Someone from san diego goes on a shooting spree in colorado...after sorrow...pause for thought....familiarities...dejavukelele dreams...for over a year now my ten year old son has refused to go to the movie theater...when asked why he shrugs his shoulders, being audile he says it is the sound systems but he will crank it up on home theater system...when pressed further in tempting to get him to go to opening of DK he said no and I asked why. Because it is not safe in them. Oh, why? Because he answered that is where the alien invasions will begin. Someone from san diego goes on a rampage in Aurora. The alien invasions are about to begin. But they are not from other worlds as we understand it. Much more here than meets the eye. Bane. It is just too weird.

About four hours ago an American friend of mine told me he'd heard there were two attackers. He was quite adamant about this. But I can find very little about it online, except in a few German sources.

As Andreas Hauss says, (link in German), this is reminiscent of the attacks in Utöya (Norway) and Winnenden (Germany). Early eyewitness reports of a second gunman just melt into thin air.

James Cameron, who was in an adjacent theater, said he hear commotion and screaming. People seated around him began coughing and having difficulty breathing.
"By the sound of it, it sounds like there could have been three or four guys shooting," he said.

Audra Mincey, a spokeswoman for the Swedish Medical Center, told Fox News there are two patients in critical condition.
Mincey said the hospital set up its incident command center and mobilized personnel.
Earlier reports said there may have been a second shooter, but police believe only one shooter was involved, KDVR tells Fox News.

A lot of online news sources get re-written dynamically as new information comes in, so there are articles that once mentioned two gunmen which now only mention James Holmes, and go into some detail about him. I know for a fact that this article has a revision history that would contain mention of two shooters, but it doesn't show any sign of that now:

I don't know any way to access the history of these pages in order to see earlier versions though.

It's possible that the early reports of two shooters are just down to confusion at the scene, or the fact that a bullet apparently passed through the wall of one auditorium into another, injuring someone in a room that the gunman apparently didn't intend to target.

An early Facebook post on the Aurora News Facebook page said this:

· Saba Ahmed: It was a smoke bomb used to cover up the gunshots! They shot in 2 different rooms in the century 16 theater(both batman premieres).

He could've just been confused or disoriented too, or maybe he wasn;t even present at the theatre. I'm just mentioning these things so people can come back to them if needed, not to advance any kind of theory.

Defense officials tell NBC News that two US Air Force reservists and two Navy service members were among those wounded in the overnight shooting spree. One of the Navy service members is missing and presumed dead.

Yes, seems strange that. I don't know if it just means they haven't found the body yet, or maybe not identified it. Things must be pretty frantic still. I hear the Navy got in contact with Aurora PD very quickly after the news broke.

I had not, Mack, until you posted this so I went to Twitter and looked her up. It was disconcerting to say the least, to plow through her daily 5-10 tweets and realize how this very chatty girl lost her life so suddenly, and tragically.

I found the tweet you were referring to, and I am more than a little puzzled by the weirdness of this...I would very much like to find out who that guy was, and why he was there that day. In costume. Charging people and capitalizing on a tragedy. How convenient.

I'm generally sceptical about "synchronicities" and tend to regard them as sub-varieties of banal coincidence. But what are the odds against a person witnessing such a thing, caring enough about it to report it, surviving a spree-shooting in the same place on the same day, and then being killed by a spree-shooter at a Batman movie only a few weeks later?

Well, that's absurd. No, it's ridiculous, rather.

There are (don't misunderstand me) only twelve dead. If he's among them, they would very quickly know that he was among them. Twelve dead bodies are not hard to count, especially in a movie theater. If he's not confirmed dead, then why on earth would he be "presumed" dead?

NB: "Defense officials" made a point of making a statement about it to NBC reporters, within hours. Is it standard practice for "defense officials" to rush to tell the hacks that a soldier is "presumed dead", especially when he's the alleged victim of a civilian shooting? I don't think so. But correct me if I'm wrong.
