... as http://cryptogon.com discovered today.

But watch it on the big (tv) screen ... play it loud for maximum awful vulgar insanity.

saw it last night

OK, pretty good movie, a little too short and not dwelling on what I thought it would dwell upon - the "heartwarming" parts were surprisingly unheavyhanded.

The REALLY interesting part is turning off the DVD after it's over and...flipping around from channel to channel on regular TV. The movie really IS about right now, not the future, and everything you watch on TV right after seeing it seems as retarded and doomed as it really is. A real veil-lifter, couched in the usual Hollywood crapola.

Waitlisted on Netflix

Postby Pazdispenser » Sat Jan 13, 2007 3:12 am

Hey! Listen to this....

Ive been a member of Netflix for at least 4 years. In all that time, Ive never seen a waitlist for a movie. Now, you should know I tend to like artsy, indy, or old films, so its not too surprising that Ive never seen a waitlist for a film in my queue. Until now that is.

And the movie with a "short wait"?.... Idiocracy! They dont have enough at Netflix to meet demand. Hot damn, this gives me just the wee bit of a glimmer of hope......

so the netflix copy of this movie finally arrived and we just finished watching it...in sum, even better than described. the unevenness of the thing, and the schlock of the comedy i found only strengthened the meaning and message of this incredible film...

overall, i think it is brilliant.

thanks, yesferatu and all you other RI'ers...i probably would not have stumbled across this amazing film if it weren't for you. i will definitely be recommending this film to my friends...

http://boingboing.net/2012/07/25/honey-boo-boo-gets-her-own-sho.html

The Learning Channel is dabbling in eschatology, and will soon air a programme starring young miss Honey Boo Boo Child, a young beauty competition participant from the Toddlers and Tiaras phenomenon. Miss Boo Boo Child came to notoriety due to her exuberant personality, fuelled by frequent nips from flasks of high sugar/high caffeine pick-me-up, this latter prepared by her doting mother.

In this clip, Boo Boo and family demonstrate the sort of educational material we can look forward to in the future from the pedagogists at the Learning Channel.

I'm not sure which is more embarrassing; the nut shot guy as volunteer idiot gladiator, or the fact that Stern is 58 and continues to pretend that he has the super-curly, jet black hair of a 25 year old.

My girlfriend and I came to the conclusion over the weekend that Idiocracy has been bumped off the list of potential long-range doomsday scenarios by the climate crisis.

That, or we are already close to living in it. I am convinced that the 2016 presidential race will have a "Camacho" character.

I still do not go a day without being reminded of this film. It's better at work, but the media that my girlfriend consumes is always troubling.

I don't want to offend anyone by sounding like an elitist snob, but I just can't seem to find my footing in the Honey Bo Boo Child zeitgeist.
