Loads of other good stuff in the archives. The interview with Joe Bageant in July 07 is very good. He is the guy who wrote the excellent book, "Deer Hunting with Jesus".

Joe Bageant has quickly become one of my favorite authors. His background and mine are somewhat similar (I'm a barely-reformed redneck who grew up on a farm outside of a hick town of 500 residents).

The interview is very good Jeff. IMO anyway.

Neon - I listened to JB's interview and was mightily impressed. This is a guy with whom I could share a few beers. I suppose I could be described as a redneck who went to college. I still like heading into the wilderness with a fishing rod. Change that...I LOVE it.

Yeah, I made it off to college as well. At some point, I decided I didn't want to shovel cow hooey & mend barbed-wire fences while watching myself go broke for the rest of my life.

Now I'm a wage slave working in an office, watching myself go broke.

I really miss the old farm equipment, especially the tractors, but not a whole lot else about farming. However, I get real itchy if I'm stuck inside of a city for very long; I just gotta get out where I can see the sky & countryside.

Yep, I credit Peter Dale Scott's writings and Paul Thompson for steering me clear of the short sighted "Bush and Cheney masterminded 9/11, al Qaeda doesnt exist" bland and banal 'new truth' as ya call it.

What Scott presents, has always presented, is truly food for thought that to be rises way beyond Chomsky's views of the world.
