Both his words and manner of speech seemed at first totally unfamiliar to me, and yet somehow they stirred memories - as an actor might be stirred by the forgotten lines of some role he had played far away and long ago.

Fifty years of political struggles to get to this point, a global apparatus of terror built on "war on drugs", death-squad governments in too many countries to count, millions of people locked up, dispossessed, disenfranchised and ruined, and there might be those foolish and small-minded, heartless souls whose response is to mock this penultimate victory (we're still not there yet, it's liable to take years yet) as trivial. And state-corporate media whores (yeah, RT counts too) are willing to manufacture some social media comments from them into a "news story."
