A certain other forum that shall not be named has imploded

It became the refuge for the most implacable, unreasoning, pizza munching, six feet under DUers. They were at first welcomed. "Isn't DU horrible?" they all commiserated. But when you put that many disruptive people together, well...



After they used various nuclear options on each other, the only thing left there is cockroaches and Cher. It reads like a post apocalyptic wasteland.

I hope they read this -- considering that 90% of their traffic was trashing DU and various DUers, so I'm sure they read here every day -- and if they do I will be very entertained by their reactions!

One day I was thinking about joining this forum when I noticed a thread called, "JackRiddler: King of the Limited Hangout," which had about 14 implicit and explicit falsehoods and still-beating-your-wife accusations in just a few spare lines. Answering it would have required about 15 times the effort and length of the original, and would have inspired an avalanche of further bullshit from the poster. In case that didn't discourage me, the responses were not objections or even substantive agreements: just sort of meaningless tangential grunts.

I feel really grateful that I have no fucking clue what you're talking about or what this thread refers to. Sounds like I'm only missing out on an ocean of horseshit, eh?

Sorry Jack I didn't see that when it happened. There were some very decent folks at PI, very decent, very good friends of mine.

well it sort of is, but in a lot of ways its tragedies and comedies are too bloody obvious to absorb a lot of bandwidth here.

Since I've managed to get myself stuck in the middle of this mess, I believe people deserve to know a few basic facts that effect everybody here.

The site is now under the administration of the remaining membership. They have access to the website files and they have rearranged, deleted and edited many of the posts and threads on the forum. They also have access to everyone's account info.

This is a breach of trust and the agreement we signed when we joined the forum.
