He has a folksy charm so long as the 'normals' don't learn he's gay. He's a bit more centrist than Bernie. I don't see any grand conspiracy in this, well, no more than normal. Lets face it anyhow, if you care about America, its pretty much anyone but Trump for president in 2020. And the bastards going to get acquitted in all likely hood. Untutored people are easier to rule over.

Even us fly-over country bumpkins are aware Mayor Pete is openly gay. And I find it hard to believe he outpaced Biden, let alone Bernie. My social circles are limited, granted, but there was a pretty clear swing in my non-scientific observations.

This stinks to high heaven.

I am still in a mild state of shock over the fact that they really had the temerity to begin this overtly and IN THE FIRST PRIMARY. Wild.

I think Exhibit A of Buttigieg's knowing complicity in some sort of subversion was his "Victory Speech". It was like when Florida was called for Bush. The jig was up.

Can someone please explain to me (because the corporate media sure as hell aren't doing it) HOW this damn "app" was ever sold to anyone as an improvement on the previous, much simpler, low-tech method, i.e., totting up the votes on a calculator and then phoning 'em in?

I mean, what was even the purported point of the damn thing?

(Also, the final vote-count has still not been reported! Are those phone lines still mysteriously "blocked" or what's the excuse now? Russians?)

In other news, a German radio reporter today referred to a certain candidate as "Pete Bootycheeks". ("Ich hoffe, ich hab' das richtig ausgesprochen." *) Made me splutter my tea.

All right, valid criticisms. Loved, 'fly over states.' So, is this some 'deep state/ptb/illumanti' hefty punch? At least a perceived failure of the Iowa caucaus has the Dems looking stupid. DJ Trump spinning bullshit again before congress, and it played out like an ABC made for tv movie. What a spokesperson for the corporate-war state! I think the conspiracy theory internet goons all perceive Pete Buttigieg as tainted from this with the whole Shadow, Inc thang. Perhaps the acquittal today from removal from office or even some measure of censure? Left wing in America is looking soft in a time that it is most dire Americans turn to leftist causes of governance as a measure of sanity. The CIA, the company, was always busy shutting down leftist causes. :ohwh

Control the narrative.

Seems like it was all pre-conceived.

I'm reluctant to even suggest this but is it possible to consider Mike Bloomberg as something other than an oligarch with autocratic tendencies? He's the eighth richest person in the US yet gives away alot of his money. He's media savvy yet at times completely tone deaf. Foremost, unlike Trump, he's actually a wildly successful businessman who has an excellent grasp of the role strong cultural initiatives play in society. Bloomberg was largely responsible for the atrocity which is Hudson Yards, but he did add a significant amount of green space to NYC during his tenure.

And so on. Contradictions abound.

I'm asking, in terms of class and power, would Bloomberg surprise us all by being more Roosevelt than Rockefeller? He has an incredible network and is known for getting things done. This is something at which Sanders, as an 'outsider' allegedly working from within, has been unable to do. The conversation between Hedges and Nader (the embedded video in the Bernie thread) illustrates this in spades.

Would Bloomberg use his resources to become the first truly great American president since FDR? He has an ego, and it must be tempting to think this might shape his legacy, unless it hasn't yet crossed his mind and I'm just grasping at straws.

Something to consider, at least. He may have helped destroy NYC as a real creative capital, but the rest of the country is in an utter shambles, so perhaps it's not the worst idea in the world. Bloomberg seems to have a strategy where his personal position allows him to play a different game, and this could translate in ways which aren't yet clear, and might benefit many rather than the typical few.

Is there anything solid on who paid for the development of the app or do we have to wait for quarterly FEC filings to infer that? There's a payment in August from the Nevada dems that's pretty clearly for a similar project, although I am of course only assuming that.

Has Bernie made any kind of comment on this Iowa situation? Having flashbacks to 2016 already, and 2000 for that matter.

Embarrassed to live here. We are going to lose first in the nation status over this. The push was already strong. The Iowa Democratic Party is a joke, but not the funny kind.

Was extremely surprised to hear late reporting of counties and satellite caucus breaking for Bernie, leading to 1 point difference between Bernie and Pete a couple hours ago.
Yeah the Clinton/Obama/DNC big wigs involved in Shadow/Acronym as well as Pete campaign is pretty dirty...maybe it is all just incompetence with the app? :)

Yet now we have today's Newsweek headlines....Pete surges as Bernie Stalls in New Hampshire
https://www.newsweek.com/pete-buttigieg ... ll-1486007

AKA it worked. Even if Bernie "eeks" out a victory in Iowa somehow, the damage is done. Sneaky Pete claimed victory and the media has treated him as the victor. Im encouraged by Nate Silver's predictions of Bernie having the best shot at the nomination, as well as Biden flatlining in key major states. It's surreal for me to even hate on Buttigieg. For the first time in my life, a Presidential candidate is younger than I am by a number of years. And the idea of an openly gay(and a married gay man) for President of the US is pretty damn remarkable. Yet even the most progressive voters and a lot of progressive LGBTQ politically active people on social media are pointing out what a hoax Pete seems to be.

As many point out, it's almost as if the Democrat establishment who bark at us all day long on CNNBC about Impeachment and Orange Man Bad would rather still have Trump win in November...than Bernie Sanders who promises change most the corrupt corporate Democrat establishment sure as shit won't like.

Btw I see on social media some people saying how sickened they are that the Impeachment isn't on everyone's minds. I got chewed out on Reddit because I didn't think anyone but hardcore Maddow fans were following the Impeachment trial, and that it didn't come close to how big Watergate(or even Clinton's Blowjob 1998 impeachment was)

In just a few weeks into 2020, we had Trump come within minutes of almost getting us into a massive war with Iran(and by proxy, a major middle east conflict) We've had Australia being destroyed by fire, major deadly earthquakes in Puerto Rico and Jamaica, Kobe Bryant's sudden passing, this Corona Virus turning Asian into a scene out of a post apocalyptic zombie movie on the news, the Iowa caucus debacle. The Impeachment is just Trump being Trump, if anything it makes Biden look bad and shows how war criminal John Bolton will be played off as a good guy to the idiot corporate Democrats who watch CNNBC all day.

That said, Trump giving that disgusting turd Rush Limbaugh the Medal of Freedom has to be one of the most grotesque things I've seen in years on tv. I feel we need Bernie more than ever, even if he's at least a Jimmy Carter 4 years type.

Kerry folded like a cheap suit in 2004 on Ohio.

Mark Crispin Miller related an anecdote where he gave his book on the election rigging there to Kerry personally and Kerry curtly acknowledged that he was aware of the situation back then.

I am very very afraid that Bernie's "LOYALTY" to his "DEMOCRATIC COLLEAGUES" will leave his millions of fired up and ready to rumble supporters in a lurch. \<]

Bloomberg is a deficit hawk, he thinks the US needs to balance its budget, so he's limiting what he believes he can do. Roosevelt is the one who took the country off the gold standard so federal spending could expand to needed levels. Maybe Bloomberg could get hip.

About Bloomberg, I just learned about his serious and apparently effective work in reducing carbon emissions on an industrial scale. He takes that very seriously, I'm frankly impressed.
