Alex Jones Threatens To Sue Facebook Over New Initiative To Fight Fake News, Which He Claims Is A CIA Plot
....
Jones described the initiative as a “blacklist” that would involve “burying news, like the communist Chinese do.” He said the announcement heralded “the end of free internet.”
....
Jones was recently caught by Media Matters scrubbing his website of content promoting the false and dangerous conspiracy theory that Hillary Clinton’s campaign trafficked children through a D.C. pizzeria (numerous pizzagate posts still remain on his website). The criminal complaint filed after a man fired an assault rifle in the pizzeria indicated that the suspect had recently shared a video created by Jones about the conspiracy.

Alex Jones Allegedly Couldn’t Recall Basic Facts About His Kids Because He Ate ‘A Big Bowl Of Chili’
Jones is currently locked in battle with ex-wife Kelly Jones, who wants the court to remove his full-custody status of their three children. The two divorced in 2015, and she argues that he’s unstable because his Infowars episodes include threats to break Alec Baldwin’s neck and recommendations for Jennifer Lopez to visit Somalia and be “gang raped.” Those are valid concerns from any mother, but Jones’ attorney has argued that he’s simply acting, i.e., “performance art.”
Well, Jones hasn’t ripped his shirt off in open court yet, but he’s not having a first great day in court, and his attorney, Randall Wilhite, may need some de-stressing mechanisms soon. Of great importance on Twitter is a tweet from Buzzfeed News’ Charlie Zarzel, who posted a statement from Kelly Jones’ attorney, Bobby Newman. Apparently, Alex previously couldn’t remember (during a deposition) “what grade his kids were in” because he had just eaten “a big bowl of chili.”
...
Ben Hartman tweeted that Jones was seen “making faces” and “shaking his head” in the court room after Newman stated that his live-in girlfriend “does private hotel massages.”
...
Jones is expected to soon testify on the difference between his public image and private self. Oooh boy.
And according to the Austin American-Statesman‘s Jonathan Tilove, Newman has stated that Alex told his children to secretly record their mother in an effort to dig up something incriminating against her. Also, Newman asserts that Alex has already recruited his kids into the Infowars fold, which has exposed them to alleged death threats.

Is InfoWars' Alex Jones Actually a Performance Artist?

It's like they're not of this planet sometimes.
Will they later ask this question about the world's most successful producer of Reality TV, who got his series into the White House? Will they ask it as though they never noticed it as a possibility, and as though a yes answer would be something shocking and unprecedented?
Here's a reframing of the question:
What proportion of those engaged in U.S. (or most countries') commercial or otherwise paid-for media production in front of the camera in the year 2017 are not primarily performance artists? Of those who are not, how long have they been at this and how long are they likely to last?
.

In my question reframing, of course I meant political/news media. As you obviously gathered anyway.
The point is, if you want to be in the industry and you are not a very good actor or writer, or if your mug is too ugly, but if you are nevertheless a decent showman and good at developing and extemporaneously playing a single distinctive persona based on your own self, and if you can blather on for hours in a way that plays well to a given demographic, then you too may have the qualities for a career in the increasingly overlapping and indistinguishable forms of performance art known as guerilla news production, campaign politics, TV talk or news show host, vlogger and/or business reporter. Ideal for sociopaths!

At court, Alex Jones acknowledged he had smoked marijuana in Texas, violating the law, at least two years ago because he wanted to determine its strength. He said his intention was to try the substance once a year but later discovered it was too strong and shouldn’t be legalized.
“That’s what police do. They smoke it once a year too,” Jones claimed.
“I talked about it on the air,” he said of his marijuana smoking in Texas.
The Austin-based host also accused philanthropist George Soros of funding a marijuana legalization campaign — echoing his “InfoWars” broadcast.
