Knowing the darkness that is, (as most but not all, Ri's do ...) I nearly had a full meltdown the other day as I watched someone just let their kids use electronics aka mobile data/cell phones without a care. I remember the glare I got when telling someone close to me that Barbies are now recording our kids and by proxy everything that happens in our homes. So appalling and near futile with the grid they are herding us into. I heard a long time ago - and was impressed with the idea- of a 'Mental Plantation'. Boy, are we there....

Privacy fears over 'smart' Barbie that can listen to your kids

Campaigners call for ban on Mattel doll that uses voice-recognition technology to respond to children’s questions – and send recordings to third parties

Gives new meaning to Full Spectrum Dominance. Maybe, Brave New, 1984 was a manual, not a work of fiction.

The below might be what it looks like in cities, but I imagine our neighbourhoods are worse, like something out of Steven Kings, 'Dome'.

^^It's not just recording stuff. NRK (the Norwegian state broadcaster) just did a piece where they demonstrated how creepy it really is.

They gave a bluetooth enabled teddy bear to one of the reporter's kids, a four year old girl, and outside the house they parked a van with two guys in it. The guys used a laptop to connect to the teddy bear (no security whatsoever) and started talking to the kid through it. It took the teddy bear less than five minutes to convince her to go outside and get in the van without telling anyone.

(The kid knew she was being filmed and that it was for TV, but not the specifics).

Jesus Christ...

That's something straight out of a Black Mirror episode, right there.

Speaking of which, the new season should be landing on Netflix any day now. Six new shards of broken glass to slip into our tender, caring hearts.

Christ! My GGrandchildren, two beautiful little girls, were excited they bot got tablets from Santa Momma.

Facetime they love but even more they love Alexa!

I nearly died, right there! I started to speak and my daughter said "don't, just don't" while hustling them into the car

I did get out, "Alexa is not your friend!" feeling like the guy who learns too late "How to Serve Man" was a cookbook!

Adaption will soon be the norm as more and more are directed into stem programs. Get hooked into the latest gizmo to keep apace - and get ahead in the world, or if you'd prefer, a newer, state of the art and updateable, one.

Plug in or get unplugged.
