I thought it right away, the red-haired version didn't look anything like the other picture I'd seen, but I didn't have them to directly compare them, and I honestly didn't think anyone would make THAT big and obvious a mistake, so I sorta blew it off. I remembered mainly the eye color and the expression being radically different. And I've seen people who are addicts look very very different when they're using. And the red-haired version is very obviously on some heavy meds of some kind. God only knows what.
But now that someone has put this picture out, I'm like gob-smacking myself for not doing a direct comparison earlier.
I mean, c'mon. It's either a similar but different person OR he got a nose job. So which is it?
I actually trust your photo-analysis skillz more than I do my own lying eyes. So I defer to your judgment.
But fwiw, I'd say: same person, significant weight loss. (Plus usual differences due to angle, light, contrast, etc.) Or possibly: Same person with and without baby fat, if the pictures were taken far enough apart for that. A few years can still wreak some pretty big changes in your appearance when you're in your early 20s.

ON EDIT: It's not specific to Nordic (so: sorry, Nordic!) but if it's not okay to say someone in a photograph looks schizophrenic, then this...
And the red-haired version is very obviously on some heavy meds of some kind. God only knows what.
...is not actually obvious. It's very, very possible; quite, quite likely; a reasonable inference; or whatever. But there's no specific, signal feature that says "heavy meds" rather than "speeding his brains out" or "fucking terrified" or "sleep-deprived and dissociative."
FTM, they'd have had a lot more reasons for wanting to avoid medication than not, assuming that he wasn't acting out or getting violent. I don't see why they'd even do it as a precautionary measure wrt suicide, necessarily. I'm sure he's still being guarded and watched round-the-clock, at this point.
That said: I agree. He looks like he's full of one each of every single antipsychotic medication pharma's ever milled out, from Thorazine onward.
