Deep Sleep Therapy and brainwashing researcher Dr. William Sargant



Deep Sleep Therapy was a bizarre psychiatric treatment in which drugs were used to induce a coma in patients during which the doctors would administer a variety of other mind drugs and electric shocks. The idea was that they'd awaken cured of mental disorders, ranging from depression to schizophrenia. One of the, er, "pioneers" was Dr. William Sargant in the UK who promoted the "therapy" in the 1960s and 1970s. Of course, Sargant is best known for his research on brainwashing. He's the author of Battle for the Mind: A Physiology of Conversion and Brainwashing (1957), basically a how-to of techniques for reprogramming people. He also developed methods for implanting false memories, and was involved in the Project MKULTRA, the CIA's mind control and chemical interrogation research program. Delightful guy. The BBC Radio 4 recently broadcast a documentary about Sargant's Sleep Room treatments. The program is titled Revealing the Mind Bender General:

Electric Politics is a fairly new discovery, which features pretty mainstream leftist stuff but on occasion veers in some interesting directions, as with David Ray Griffin on 9/11 and Peter Dale Scott. There are also discussions on the paranormal.

Mr. Kenney seems to have a fairly rigorously intuitive mindset.

Phillip Collins: Predictive Programming

Phillip D. Collins, author of the Ascendancy of the Scientific Dictatorship is back, this time to discuss predictive programming in literature by certain elites on route to their dangerous fantasies about a 'New World Order': "Predictive programming works by means of the propagation of the illusion of an infallibly accurate vision of how the world is going to look in the future" which author Michael A. Hoffman calls "scientific inevitablism". This will be a fascinating program, to be sure. Tell a friend.

In September of 2007 the International Forum on Globalization held a
Teach-in in Washington DC on climate change, peak oil, global resource
depletion & extinction. Speakers addressed the many false solutions to
the climate crisis that may be accelerating the danger rather than
alleviating it.

Jutta Kill is a climate campaigner and activist for FERN, an NGO based in Europe. A participant in the Durban Group's critique of carbon
trading she eloquently describes how the system favors large
corporations and will prevent a transition to renewable energy production.

Dr. Arjun Makhijani argues against the resurgence of nuclear power. He
holds a Ph.D. in engineering, specializing in nuclear fusion, from U.C.
Berkeley. He is the principal author of the first study ever done (and
completed in 1971) on the energy conservation potential in the U.S.
economy.
