AD, do you know what would be nice? It would be nice if you said what you had to say directly. By which I mean, I wonder why you posted that article on this thread, and would like not only to ask you that, but also to receive a more informative reply than, "All will be revealed in time" or "Some of your premises are false," or "The future lies ahead," or whatever. I mean, this is not a competition. And speaking for myself, anyway, I would and always will choose the chance to become better-informed over the chance to be proven right, each and every time those two options might present themselves.

Why are you posting a Mark Evans partial recap of Lyndon LaRouche's life and work, that segues into a hypothesis that Chip Berlet and Dennis King are going out of their way to publicize the major evil and extreme threat that Larouche really does represent less because he really does represent it than because they're in cahoots with establishment powers for whom it's useful to have him out there drawing attention from the major evils and extreme threats that they themselves represent on this thread?

IOW: It's not clear to me what you're saying or what direction you're heading in. What are you saying?

Thanks in advance for helping me become better informed.

c2w

ON EDIT: corrected typo.

Hi c2w-

I actually posted the LaRouche article here by mistake. It may be more relevant to chiggerbit's Gunderson thread, to which I will move it now.

As to my indecisive comments in the past, they are because I'm somewhat...undecided. Especially in regards to Desert Fae, Jimmy Hughes and all of that. I do believe that in time we will know much more.

The article on LaRouche I posted because I thought it might be useful to people here. My personal opinion is that LaRouche is evil, and that even while Berlet and to a somewhat lesser degree King, are fucked up too, they do have some good info on LaRouche. So it's like many things that I might post, or read- it's not necessarily that I believe every word down to the last punctuation point but rather that for the critical thinker reading may be useful...

Thanks. I'm sorry I've been so sharp-tongued with you. I will try my very hardest not to misunderstand you in the future. And, perhaps, even learn to understand you! Eventually!

I also want to make it generally clear that I don't think anyone -- VM or Rachel -- is bogus or wrong or fraudulent or anything like that. I don't know that either is or isn't. I see points in favor of each and have questions regarding each. But that's pretty much how I approach everything in the deep-politicosphere, so it's more of a reflection on it than it is on anyone in it. And....I'm also probably jumpier than I need to be because I know it to be a dangerous place and I worry. I may try to explain this in more neutral and less individualized terms if I can think of a way to do that.

Honestly, though, I probably just worry too much.

Today's LA Times:

Victim's daughter tracked suspect in Cabazon killings

The man she pursued, James Hughes, has been arrested in the deaths of her father and two other people.

By David Kelly
October 3, 2009

For years, Rachel Begley tracked the man suspected of killing her father and two other people in 1981. All three victims were gunned down in an apparent plot to silence them before they blew the whistle on corruption at the Cabazon Indian casino near Indio.

The scope of the conspiracy, with tentacles stretching across the nation and around the world, led investigators to dub the slayings the Octopus Murders.

Last Saturday, Begley's efforts paid off with the arrest of 52-year-old James Hughes, the director of a Miami-based ministry and self-described former Mafia hit man. Hughes stands accused of murdering Begley's father, Ralph Boger; former Cabazon Vice Chairman Alfred Alvarez; and their friend Patricia Castro.

Hughes, an ex-U.S. Army Ranger and former security director at the casino, was arrested at Miami International Airport as he was about to return home to Honduras. Riverside County sheriff's detectives along with U.S. Customs agents took part in the arrest.

Begley followed Hughes' movements for two years and finally confronted him in 2008 at a religious conference in Fresno. She and Michael Alvarez, the son of Alfred Alvarez, checked in under assumed names and carried hidden cameras.

The event was sponsored by the Full Gospel Businessman Fellowship International. The group's website has an autobiography describing Hughes as a former "professional hit man for the Mafia."

"I know what it's like to cut the throat of a man, see a man die, or throw a man in the trunk of a car and take him to his death," he wrote.

Hughes recalled a hit when he "walked into the man's house one day, pulled out my pistol, and put a bullet in everybody's head. . . . I had been paid to kill one man but had killed half a dozen people. The rest were in the wrong place at the wrong time."

When it came time for his speech, Begley secretly filmed it. Afterward, she approached Hughes and introduced herself as Ralph Boger's daughter.

With the camera still running, Hughes turned on her and Alvarez.

"Your parents got killed in a Mafia hit. That's life. That's what happened," he said. "Your parents were involved in some very dangerous things -- your dads. That's the only thing I can tell you. . . . I want to forget about the past. . . . I don't live there anymore."

He told Alvarez that he knew his father and had ridden motorcycles with him.

"Your dad and I were friends. He talked to somebody, they gave an order and that's what happened to him," he said. "It's a lot bigger than the murder of this guy or that guy. You're talking political people. I have told you more than I should."

Hughes told Begley to back off.

"You have children. You don't want to put your children in danger," he said. "Those children need a mother."

Begley took that as a threat but thinks the video helped build a case against Hughes.

"Before I went in, I sat and thought about all the things that could happen, and there was a little fear, but more determination," she said. "The fear hit me afterward."

When Begley began looking into the Octopus case, she was overwhelmed. The stories went in every direction. There were connections with Saudi arms dealers, Nicaraguan Contras, the manufacturing of weapons on Indian land, renegade private security companies and a journalist who apparently committed suicide while investigating it.

"A lot of it was lies, but a lot of it was true. I was able to confirm it," she said. "I was finally able to persuade the police to assign a detective to it. I just kept badgering them until they finally listened."

Begley, 41, worked closely with the detective as authorities began closing their net around Hughes.

At the time of the killings, the Cabazon casino -- run by a tribe of 25 -- was small but growing. Alvarez was troubled by reputed mobsters skimming casino profits and decided to take his evidence to the authorities.

But he never got the chance. On June 29, 1981, he, Boger and Castro were each shot in the head with a .38-caliber handgun as they sat on the back patio of his home.

In 1985, the Los Angeles Times reported that Alvarez had told a local newspaper that he feared for his life. Hughes told police that he had been ordered to take $25,000 to Idyllwild to partly pay off an unidentified man for the murders.

But the investigation stalled and Hughes left the country.

He returned in 1995 as head of Jimmy Hughes Ministries, helping abused women and drug addicts throughout Central America.

Begley said she's continuing to investigate the Octopus.

"There are still dangers involved," she said. "But I was in a lot more danger when I was not so public."

Well, it's sure looking like I was wrong about desertfae, although I think that if you read the previous 17 pages it's not hard to see why there might have been doubts.

Anyway, it's looking like it's time for this:

Rachel, I'm truly sorry if I made you feel unsupported and unbelieved and I wish you many, many great successes in your future battles with the Octopus.

I'm hoping that this is only the beginning and that some serious Justice and Truth will be the ultimate outcome from all of this.

Sincerely,

American Dream

Now the focus shifts to VM,, can she now explain to us why she went on record saying that Rachel was an actress in an ARG?

However, none of this changes the fact that she works with TG and MR. That remains THE ISSUE as far as I am concerned.

And yeah, me too.

I still have reservations re Rachel's judgement, but her identity should no longer be in serious doubt.

Yes, very important point. Neither of those two deserves much trust at all.

If TG had approached me 5 years ago and offered help to me in my own quest for information, I have no doubt at all that I would have accepted it. But that shouldn't destroy my own credibility, to my way of thinking. Just because a slick, practiced predator worms himself into someone's life doesn't automatically invalidate his prey. Or, rather, it shouldn't.

Most folks here are so far down the rabbit hole that we're hypersensitized to any whiff of crooked complicity with the bad guys. There's a rush to pile onto posters who may simply have fallen for a con. Not sure that tendency can be cured, but it sure as hell needs to be reined in to the best of our ability IMHO.

Absolutely agreed. Ted Gunderson has demonstrably "befriended" all kinds of people who clearly are for real. However, we should always have our antennae up about whether he is influencing things in a negative direction. Indeed this seems pretty clearly to be what his track record is.

Michael Riconosciuto does not seem so different, either...

I am not so sure about that, I have met him countless times and it takes 5 minutes to know what he is all about.

Of course I am not a vulnerable person which is what he pretty much preys upon, and such people cling to anyone who will listen to them and take them seriously.
