And what's this gravity all the Illuminati-financed establishment scientists keep talking about?! I just walked off the roof of a high building the other day and nothing happened, I remained firmly in place and turned back around, no problem. I urge our flat earth friends to try the same.

So why do I get upset at "crisis actors" promoted by basically the same set around here who are now doing flat earth? The one is ugly but the other is practically a paradigm for so silly it's funny, and its presence should obviate any concern, right? Why would anyone bother to argue with it? Well I don't argue with it. Self-evidently the ones dishing this up don't really believe it themselves. So what are they doing? I'm showing respect to these people, or whatever it is that they are: If they can write and post, they're not this stupid. (Assuming it's even a "they" and not a single persona management software operator running most of all of these accounts.) We're the stupid ones, see? Because we entertain the infestation and consider ourselves fair and open minded for doing so.

Oops -- the instruction "Graph these comma-separated phrases" led me to think that anything between commas was a phrase, not requiring quote marks.

Okay, that was funny.
Theodore Roszak asked the Stephen Wright-esque question, Why is there no Theory of Levity?
The context was the issue of confusing the map with the territory; ask a physicist 'what is gravity?' and he'll give you a mathematical expression. Well, says Roszak, that ain't gravity.

Dude, what is it you're having a hard time grasping about reality?
So, I guess the sun's merely a disk of light, and not the great ball of fire I've so longed believed it was. And that's why the Egyptians worshiped the solar disk. Because the earth was flat.
Christ! you're the words of your footer come to life!

We're talking about the shape of the Earth here. It's not a modern-day thing, it was well established in the classical period. And I can assure you that nothing you have ever observed contradicts the mainstream theory of science. Prove me wrong. Flat Earth theory, on the other hand, contradicts my observations when I watch a sunset or go up a building in a lift.

They 'believe' it in the way Christians I went to church with when I was a kid 'believed' that Christ went to Hell and arose again on the third day. It has nothing to do with what they actually think is true, it is a thing they say out loud (or post on the internet) to signal their willingness to belong to a specific group and to reinforce their self-image, as Christians or as Intellectually Fearless Doubters.
Like I said before, I'm not convinced the earth is flat, but I am convinced we've been deceived. For instance, I really think there is something to plasma cosmology and the electrodynamic nature of the universe, yet, that theory is all but ignored by the mainstream. And we know official maps distort the relative size of nations and continents.
So, I don't think it's fair to label the people who ask questions and who point out the contradictions, holes, deception, etc., regarding the current model--conceived way before airplanes and rockets were invented--as stupid. Just because it's over 500 years old doesn't mean it's the truth. I mean, do you really think, after 500 years, if they found out they were wrong they would admit it? I doubt it, not when they have the wealth, power, technology, tools to convince us of its "truth". Perhaps that's the reason NASA was created. Although, I'm of the belief that the deception started long ago...way before the "space age" began.
However, I'm also convinced the recent proliferation of flat earth in alternative media and even alluded to in mainstream media "fiction"--Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, The Truman Show, Under the Dome, etc.--is, in part, orchestrated from above.
I don't know what to make of this guy.
Matthew Boylan, former NASA operational graphics manager, worked for years creating photo-realistic computer graphics for NASA. Now a vocal Flat-Earther, Boylan claims that NASA’s sole reason for existence is to propagandize the public and promote this false ball-Earth heliocentric worldview. Originally recruited because of his skills and reputation as a hyper-realist multi-media artist, he started doing projects like photoshopping various lighting and atmospheric effects onto images of Earth, the Moon, Jupiter, Europa, etc. Having proved himself, and wanting to promote him to do more classified work, a room of NASA higher-ups during a party, as a type of initiatory-rite, explained to him and a few others in detail the reality of the Geocentric Flat-Earth model and how they have fooled the entire world!
Refusing to be a part of their deception, Boylan cut his ties to NASA, began researching the Flat-Earth for himself, and has recently become a powerful voice on the lecture circuit and the internet exposing NASA and their heliocentric hoax. In his comedic lectures he speaks candidly and eloquently about how simple it is using nothing more than Adobe Photoshop and a video editor to create any and every type of image NASA purports to be “receiving from the Hubble telescope.” He points out how in most ball-Earth videos lazy NASA graphics workers don’t even bother changing cloud structures in ordinary or time-lapse footage; the same shape, color and condition cloud cover often stays completely unchanged for 24 hour periods and longer! Boylan states unequivocally that every picture and video of the ball-Earth, all the Moon/Mars landings, the existence of orbiting satellites, space stations, and all Hubble images are hoaxed. He even quips anecdotes about how NASA officials and astro-nots privy to the Flat-Earth truth would laugh hysterically at the brain-washed zombie public who unquestioningly believe their televisions.

That might be one of the most long-term effective cocktail party jokes ever pulled. Not exactly "Dietrich Eckart convincing Hitler he was white," but still. Damn.
They must be in stitches all over again, every time Boylan posts a new video.
Matthew Boylan ... In his comedic lectures he speaks candidly and eloquently
It's comedy.
If anything, maybe the 'Flat Earth' meme is ochestrated from above to get people to waste time making 'sense ' of it. Mission accomplished?

Not saying I'm onside with anything here, but I think everybody has learned that a lot of the 'reality' around our lives is anything but.
Never really gave the curvature calculations any thought, but I am raising an eyebrow now about things, from my little corner of the world.
I have a 5 mile non-locked canal separating me from the mainland. And I can see one end to the other, no problem. Markers, walls etc. Doing the math (something I don't do, apart from basics at tax time), I realize that there should be a 16 and a half foot drop from one end to the other, so I should not be able to see what I do. Sure, some can say that the atmosphere is a corrective lens on this, and 'nothing to see here'.
Maybe next year I'll have to arrange my own Bedford Level test here.
The Lake Ontario shipping lanes are out, 10 to 25 miles out from here as well. Maybe my math is wrong, but doesn't that mean over a 66 foot difference, to a 416 foot difference for those distances out? Why can I see the lakers then plying those lanes...hull at waterline up, and not just a telecom mast or something?
Anyway, I'm sure others can correct me, or have odd observations of their own.
If you squint carefully, or get a powerful enlargement rendered with the aid of some video forensic software, you can see, like, thousands of crisis actors.

What makes a map official? You cannot map the surface of a sphere to a plane without distortion. It is mathematically impossible, not a conspiracy.

The globe is not a model, it is an observation. Who are "they" who for 500 2000 years have been tasked with suppressing all of the evidence that the world is flat? And what reason would they have for doing it? No hand-wavy explanations, please.
However, I'm also convinced the recent proliferation of flat earth in alternative media and even alluded to in mainstream media "fiction"--Game of Thrones, The Simpsons, The Truman Show, Under the Dome, etc.--is, in part, orchestrated from above.
I'm not sure how any of those have anything to do with a flat earth.
For every video/image posted showing the curvature of the earth there is a video/image that shows no curvature. A fish-eye lens can make normally flat objects look rounded but maybe there's a lens that can flatten curvature. I don't know.
High Altitude Balloon Flight:
This balloon supposedly ascended to an altitude in excess of 75,000 feet, far above the 60,000 feet necessary to see the curvature clearly. No curvature.
