Seems that Elizabeth Warren has defeated Scott Brown in Mass.

Great news!

Iamwhomiam wrote:In NY, we're watching a few races closely, at least locally. Though not in my district, the Gibson-R vs Schreibeman-D Congressional contest is one of concern, Schreibman being the hopeful. In my Congressional District, Tonko-D vs Dieterich-R will see Tonko hold-off the challenger. Tonko is a fine man I respect immensely. (Most unusual for a politician.) One of the rare 'good guys' (or a convenient prop kept in place to keep alive some semblance of a functioning system?)
Of course, the US Senate race of Gillibrand-D vs challenger Wendy Long-R is very important nationally and Gillibrand will most likely hold her seat, which is a good thing for everyone.

Of our State Assembly and Senate races that taking place in my district is interesting and may not go to my liking, but I'm praying it does. My district was recently redrawn by our Republican-controlled Senate to favor builder-developer Republican George Amedore who's running against another genuine good guy, Democrat Cecelia Tkaczyk. Close, it seems now. A lifetime of really good work, really, against a guy who represents all that is wrong in this world in so very many ways.

Even on the radio, can't stand the prognosticator commentaries. Really who needs it. Just tell my if I'll need my rifle.

Somebody say sumpin about a pipe?

per NPR,
Missouri: Clare McCaskill defeats a GOP challenger Tod Akin to keep her Dem senate seat;
Minnesota: called for Obama, not unexpectedly..

p.s. Romney leads by 20,000 votes in VA, Obama ahead by about the same amount in Ohio and FL , still counting..

There's not been a bit of real bad news for Democrats all night.

Even Alan Grayson won in a landslide. Great to see.

Santa Rosa County only has about 151 000 population total. It wouldn't be enough to turn the state around even if Romney scored some improbable percentage there. The only way Romney can carry Florida is if Obama's lead is very small in Miami Dade and the entire remaining rural vote is for Romney.

However, automatic recount in FLA if margin is less that 0.5%. Currently 0.3%.

Don't get a twitter feed myself and saw this on a local tv station's website:

"Shaktacular profile

Shaktacular MSNBC is rude! They spoke with a Romney rep who said Gov. Romney still feels confident. Reporter asked "Based on what?" LMAO #Election2012 57 seconds ago "

Man I like that Elizabeth Warren. I wish she was running for President. I have mixed feelings. Im very happy to see everyone on my facebook and really the whole nation(including that elusive young demo) exercising their vote.
I'm just surprised to see so many people on pins and needles as if the world depends on it.

If we're truly, truly honest...can we really believe Obama is not *precisely* whom the elite want in? I'm not talking the idiot Koch/GOP/Rove fucktards and old guard. I mean the wall street/MIC/Saudis/Euro banks/etc.

It's bizarre to me that people are having amnesia, and forget Obama is most likely there for a reason...not simply because "the people" wanted him there. I hate the GOP/Tea Party/right wing with a passion like most sane people, but I also can't shake the feeling Obama is there for a very special(but not positive) reason.

Dem Tim Kaine has apparently won the VA senate race as Allen just conceded. The numbers look close, 40,000 per CSPAN, so I'm glad it didn't go to litigation but yeah we can count on FL publicly evacuating its bowels for weeks on end just like 2000.. :tongout

PA called for Obama, yay! :thumbsup

A few days ago even the most rabid GOP strategists were having this defeated tone, blaming Hurricane Sandy and a number of other things.
My prediction for over a year was that Romney was simply this year's Dole or Mccain, though more recently I began to wonder if perhaps they wanted Romney in there
and would do so by flipping key votes in Florida or Ohio. All night there's been this tone(especially on MSNBC) that Obama has it in the bag, and that "you gotta be happy if you're in the Obama camp".

Of course we'd see rioting and unrest if we saw Romney "win", as to many people they'd (rightfully) think it was stolen. But I worry about something a million times worse, And there's a reason they need Obama in there, for now.
This has been a relatively calm, sleepy year. Lord knows what will come next year.

Update: Yeah MSNBC is pretty much already acting like Obama won.
