Who got permission to take that photo? And who authorised releasing it to the world's media during France's state of emergency?

Or was it leaked by the photographer himself?

Either that, or you have to imagine something else entirely.

*NATO being, of course, the most powerful military alliance in the history of humankind.

Like bankrupting the fragile, degenerate West due to the massive costs of deploying its mighty but unwieldy military against an ephemeral, nimble target for potentially decades, and gaining political support along the way due to all the inevitable "collateral damage"? It was an effective strategy against the Americans in Vietnam and the Soviets in Afghanistan, albeit writ smaller. Granted, the Viet Cong and Afghani mujahideen had some support from states with deep pockets, but who's to say that isn't the case here (hypothetically).

I'm not a believer in ISIS, either, but this doesn't seem like an unbelievable strategy if they actually existed in the form we're told.

Gun linked to Paris attacks traced back to Florida arms dealer implicated in Iran-Contra scandal

A gun linked to last month’s Paris mass shootings has been traced back to a Florida arms dealer.

The serial number for a M92 semi-automatic pistol linked to the deadly Nov. 13 terrorist attacks matched one for a weapon delivered by the Zastava arms factory in May 2013 to Century International Arms in Delray Beach, reported the Palm Beach Post.

Michael Sucher, the owner of Century Arms, did not answer calls seeking comment Thursday and the doors to his shop were closed as TV news crews gathered outside.

Employees leaving the arms dealer’s building did not comment on the case, and a woman who works next door said she had no idea the business dealt guns.

Century Arms buys and sells military-grade surplus guns — with a specialty in buying weapons from overseas and reselling them to dealers — and is one of the largest arms dealers in the U.S.

The company also holds a federal firearms license in Georgia, Vermont, to import and build guns and to import destructive devices such as large-caliber guns and armor-piercing ammunition.

Documents shared by WikiLeaks in 2011 showed Century Arms had illegally traded firearms with the help of “unauthorized brokers.”

The Center for Public Integrity reported that same year that WASR-10 rifles manufactured for Century Arms in Romania had become a favorite of Mexican drug cartels.

John Rugg, a former police officer and longtime Century Arms employee, testified before a U.S. Senate committee in 1987 that the company had supplied rockets, grenades and other weapons to Nicaraguan rebels as part of the Iran-Contra scandal.

The export of firearms is heavily regulated, and weapons experts suggested the weapon may have been illegally transferred.

Century Arms sells to individuals or other businesses with a federal firearms license, and its website directs most retail traffic to a network of dealers.

But there are no restrictions on who can obtain those licenses.

The owner of the Zastava arms factory in Serbia that delivered the rifle to Century Arms said his company did not sell weapons to terrorists.

“Here’s where the weapons ended, there’s the data,” said arms dealer Milojko Brzakovic. “Zastava cannot be blamed for where it went afterward. Wherever there are wars, there are bigger possibilities for abuse and to hide the channels for guns (and) they end up where they shouldn’t.”

That's been an open secret here in Vermont as long as I've been alive. What they get away with is, to say the least, impressive. Not even inferring anything covert, although that too is true, I just mean what they do in plain sight as a business model to create local jobs. Although those jobs have started shrinking post-Newtown due to Obamadmin lawfare...I know there was a big round of layoffs last year. They pivoted to Florida as HQ back in the Clinton Administration, though, the old complex in Georgia, VT may be closed within the decade, who knows.

But yeah, Sucher hails from an era where obvious acronyms were still clever tradecraft instead of obvious liability.

US Refuses to Tell France Who Financed Paris Terror Attacks
17:29 17.12.2015(updated 17:37 17.12.2015)

The US has refused to respond to French inquiries regarding terrorist funding sources, according to sources in the French Finance Ministry.

United States authorities have yet to respond to multiple requests from France on sources of funding for Daesh terrorists tied to the November 13 Paris attacks, a French Finance Ministry source told Reuters.

The US and the European Union signed an agreement called the Terrorist Finance Tracking Program in 2010, which allowed EU countries to rely on the US for information on terrorist groups' finance flows. Prior to the Paris attacks, the US turned down requests from France to reveal the financial flows funding the January 7 attacks on the Charlie Hebdo newspaper and a Jewish supermarket, saying France "did not provide enough details."

"I don't think that they will dare use this argument for the latest request concerning very specific people identified as being behind the Paris attacks," the source told Reuters.

According to the source, information regarding financing of terrorist groups has been made available to countries, which, the source told Reuters are "more Anglo-Saxon than us." Although the SWIFT international payments company's servers are mainly based in Europe, the information in the system is only available to the US, which negotiated access to the system with the EU.

"It's clearly a politically sensitive situation. But at the same time we cannot be satisfied that the information is available to some but not for European countries," another finance ministry source told Reuters.

France now seeks to access SWIFT data on a European servers, which the European Parliament blocked for EU countries, but not the US, over privacy concerns. Link

- smells a bit NATO Gladio mercenary-hiding interference, no?

How fucked is that? Hollande should ask Putin.

They should be able to get the data in a proper investigation, no?

Smells more like an attempt to erase privacy protections to me.

Speaking of which, what's this I hear about attempts to ban research on hacking exploits in the EU? Hyperbole, surely?

MacCruisken, there's an independent investigative journalist who's been arrested in France, and charged with "violating secrets of the investigation", "diffusing images that gravely violate human dignity", and "willful, premeditated violence without ITT". (I have no idea what "ITT" is).

..."violation du secret de l'instruction", "diffusion d'images portant gravement atteinte à la dignité humaine" et "violences volontaires sans ITT avec préméditation".

Hicham Hamza is an independent, web-based French journalist who runs a site called PANAMZA, which specializes in investigating Zionist activity and influence in France.

In late February, he was locked up and questioned for several hours before being let go pending further investigation. Now he's been formally charged.

His crime? He did not take the photo, but dared to trace it back to the first time it appeared in public, and to inform his readers. By posting that photo, the French authorities determined that he had "gravely assaulted human dignity" and "committed premeditated, willful violence"; and by publicizing the source of that photo, he had "violated the secrecy of an investigation". I'm pretty sure it's the photo you've been wondering about, although the original has since been removed (after Hamza was questioned), and replaced with a photo of empty seats in the concert hall.

Image

The photo originated with a tweet from the right-wing Israeli publication The Jerusalem Post. Almost immediately afterward, if not simultaneously, it was picked up and disseminated by the Jewish Defense League in France.

Oddly, the JDL, which is listed as a terrorist organization in the US (and which is, in fact a terrorist organization), was not prosecuted for posting the photo.

As Hicham Hamza says,

My practice -- which is becoming increasingly costly and dangerous -- of ultra-sourced web journalism is in fact the very basis of my credibility with my readers: I give them my sources so that they can check for themselves the truth of my information.

Link

In fact, it appears all too obvious that Hicham Hamza's crime was to inform his readers where the photo originated, and to publish the evidence so they could check for themselves.
