all remember Corexit ? I expect some of you are still eating it & swimming in it after they turned the Gulf into about 40% chemical soup. Am wondering what the covid-19 version of getting cluster-bombed by old golf balls will be ?

Yup. It's astroturf time!

That's a stretch and maybe he is, although given the glee derived in calling 'conservatives', fascists, it's more likely some typical antifa putz getting some lutz. Still, CNN, being journalists and all, and expected to check their sources, must not really care much about sources. Apparently you do not care either.

And Jack that troll quip is a laughfer given that you troll me for pretty much anything I say.

De Vos Inc have a much bigger goal here than Trump's reelection. Much like the Tea Party, which was template for this, the goal is to get ahead of an actual incoming tidal wave of populist anger. This serves two purposes: one, it provides a channel for them to profitably divert that anger -- but two, and probably most important, it's an innoculation, as Hugh used to put it. Now the association is with nitwit assholes in F-350s that have never seen dirt waving cardboard signs at nurses. Now the actual rage of working class people is just "ignorant, right wing assholes," poor deluded MAGA chumps.

The reality, though, is that Americans aren't going to be upset about "being inconvenienced," they're upset because they are broke, abandoned, unemployed and worried about feeding their families and themselves. That's a dangerous mix, so it's important to get ahead of that.

In other words, it's a lot like the cynicism of the Bernie Sanders campaigns of 2016 and 2020, just framed as a different demographic. When in fact, both of them are psychological operations targeting the American majority.

Victoria, Bolts home state has about 1300 cases of COVID 19 and less than 20 deaths iirc. Massachusetts, a similar sized state in the US (half a million more people) with similar culture I spose has more deaths than Vic has cases and nearly 40, 000 cases.

Dan Andrews, the Victorian Premier - state government leader - is a member of the Australian Labour Party, a centre left right party that pretends to represent workers. Murdoch favours their political opponents, the Liberal National Coalition, which is a former centre right party that now is hard right. There is a massive anti Andrews push in Victorian ms media, for whatever reason. Murdoch owns most of it and influences the rest.

Andrews is actually a competent politician and was recently re elected easily despite turning Melbourne into a road work zone that massively inconvenienced everyone. Cos the work needed to be done I guess and he made no apologies for the work, just for the inconvenience.

Andrews' decisions during the fire season and this virus situation have been as good as you could expect from a politician.

Andrew Bolt on the other hand was a climate change denying racist who hates the poor, Muslims and anyone who isn't a Neo Liberal Neocon.. He's stopped denying climate lately cos it's hard to argue with overwhelming evidence ... now he's about minimising people's acknowledgement of it.

He's still an elitist racist tho.

And a bully. Here he is assaulting someone who threw glitter at him...

His response to this was to call for Antifa to be labelled a terrorist organisation. :yay

You're right, it definitely has the slow-motion train wreck feeling of that disaster. BTW my source on the NYC chemical response says that this chemical is going to be sprayed on every sidewalk in the city. Because you know, the virus gets tracked around on people's shoes. A friend in Jersey told me that a fumigation team in hazmat suits came through and sprayed the gas station next to his studio already. Talk about a real reason to wear a gas mask whenever you go out in public! This is a transnational response being done in the EU and obviously China is all about it with the drones. Nothing like ionic-ly rupturing the inside of your lungs to help out with the new virus that everyone will be infected with. Nobody gave a fuck about Corexit, and now all the human little fish are going to get the same treatment. Although apparently the NYC bigwigs like JP Morgan are first in line to get the treatment.

I'll bet the 1% in Europe are smart enough to not spray their own living space, like the Nazis with their sacred blood and soil - keep the clean environment and food for themselves, and since the lesser menschen are all going to get the garbage chemicals dumped on them anyway might as well just cut to the chase. United States 1% poisons their own food supply with transgenic garbage and just sprays chemicals every which way with no regard for their own personal safety. Congratulations United States 1%, you're legitimately more psychotic than the third Reich.

Yep, for sure. And a racist, right-wing blah blah... requirement of the job.

Is there anything in what he says in that clip that is factually incorrect? The numbers? I'm guessing that the modelling he's on about is this?

Blackwater 2.0 not so secretly pushing Tea Party 3% 2: Purge Boogaloo. It's weird how another effect is for the yoga privileged "left" to channel all their anger toward the "gun nut flag wavers" as a steam valve, rather than seeing that their entire post Obama Apple Starbucks illusion is about to collapse around them. Where was the Michigan Militia in protesting Flint Water poison or the DAPL pipeline? However, as misdirected as they may seem, it often feels like the "guns and faith" rural folks have more a sense of crisis than big city white liberal Apple trendys...both seem detatched from the fact that tens of thousands of working class black and brown people are dropping like flies. The very people keeping the transit system, farms, grocery stores, etc running. Everyone gonna be wanting to protest when society/finances begin to crumble, and life feels hot as shit this summer. If the Erik Prince family, Koch etc are fomenting and honey potting the "Boogaloo" protests in part, it definitely feels all tectonic plates are being manipulated. With all political sides thick with blind spots, the level of hysteria, fear, manipulation and potential horror and unrest is quite a tempest.

As someone who grew into being a vegan, is it wrong part of me is happy seeing the meat industry collapse knowing how countless black and Latino workers have been exploited not to mention damage to environment? Is it wrong I love scenes of wild life taking over cities and pollution clearing? I can hate the "depopulation" seed ark eugenist elite and still tickle the far left eco-anarcho side?

Oil closing at negative 38 bucks a barrel, reports of Lil' Kim near death and possibly replaced by his even more psychotic sister, and mainstream reports of a Wuhan Lab origins of Covid in the past day seem almost tame in this "new normal". That political hack Nate Silver is always trying to talk about his "models". I find the only ones with any real sense of predictive models are the folks with a dark sense of humor.

I'd like to see what people's wildest predictions/worries are, as at this point nothing seems too outrageous. Even the idea of a "total biometric facial scanning thermal pre crime AI robot controlled society" from bloviated Texas conspiracy hosts seems almost inevitable and tame.

If past wars, coups and general nasty shit has been partly based off of oil...and oil is collapsing, does this make war more likely? Or will world leaders realize war is ultimately futile(as in the recent Saudi/Yemen "truce" in the wake of the pandemic) Either way part of me thinks sci fi cyberpunk VTOL heavy smart cyber-cities like Masdar City and total lawless wasteland countries is coming sooner than I thought...another part of me thinks somehow there's a course correction and 2020's resemble the recent past until something even more cataclysmic happens.

I'm not watching that clip. I'm not giving that prick a cent. That includes views on his clips that he can try and sell to advertisers and his slimey, baby eating boss. Everyone in the country knows he's whinging about Golf and Andrews.

At this point we have about 6600 cases all up, more recoveries than new infections and numbers of infections per day in single figures and single figure percentages compared to what they were weeks ago. Because we've done all this lockdown shit.

It's a massive pain in the arse. Why would we stop it now after having put up with all this shit already if it means that pita was a wasted effort? As low as these figures are it's clear this virus is not contained and not under control. Right now we are at the point where what we chose to do has started to work but it obviously hasn't finished working.

Why throw it away vis some Murdoch Shill or his mates want to play golf?

The fat, soft cunt can GAGF.

If there is anything I've missed from his clip other than the modelling please bring it up. As I said I'm not turning my time into his profit but if you have some point that you think is important that I've missed I'll happily talk about it.

I'm curious as to how you know that, though? How do you know that lockdown has had any effect (without even getting into 'lives saved' vs. 'lives lost' due to lockdown comparison)?

I see this claim made everywhere, usually on the basis that it simply 'stands to reason' or somesuch. What I've yet to see is any kind of evidence that tighter lockdowns mean fewer infections or fatalities. All the available evidence so far suggests that there is no correlation.

So what convinced you?
