At least 10 killed in German school shooting

WINNENDEN, Germany – A gunman opened fire randomly at a high school in southern Germany on Wednesday, killing at least 10 people and injuring others before fleeing the scene, police said.

Germany's n-tv reported that police said the suspect was dressed in a black combat uniform.

Regional police spokesman Klaus Hinderer said students were among the 10 killed, but he had no further details.

The shooter entered Albertville high school in Winnenden at 9:30 a.m. and opened fire, shooting at random, before fleeing, police said.

Police warned area residents not to pick up anyone in their cars as they searched for the suspect, described by Germany's N24 television as a 17-year-old former student who was known to police.

Hinderer could not confirm media reports that the shooter was a former student at the school.

Hinderer said the suspect fled toward the center of Winnenden, a town of 28,000, Hinderer said. The school was evacuated.

About 1,000 children attend the school, located in a suburb some 12 miles (20 kilometers) northeast of Stuttgart.

Seems like there have been a rash of folks flipping out and killing their families and going on rampages recently (Cleveland last week, for instance). Then again, it always seems like there's a rash of folks flipping out and going on rampages, anymore. These waves almost don't merit that much attention at this point, which indicates to me that there probably should be more attention focused on the phenomenon.

That strikes me as a very acute observation.

1:27 p.m. : The death toll increases to 16. Police announce that 17-year-old Tim K. has been shot.

1:59 p.m. : At a press conference in Winnenden, the investigators announce that Tim K. graduated from the Albertville Secondary School in 2007. Helmut Rau, the state's minister of education, says that the young man was "never conspicuous" at the school and began a vocational training program after graduating. According to Rau, Tim K. had apparently had a "double identity."

4:30 p.m. : As SPIEGEL later learns, the police search for bullet casings on a street near a DPD parcel distribution center in the Wendlingen industrial zone.

5:20 p.m. : A police spokeswoman announces that the police have learned from the latest information available that the Winnenden school killer apparently committed suicide by shooting himself in the head.

I wonder if the fact that it was a full moon last night is a coincidence as well.

V-tech happened on April 16th, with a new moon on the 17th.

Columbine happened on April 20th, which also happens to be Hitlers birthday, as well as the world's stoners day (4/20).

3 scenarios i can think of:
- Gladio style psyop to terrorize the population into thinking they need more law enforcement.
- Some kind of blood ritual (assuming the PTB have occult leanings)
- A natural phenomena of surges in violence during certain astrological events.

None of these scenarios are mutually exclusive and could definitely be a combination of the three.

Investigator Siegfried Mahler said authorities had learned that the suspect was treated for depression in 2008, with five visits to a psychiatrist between April and September at an area clinic. He was supposed to continue the treatment at another clinic, but apparently did not show up, Mahler said.

OK guys, which clinic? Might that be the same psychiatric clinic where he just happened to pass by and kill .... the gardener? Why doesn't the media ask or look into this obvious question? And why did I just ask the preceding question?

These are good conjectures, esotericmetal. Certainly, it seems to be common wisdom that violence increases during a full moon, but I don't know if statistics bear that out. Maybe I'll give it a google later on. The psyops angle makes sense, too. Oddly enough, given as much time as I've spent reading RI, I'd never considered your other idea, some kind of blood ritual. That's really intriguing.

I think it would be interesting for the more mathematically inclined among us to plot the frequency of killing sprees in some way. Are they really increasing? Do they increase during certain times of year? Do they increase in correlation with some other variable?

And for cartographers, how about locations? Is there any pattern that comes up? I dunno, geographic features? Geologic features, perhaps (thinking of how some areas of I think it's limestone concentrations seem also to be areas of paranormal activity)? Electromagnetic properties? Ley lines?

Or how about sociological data -- is it more likely to be lower, middle, or upper class folks who spree kill? Are the towns they live in culturally similar? Do the local populations have similar demographics in some way? Does this happen in third world countries or Western countries or Asian countries (by "this" I mean specifically people snapping and killing family and/or further spree killing)? More likely to be employed or unemployed -- "going postal", i.e., workplace killings, is certainly part of the picture, but do those account for the majority?

I guess I'd like to get away from the simple psychological profiling that seems to be the way most people look at it. Everyone wants to know why a particular individual did it -- and so do I -- but I'd like to know why it's a phenomenon. It seems like looking for some kind of pattern might help reveal any sort of hidden hand, but that's just the way I naturally think. Maybe there are no real connections.

Heck, there's probably a book examining just these issues that I don't know about. If so, maybe someone can point me toward it.

Lovely. Let's further stigmatize people living with DID/MPD by making an apparently completely unfounded statement about a murderer's motivation arising from the disorder.

That said, if it turns out that the young man was being treated for a dissociative disorder, then the possibility exists that he was being manipulated/mind controlled. Though in that case, I'd expect a cover-up to already have kicked in.

A few things of interest. The full moon connection. A similar event occurring at a similar time in Alabama. For some reason I've heard way more about the Germany event than the Alabama one? These things definitely reek of mind control whether intentional or otherwise.

I was wondering if you could direct me to the law (or other mechanism)
that authorizes the deployment of regular U.S. Army personnel along side
civilian law enforcement on non-federal property? This case does not
seem to fit any of the exceptions to the Posse Comitatus Act. Perhaps I

The Fort Rucker soldiers appeared to be carrying sidearms. Were they, in
fact, carrying sidearms? If so, what were the rules of engagement on
