I've hung out with people who need help with things like PDF conversions and dropboxes. It can take time to figure out even with help, and befuddlement is also consistent with sleep deprivation.

Bye now.

What I wonder is, if I register my skepticism (again: last time it had to do with my feeling that
RIers were taking less than five entirely too seriously),
will we "lose another day" and will this post get lost like the last one?

Sorry, just kidding sort of. But less than five mos def don't pass the smell test.

Hi Nordic.

Since I think that I have:

1. given decent evidence that I am who I say I am.

it seems to me that:

2. publicly and openly fooling with a large group of people would be a rather stupid idea.

My feeling, anyway.

I'm sorry your patience is "down on E" (E= Empty? or is it E,F,G,H,I, etc ?)

Perhaps it's that you're a product of the TV generation, and expect things to resolve themselves before the final credit roll.

If that is true, my ramblings (and make no mistake, they are ramblings), may not be for you.

Sir, may I suggest that you consider "turn the channel". I believe there's always something else on.

Thank you, crikkett.

The weird thing is that I consider myself pretty computer savvy.

But this pdf was not corrupted, it opened fine when i launched the executable from my desktop.

It was only after I dled it from dropbox's servers that the file displayed as corrupted.

Sleep dep just adds a whole layer of fog, anger and disorientation, it makes you want to quit instead of hanging in there.

What is the point of proving who you are? It really doesn't matter to me in the least....and I don't think it matters to most of us here......people have no idea who anyone really is here but we care deeply about each other...we have become close over years...we know each other because of YEARS of posting....no one has ever had to post their BC for me to care about them...to care about their feelings...to think about them when they talk of being sad, angry, hurt...it takes time to know and care about someone not a frickin piece of paper that has been photo copied...you can't make people care about you overnight here or in the real world

Quit being so weird Mike. Sure, you've stated who you are. Sweet. Ur doing teh internet wrong. Or just maybe you're doing the Internet right.

Join in the thousands of ongoing conversations (every thread is still open for business) here and hang out like the rest of us do.

I have a question. Just a small one. What's with every comment of yours containing

___________________________________________________________________________________

multiple lines?

In writing class they teach you to make the reader want to come to you, care about your characters, involve them in the plot. Well, we've gathered about your flame and you have yet to deliver. We're still waiting for the plot. Knowing what I know about RI, I would say you've become your own plot. Any normal human would think how you've come here and what you're not going on about would be a little suspect. All of us know to not toss out personal information on the web. Yet, you did. Why? Most of us probably immediately ran a search on you -- I did. Simply because, we're all "who the fuck is this new guy?"

And yes, your life is an X-Files episode according to me. You couldn't write a better script.

You got your Sheldrake and "forensic scientist" who had 9/11 dreams quote.

You got your dude that comes in like a non time traveling John Titor.

You got your sleep deprivation and dreamline content.

You got your skepticism about who you really are.

You got your weird way of formatting your posts and comments.

You got your strange "OCCUPY THIS THREAD" thing which was moved to where it belongs. It contained ZERO information about why the reader should care.

You got your bizarre will to give us personal information about your whereabouts.

The list goes on.

It's not that hard to get why people here are wondering what the next part of the plotline is. We've seen weirder shit happen on these boards. And since we've seen the weird, we're left wondering why you have so much weirdness following you about your life. All the fingerprints point to it. Everyone keeping up with this thread has an honest question for you. You've done a good job of answering them I suppose. I guess the question now is why? Ultimately why? Again, why should we care? If you've got a bombshell, drop it!
There is no me. There is no you. There is all. There is no you. There is no me. And that is all. A profound acceptance of an enormous pageantry. A haunting certainty that the unifying principle of this universe is love. -- Propagandhi

Personally, I care comparatively little whether or not contributors on a message board are "who they say they are" because I'm less interested in "who they are" than I am in "what they have to say."

Even if I disagree with what they say, actually saying something would matter more to me than just provably being somebody.

well, I've inspected both the PDFs and FYI, they are free of embeded javascripts, just plain ol' PDFs. In case anyone was wondering.

Interesting how we have 9/11 convergences on this board. I guess that's part of the reason some of us are here. Summer 2001, I was living in Finnsbury Park, London, of all places on Seven Sisters Road. Every day on my way to the tube station, I walked past the Mosque and its book store, and I clearly remember thinking all summer that it was a strange place. I moved to London in early July. On September 11th, I was packing my office for the return home when I got the news. Needless to say, the return was interesting and not quite as planned.

Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

OK, down to an outline.

A structure for me to fill in

This may change with time.

.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
.

1. A review of my dreams before 9/11. What did I dream of? Why?

2. What changed during that week? In my life, and in my dreams? Why did my life fall apart after this dream?

3. Why was this dream special? Why didn't I just roll over and forget it, as I do with all my other dreams?

4. Calculating the true odds that this was pure coincidence: doing so in a fully scientific way, one that will pass muster with the scientific community.

5. If this wasn't coincidence, then what?

6. The Signal.

7. Who or what sent it, if it was indeed sent? Or was it not sent by anything, but a glimpse into the future?

8. Am I a passive or active receiver of the signal? Is there something unusual about me, or was I randomly chosen?

9. The Darwinian argument: does it hold water?

10. How many others are like me? How do we unearth them?

11. The ultimate purpose of remote dreaming, if there is one.

.
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Please be patient with your questions. I will do my best to answer each and every question asked here.

Also, please be patient with me. I still only sleep an hour or two a night, and the rest of the time I am in a perpetual state of falling in and out of sleep, so much so that some of the time I can't separate dream from reality.

I fall asleep on the subway, at dinner, in the bathtub, etc, etc.,, yet when I lay down on a bed . . . nothing.

Finally, with your permission, I'd like to engage outside experts to comment on this both pro and con. Rupert Sheldrake and Richard Dawkins seem like obvious initial choices.

Thanking you for your time and patience,

michael
