Would it be ok if I attend? I read the forum regularly, but I rarely post here. JackRiddler should be able to vouch for me.

Jackriddler: Man, The 30's seemed so futuristic for some reason(in some regards)

This strange art film made me take a new interest in the Empire's arch rival, the Chrystler building

Could someone swing by Sterling Lord's place on Bleecker St. and leave a flaming cowpie? I can't get anyone to do this.

8bitagent wrote:Gah, you were in New York in the mid to late 70's? Lucky! Ive seen so many documentaries about that time...CBGB's, Talking Heads, Ramones, Blondie, Warhol, William S Burroughs, guerrilla filmmakers, etc. Of course the documentaries also point out the high crime rate, insane amount of delapitation and other issues. Annie Hall and Taxi are up there on my top film lists, something very cool about that whole period. I didn't get to visit New York til 1986, so pre Guiliani thankfully. I remember grafitti absolutely on every square inch of everything, Beastie Boys and Run DMC being played everywhere, etc. Sadly didnt run into Warhol or JM Basquiat:)

I was a kid and discovered most of what you speak of in the 1980s. I do remember the Summer of Sam and Reggie and Bella and the blackout very well, but from an overprotected 12-year-old's home and TV perspective.

Uh... So what the hell did we decide, folks? Saturday? I was almost afraid it was tonight! Can someone give the Punch N. Judy for all? Thanks!

Have fun, folks! I'll raise a virtual pint to your health.

Also, 8bit, for your NYC trip I'd recommend visits to the Morgan Library and the Lower East Side Tenement Museum. Especially the same day, for the one to 99% obscenity of it.

Just arrived at barcade. Cheers!
Both his words and manner of speech seemed at first totally unfamiliar to me, and yet somehow they stirred memories - as an actor might be stirred by the forgotten lines of some role he had played far away and long ago.
