What a nasty person you are, T.

You see, Folks, she replaced some of her ex-members' avatars with trolls in prison stripes (or one of her admins did, and she let it stand) - essentially defaming them. I certainly can't see Jeff doing that. I certainly wouldn't. Classy, huh?

Tin, you called people trolls who weren't trolls. They were only challenging the statements of the sacred cows; AND, those members were good enough for years, until the annointed ones came over.

Tin, you will, in the end, get exactly the karma and cosmic consequences that you deserve. For your sake, I hope that you chose the right people as friends. Good luck with that.

That's really sick. This whole thing is really sick.

All I can say, there is nothing any of us, who were banned last week, did to tin or anyone else at PI, to deserve being treated like this.

This piece of regrettable drama only serves to remind me that a person's actions reveal more of who they are than their words do.

And I don't recall the last time that I saw compassion abide in a person where vindictiveness does too.

The latter tends to preclude the former.

All of the people who have been banned, were banned because we don't completely accept the current groups' extreme political views.

Sorry if I wasn't clear.

I was referencing myself to the creation of stripped trolls for the banned.

An apparent act of vindictiveness.

From someone who occasionally enjoyed talking about compassion.

Oil and water, is all.

Vindictiveness and compassion.

Oil and water.

Oops, I didn't mean to direct that response to you. It was in response to the whole thread.

I would add the word "laughably"
as in
"laughably" extreme political views
as in maybe its a parody or a big joke?

I didnt say funny, though.

Obviously you didn't get the memo from the Central Committee: we weren't banned because we're too reactionary to accept enlightenment from those who know better. In fact, we weren't banned at all!!! We just left--in confusion and humiliation--because we couldn't defend our positions against KBG-like interrogation and superior polemics. And that's no joke...however ROTF funny it is....

I made a point of visiting various churches in my life. And I visited quite a few.

Some churches get their whole congregations to sing their hymns.

While others have their choirs perform that function.

When a church no longer wants their congregation to join in the singing and creates a choir loft for that function, it's a sign of something.

We can differ what it is a sign of, of course.

But we probably can agree that it is, nonetheless, an act of exclusion.

Albeit a regrettable one.

Sorry I hadn't been around to comment on this thread which was started with a deleted post of mine from DU.

I am very puzzled by what happened to PI, but it seems to be a trend. I'm not sure why but since the election of the Democrats, there has been a rise, or perhaps revelation, of an extremely authoritarian left -- authoritarianism having nothing to do with their actual position.

I was banned from PI when I tried to renew my registration some months ago. But in the kind of circle that PI became, the banners themselves got banned, and it devolved into some kind of rigidly ideological conformity.

Good riddance as far as I'm concerned, but what bothers me is that this kind of thinking seems to be spreading.

Many of the people who were banned last Monday were longtime members of PI.

For over two years we had a lovely little forum with hardly any disruptions. We are not crazy. We are not antisemites. We are not liars. We are not trolls.

Image

We are human beings. We are people who went to PI because we believed in peace.

We went to PI because that was the only active forum that allowed open discussions about Israel and the Palestinians and all aspects of 9/11. PI was the only forum that allowed open discussion of both, which obviously is a lethal combination.

When the owner of a so called 'progressive' forum, no longer thinks there's anything wrong with members posting death threats to other members. Well, I'd say we've got a serious problem.
