She may have that on her secret CV, but once they're at that level, what's the difference? Probably half of State Department embassy employees are CIA and other intel under official cover. Do we have to pretend they're separate? We don't get to see the secret official org chart, or to hear from insiders in what ways it really works and the ways in which those with clearances and connections get to deviate. Is State a CIA colony, or more like a self-service station for assorted networks, ops, etc.? How many heads does the beast have, how many tentacles? When in the history was it different? When the chiefs of the two were literal brothers, of whom the inflexible blowhard ideologue ran State and the smarter one built CIA?
