How does one of the most foul stand-up comics in the country land the lead character in a G-rated Disney movie?

I have tried not to dwell on or question that too much, lest this all be a dream. But according to Brad Bird, he heard my first album, "Feelin' Kinda Patton," and the bit I did about steak houses, and he said, "That's the rat" and brought me in. I was a foodie and I knew a lot of the restaurants where they had done their research, and I knew a lot of stuff about restaurants and how f****d up restaurants are, which they were trying to fit into the movie in a very G-rated way. I think my enthusiasm got me the part.

Volume 5 of the "Looney Tunes Golden Collection" just came out and I had forgotten just what a force of anarchy and chaos Daffy Duck was in those early Warner cartoons.

Oh yeah. Daffy Duck, I'm telling you, he's the progenitor. I think he settled in the subconscious of all these great comedians of the '60s and '70s as the comedic anti-hero. The roots of Larry Sanders, the roots of David Brent [in the U.K. version of "The Office"], the roots of Frank Burns [in "M*A*S*H"], the roots of all of these hateful but hilarious characters are all in Daffy Duck. Bugs Bunny is very funny too, but he's very cool and collected. Daffy Duck is always out of his element and very self-important. Everything that Martin Mull and Albert Brooks did, you can trace it all back to Daffy Duck.

You know, this question reminds me of the first thoughts that came to mind when I first read the words "keyword hijacking" here. I thought of how the NSA was able to capture my keystrokes as I typed out a gmail, and even as I erased and edited my words, they were still able to hijack my original keystokes. I don't know if this is true or not, but I think I read somewhere something to this effect.

I consider Patton Oswalt the best damn comedian since Bill Hicks.

Ive never seen a comedian that dangerous in what he references since watching old Hicks videos.

Yet, somehow he landed the lead role in Disney's star cartoon this year.

I wish I had on tape some of the stuff Ive heard Oswalt say on stage, it definately teters on the Alex Jones/Bill Hicks stuff at times
