I love how the "liberal" media has been all over this. Not.

Pathetic.
You can bet the rest of the world is seeing these.
Us? We hear all about Jon Edwards, a guy who's not even a candidate.

Not only is he drunk, he is rocking the short-sleeve button-up shirt.

The article also shows how his arm is all scraped up. He's obviously suffered a nasty fall (which he probably didn't feel one bit)

So embarrassing. But then everything about this country['s government/politics] has been embarrassing (at minimum) for a long time now.
Disgusting.

Yeah, and now he's inches away from having started a war with Russia.
Nice going.

Bad Sushi
Maybe it's just an aversion to eastern food like those russians seem to have to a western diet.

I thought Wonkette's ruthless skewering of the mainstream media's playing down of how seriously drunk Bush seems was very welcome. He's clearly on a bender, no doubt about it.

If Bush II was largely sober for the last 8 years then i think his falling off the wagon can only be a good thing. Between
in vino veritas and being a less functional puppet, he might suddenly be worth watching.

Looks to me like he barely could remember how to walk when he got back

Looks like he walking a tightrope. Unca Dick's back there threatening to punch him again if he so much as stubs a toe.

It reminds me of a headline we had in the satiric Canadian press many prime ministers ago (OK, Brian Mulroney)...
DRUNK WITH POWER

Sometimes I wonder if stuff like this is somewhat staged. I'm not saying that Bush wasn't drunk, but I also believe that negative press can be pretty well managed.
The reason I bring this up is because I've noticed that there's a particularly hate-filled segment of the right wing demographic that absolutely LOVES it when Bush curses or makes references to getting drunk. I have an uncle who considers himself to be a real rugged "no nonsense" kind of guy who worships Fox News, cursed heavily, and drinks himself into a blackout every day after work. He's the type of moron who screamed about going to a mosque to fist-fight Muslims on 911. He adores it when Bush acts arrogant or fucked up. In fact, he actually seems to view Bush as some sort of maverick John Wayne type who isn't afraid to "bend the rules" to protect America, and who's such a real man that he gets stinking drunk regularly.
Between him and John McCain, we've basically got the Ronald Reagan/Marlboro Man "rugged individualist" image being run into the ground. I guess if it worked in the 80s...

Well, that and "hating Bush" is the new "cool". The more one hates him, the more they will be
eternally grateful when someone "new" comes in (and perhaps ignore the same old "bad" that will come with them).

No kiddin. I"m stunned that his handlers let him out in public. These people are not stupid and they realize that no appearance at the olympics is better than a drunken one. His arm is scabbed and bloody, I saw that in one photo. Obviously he was in no shape to make a public appearance.
Even though he is the president, I have to believe there is a covey of people in the executive branch that do actually over rule him in times like this. Lets say they had to physically keep him out of the public eye and he was pissed and raving about it. No doubt he would probably have woken up in the morning with a blistering hangover saying to himself, "thank goodness they didn't let me out"...
I can't imagine why they let his drunken ass out in public. B Moon made a good point. But even to make the public hate him so we would love Obama even more isn't worth an international embarassment considering that the U.S. has been trashing the rest of the globe with its wars and financial shenanigans. This just defies logic. But accidents happen, and it might be that simple. Maybe somebody just made a bad call.
