“Loch Ness Monster” – the Scottish paedophile nexus

Postby semper occultus » Sun Mar 21, 2010 6:15 pm

First off - a bit of an announcement.
My previous thread on this subject was locked on the basis of linking to 2 nazi web-sites. The first site I did link to – through carelessness - & have apologised to the site-owner for metaphorically walking dog-s**t onto the hallway carpet.
My second link was to David Icke’s site & when the post was being moderated this was mistakenly taken as David DUKE !.
I wasn’t too happy so anyone reading the original comment to that effect please be aware I am not in any way shape or form a sympathiser with or disseminator of the views of nazi scum like Duke & his ilk.

To the post….

Context

The ‘Magic circle’ in Scotland is a description that some Scottish citizens assert applies to a collective ring of purported establishment individuals who have engaged in sexual deviations, homosexual practices and paedophilia.

Twinned with this assertion, there is an overall contention by these same Scottish citizens that there was/is a conspiracy by these purported establishment figures that in order to foster and further their depraved ends they pervert the course of justice.

In Scotland the level of accusations rose to a fever pitch in the late eighties early nineties. Thus Lord Nimmo Smith was commissioned as a joint author of the Report on an Inquiry into an Allegation of a Conspiracy to Pervert the Course of Justice in Scotland (1993).

To readers of a board like RI such a concept has, sadly , reached a state almost of the common-place so the question arises are there aggravating or particular circumstances & factors at work that somehow serve to elevate the Scottish situation into a “special” case , an exemplar ?

That’s difficult – I am not out really to prove a legal case , convince anyone else , still less to pursue some vendetta towards the hugely decent & honest majority of people in Scotland but I do believe there is sufficient material to make an interesting & important essay .

“ Magic Circle” though seems altogether too benign an expression – I rather favour the image of the “Loch Ness Monster” the better to capture a sinister , shapeless entity inhabiting the inner-void whose tentacles fleetingly break the surface of normality , its “occult” & mysterious character a challenge to mainstream beliefs about the nature of our reality.

Some examples of this Monster have been :

The Lockerbie “investigation” / cover-up
The Dunblane “investigation” / “enquiry” & 100 year information embargo
The Hollie Greig child abuse case
( All the above involving the Grampian police force )
but this area is so vast & multi-faceted it is a full-time job to cover all the ramifications – encompassing as it seems to - all levels of

the political establishment
the judiciary & legal profession
the police
Masonic organisations
& exotic variations on the above such as the rumours about a gay network of semi-criminal elements who were alleged to have good police and legal contacts.

so I want to examine in particular the area of paedophilia to focus upon a milieu of
immoral & arrogant corruption that has spread to a national & international stage under the heel of the New Labour regime

background info

As a taster consider the following :

Child porn arrests 'too slow'
Sunday Herald, Jan 19, 2003

OPERATION Ore, the police inquiry which plans to arrest a further 7000 men across the UK, in addition to Who guitarist Pete Townshend, for buying child pornography online is set to end in disaster with many suspects walking free.

Detective Chief Inspector Bob McLachlan, former head of Scotland Yard's paedophile unit, told the Sunday Herald that the lack of urgency in making arrests will lead to suspects destroying evidence of downloading child pornography before they are arrested.

The Sunday Herald has also had confirmed by a very senior source in British intelligence that at least one high-profile former Labour Cabinet minister is among Operation Ore suspects. The Sunday Herald has been given the politician's name but, for legal reasons, can not identify the person.

There are still unconfirmed rumours that another senior Labour politician is among the suspects. The intelligence officer said that a "rolling" Cabinet committee had been set up to work out how to deal with the potentially ruinous fall-out for both Tony Blair and the government if arrests occur.

Psychopathic weirdo Gordon Brown literally barges a man aside to give a Master Mason handshake to the Governor of the Bank of England.

Image

Let us begin in the 1970’s – a time of radical social ferment – where there emerged in Scotland an organisation called PIE.

This stood for the Paedophile Information Exchange

It was officially extant from 1974-82/84 ( dates vary ) , emerging as a special interest group within The Scottish Minorities Group (SMG) – a gay rights organisation founded in Glasgow in 1969.
Leading figures included Tom O’Carrol, Michael Hanson , Ian Campbell Dunn, Keith Hose, Warren Middleton, Steven Adrian Smith & David Joy.

Its activities could be summarised as internal networking within the paedo “community” , publishing magazines with sociological & psychological justifications for their behaviour , international contact with people such as leading Dutch politician & “boy loving” advocate
Edward Brongersma & propaganda / campaigning efforts directed towards interest-groups likely to be sympathetic & / or useful to the cause of child molestation.

In 1975 PIE attended a conference organized by MIND, the national mental health organization, where it submitted a 17-page document to the Home Office Criminal Law Revision Committee on the age of consent in which it proposed that there should be no age of consent, and that the criminal law should concern itself only with sexual activities to which consent is not given, or which continue after prohibition by a civil court.

As a little lad I recall the media storm that blew up when this organisation began to come to national attention. The story I specifically remember concerned an article written by or about O’Carroll & PIE’s ideas in a magazine for social-workers.
The general public were not , it is fair to say , receptive to the message.

But its early efforts were by no means in vain however :

In 1975 it was invited to affiliate to the civil-rights advocacy NGO the National Council for Civil Liberties – a status it continued to hold whilst 3 future New Labour politicians of the most senior level held top leadership positions in the NCCL :

Another group, Paedophile Action for Liberation, a Gay Liberation Front offshoot, had also been affiliated to NCCL until it was absorbed by PIE.

PIE, which campaigned for adults to have sex legally with children, only broke off its relationship with NCCL when it went undercover in 1982,

NCCL people were earlier involved in keeping the name of an NCCL council-member, Jonathan Walters, out of the People newspaper when it ran an exposé of Paedophile Action for Liberation, of which he was secretary, in 1975. The People still ran the story, but Walters was not named.

Even more extraordinary is the fact that a current Cabinet Minister was running the National Council of Civil Liberties at the time all this was going on.

The Rt Hon Patricia Hewitt MP, Secretary of State for Health, became General Secretary of NCCL in 1974. The very next year, 1975, NCCL invited the Paedophile Information Exchange and Paedophile Action for Liberation to affiliate. In the year after, 1976, the now-notorious paedophile Tom O'Carroll was invited to address the NCCL conference, which promptly voted to 'deplore' the use of chemical castration treatments for paedophiles.

Also in 1975, Patricia Hewitt joined the Campaign for Homosexual Equality, as a 'straight', in the same year that Keith Hose of the Paedophile Information Exchange addressed its second annual conference. Hose moved a motion of censure on the conference organising committee for 'relegating paedophilia to ancillary status in conference.' The motion was seconded by Trevor Locke, who just happened to be a member of the Executive Council of the NCCL. 'An awareness and acceptance of the sexuality of children is an essential part of the liberation of the young homosexual,' the motion went on. It was duly passed.

Before she became an MP < currently holding the position of Deputy Leader of the Labour Party >, Harriet Harman was the legal officer in the late 1970s for the National Council for Civil Liberties.
Jack Dromey, whom Harman married in 1982, and who is now Treasurer of the Labour Party, was also involved with the NCCL. He served on its Executive Committee from 1970 to 1979, so he was there when the decision to invite the two paedophile groups to affiliate was made. NCCL also set up a gay rights sub-committee at the same time, members of which included prominent paedophiles Peter Bremner (alias Roger Nash), Michael Burbidge, Keith Hose and Tom O'Carroll.

* link *

.

Winding up this first area of examination how would one sum-up the character of PIE & its membership ?

Helpfully , in 1978-9, the Paedophile Information Exchange surveyed its members and found that they were most attracted to girls aged 8-11 and boys aged 11-15.

PIE hasn’t gone away – it has ofcourse migrated into cyberspace. It still exists on the web under a new name.
Its (ex) members still come to the attention of the authorities :

Paedos' champ arrested

Underage sex campaigner jailed for 'abhorrent' child pornography collection

There’s one final full-stop to the PIE story when prosecutions started happening in 1978 :
five activists were charged with printing contact advertisements < > calculated to promote indecent acts between adults and children.
Others were offered lesser charges of sending indecent material through the mail if they testified against the five. These charges related to letters that the accused exchanged detailing various sexual fantasies.
It eventually became clear that one person had corresponded with most of the accused but had not been tried. After the trial, it emerged that there had been a cover-up: Mr "Henderson" had worked for MI6 and been a high commissioner in Canada.

There’s plenty more - & worse – material I want to cover as I formulate it in the near future.

It won’t be too coherent & it sure as hell won’t be pretty either.

I'll say just this. Neil Mackay is (was?) the best (only?) journalist in Britain. I used to read all his pieces for the Sunday Herald. On this particular topic, he is the only writer I can even bring myself to read, let alone trust. He paints some very disconcerting pictures, it is true.

Are you really gonna try and open this can of worms semper? Watch out where you go digging, you don't know what you might find. Not so easy to unfind either. We have already seen how this topic gets featured on some very shady, unpleasant sorts of websites which may even be disinfo for purposes of coverup.

I think we can rest assured it is something of a hot button topic.

That's probably all I shall have to say on this. I probably shouldn't have said this much.

But if anyone has a good link to Mackay's collected work, it would be appreciated. The google results for "neil mackay" and "neil mackay journalist" don't give a lot of good resources. It might be some folk are making it difficult to find his work easily. Having read many of his articles, I could well believe it. I still haven't had any luck finding out what he is up to these days. Perhaps someone here can help.

Here's a link to the Sunday Herald's archive, particularly the crime section... it has most of the stuff the investigative team have ever looked into, from Lockerbie to Eric Cullen and his abusers (on which more later) to the eccentric Donald Findlay QC (member of the Edniburgh Speculative Society), to the more recent and frankly bizarre case of Peter Tobin... which is something I've meant to post about here for a long time. Christ, just reading the list of articles reminds me what a strange country this is, if you have your eyes open:

http://www.heraldscotland.com/2.377/arc ... rime-7.783

The other sections of the archive are also worth checking out, particularly the investigation into the strange events at Deepcut barracks (now re-named Blackdown by the MOD, because Deepcut just wasn't creepy enough).

He is still with the Sunday Herald, and still going strong - though like everyone else he seems to have backed off from the "Magic Circle" allegations nowadays, probably due to George Robertson's successful libel case, which cost the paper dear (on which more later). He was runner-up for the reporter of the year award in 2008 at the Scottish Press Awards, and probably should've won it - but the Sunday Herald's chief reporter pipped him to the post by getting an exclusive interview with Abdelbaset Al Megrahi's wife {EDIT: Actually, no. He was pipped to the post by the political editor's scoop on Labour Leader Wendy Alexander taking undeclared financial donations from a businessman based in Jersey - on which more later - which forced her resignation).

Seems the Sunday Herald is still in good health, anyway, despite the uncomfortable truths it has revealed over the years:

Herald journalists on shortlist for Scottish Press Awards

The Herald has received nine nominations in the prestigious Scottish Press Awards.

The newspaper is recognised across a range of categories, from news and business reporting, to cartoons, sports writing and photography. Its sister papers received another six nominations, four for the Sunday Herald and two for the Evening Times.

The Herald's chief reporter Lucy Adams was nominated in two categories, for scoop of the year for her exclusive interview with the wife of the man accused of the Lockerbie bombing and for overall reporter of the year category.

...Last year, the Sunday Herald's Scottish political editor, Paul Hutcheon, won a hat-trick of honours: political journalist of the year, journalist of the year and scoop of the year. Ian Bell was named columnist of the year for his work in the Sunday Herald and investigations editor Neil Mackay was runner-up in the reporter of the year category.

I wish the rest of the British media, who seem to copy down whatever they get from AP and Reuters (or from official press-releases) would take note of this - actually investigating cases is not only a reporter's job, but it can also win you prizes! Give it a try sometime - you might like it.

As you've already discovered, Semper (and as Hammer says) these are some seriously murky waters to be looking into. It's like Loch Ness, right enough - and the far-right has been thrashing around in the mud for a while now, obscuring things even further, and discreditting it in the minds of the general public (perhaps not accidentally). It is akin to Gosch, Franklin, and PROMIS in that way. Any investigation ends up not only contending with the hugely powerful forces who stand accused of the the crimes, but with those who like to latch on and spin a subsidiary web of their own. Caution is advised, but I suppose that goes without saying now.

I think I'm going to have to double-post. ON EDIT: Have to come back to it tommorrow. There's a lot to say.

Re: “Loch Ness Monster” – the Scottish paedophile nexus

Postby semper occultus » Mon Mar 22, 2010 7:36 pm

Hi Hammer & Ahab - I appreciate your wise words - a can of worms Hammer ? possibly more a shipping container full of vipers.
My sources will be as good as I can make them although I have come across some anonymous specific & repulsive allegations against Brown.

2. New Labour & the Monster

I posit the idea that New Labour is the main political manifestation of elements that I have analogised to the Loch Ness Monster & which I refer to simply as the “Monster” & that Scots influence – rather domination - of the New Labour government is hardly a matter of debate ( MPs tell Gordon Brown to purge his Scots ).

My last post explored political connections between leading figures in the New Labour establishment & paedophilia.
All along time ago it could be argued – so lets get more up-to-date :

Refering to Tony Blair’s wife – leading human rights barrister Cherie “Booth” we read in Sept 2000

Booth takes plea to free paedophile to Europe

THE Prime Minister's wife is to challenge the Government in the European Court of Human Rights over its treatment of a paedophile who is facing a return to jail for breaching a court order……which prohibited him from having anything to do with children under 16.

In July 1999, he was released on licence after being given an 18-month prison sentence for outraging public decency. Undercover police kept watch on him. Within three days, they logged nine suspicious incidents in which Brown was seen watching children or behaving indecently. He was immediately recalled to prison.

In October 1999, Avon and Somerset police obtained one of the first sex offender orders to be granted under the 1998 Crime and Disorder Act. Brown was required not to seek contact with children and was released from prison a few days later.

He went straight to the seaside resort of Torquay and within 15 hours police saw him accosting a 14-year-old boy outside a McDonald's restaurant. He was arrested the next day after trying to lure a 13-year-old boy with a £5 note and a 14-year-old boy with a novelty key ring

Miss Booth's first attempt to challenge the sex offender order was dismissed by the High Court in April. One of her arguments was that the written order made by magistrates at Bridgwater was invalid because it contained a double negative.
Miss Booth also failed to persuade him that the order was contrary to the European Human Rights Convention, which says that any interference with a person's private life must be no more than is necessary to protect the public.

OK so lawyers pimp themselves out to anyone & besides she’s not in the government – she just happened to belong to a profession that stood to make millions from her husband’s passing of the Human Rights Act – could happen to anyone.

So lets move swiftly on to a middle-ranking mediocrity by the name of Margaret Hodge who was Labour leader of Islington Council in London before being "talent" spotted into Blair's government.

A couple of interesting facts about Hodge …
We learn from The Independent & the Wiki entry that :
Her husband, Henry Hodge, was a solicitor who gave Cherie Blair her first brief as a barrister & was also a Chairman of the National Council for Civil Liberties

how wonderfully cosy - oh & that’d be the same National Council for Civil Liberties that invited “PIE “ to affiliate with it.

And also – unfortunately enough that

Victims of child abuse say Hodge did not listen to paedophile claims by senior social workers
The Islington child abuse scandal has dogged her since 1992 when the London Evening Standard exposed how, for two decades, children in the borough's care homes were molested, driven into prostitution and raped by people in positions of trust. Mrs Hodge initially derided the reports as "gutter journalism" but, within two years, accepted that there had been abuse and blamed her initial response on "misleading information" from officials.
Demetrious Panton, 35, Douglas Fitch, 28, and Yvonne Williams, 40….were subjected to abuse at the hands of different paedophiles in Islington children's homes, have horrific stories of the suffering they endured in the 1970s and 1980s.

Mr Panton, who had been placed in care at the age of 10, was one of the many victims of Bernie Bain, a notorious paedophile who was head of one of the borough's care homes. He complained about Bain on three occasions, in 1979, 1985 and 1992, but no action was taken by the council. Bain, whose predilection was for boys aged seven or eight, was never brought to trial in Britain.

Mr Fitch and his brother, Michael, were harassed by Roy Caterer, a sports instructor at a boarding school used by Islington. Caterer was sent to prison for seven and a half years for abusing seven boys and two girls.

Mr Fitch claims that Mrs Hodge should have listened to senior social workers who raised suspicions about paedophiles and has approached lawyers to sue her. He said: "I hold Hodge responsible for what happened to me and I will not rest until I get justice."

Ms Williams was sexually abused every day from the age of 10 for six years by Jeffrey Wildjones, the superintendent of her Islington- controlled home..
.

The New Labour government had the ideal job lined up for this individual when a new Government post was created for which she became its first incumbent :
Minister for Children.

3. Scottish Child Abuse

( WARNING : content as to be expected given the subject matter )

Question : To what extent can Scotland be deemed to have more than its fair share of organised abuse networks – both real & cyber & are there anomalies in the way they are dealt with ?

Operation Algebra
uncovered the following horror

Scottish paedophile ring found guilty of more than 50 charges

• Gay rights campaigner led double life as ringleader
• Two offenders abused children of close friends

Severin Carrell, Scotland correspondent
guardian.co.uk,
Thursday 7 May 2009
A ring of eight paedophiles, including a former welfare campaigner for young gay men, were today convicted of child abuse and producing indecent images of children. The men, from across central Scotland, were found guilty by a jury in Edinburgh of more than 50 charges, ranging from abusing infants from three months old to conspiracy and holding more than 125,000 images of child pornography.

Two of the leaders of the gang, the biggest paedophile network uncovered in Scotland, were convicted of raping and abusing the young children of close friends while they were babysitting, and sharing images of the abuse.

One, James Rennie, 38, then the chief executive of the gay and lesbian helpline LBGT Youth Scotland, had been babysitting the son of close friends, called Child F during the trial, since the child was three months old. The child's parents were so comfortable with Rennie that he was allowed to bathe, change and dress the boy, whom he went on to abuse repeatedly for four years, allowing another ring-leader, Neil Strachan, to participate.

An engineer with previous convictions for child sex offences, Strachan, 41, had photographed himself trying to abuse an 18-month-old boy he was babysitting for friends on New Year's Eve in 2005.

Rennie, a former secondary school teacher since sacked from the helpline, had championed the rights of young gay people. But in private, said Dorothy Bain QC, prosecuting, he had been "polluted by deviant compulsion".

The scum of Edinburgh
25 May 2007

THREE more men may face charges in connection with the worst paedophile ring ever uncovered in Edinburgh.
Two men and a woman are facing jail after being convicted of being part of a group of up to 15 adults who carried out horrific attacks on two young sisters.

But police revealed today they had identified three more men, aged between 40 and 65, whom they believe were part of the network. Details of the evidence against them have been passed to the procurator fiscal, who is considering possible charges.

Detectives in the force's sex crimes unit - who helped uncover the paedophile ring ten years after the girls' ordeal ended - today described the case as "the worst they had ever seen".

Yesterday, 50-year-old Morris Petch was found guilty of repeatedly raping both girls when they were about ten years old. He was convicted following a three-day trial at the city's High Court where he had denied taking part in the abuse.

Caroline Dunsmore, 43, and John O'Flaherty, 50, had earlier admitted their part in the abuse and Dunsmore gave evidence against her former friend. Another three men and a woman suspected of involvement died before their activities came to light.

The group of friends, up to 15-strong, systematically raped and molested the girls over the course of 12 years up to 1997, starting when one of them was just six.

The children never revealed the terrible secret, brainwashed instead into believing their ordeal was part of normal life.

The investigators pieced together a "horrific tale" of abuse involving more than a dozen more men and women. During eight months of interviews with the victims, they built up a picture of an extensive paedophile ring operating in the Capital.

Child sex predator unmasked and booted out of university after enrolling with false name
Feb 26 2010 Exclusive by Chris Musson

A CONVICTED child porn kingpin has been kicked out of university after fears he was preying on mums of young kids.

Paedophile Nicholas Dockray - who was jailed for four years in 2005 for running an international online porn ring - had hidden his past to win a place at university.

But his secret was exposed after a female student he had become close to discovered he was using a false name with her and checked on his true identity.

The woman, who has a number of young children, immediately alerted the university authorities.

The pervert, whose course included psychology and lectures on psychosexual behaviour, has now been booted out of Strathclyde University.

Paedophile admits to sending pictures around UK

Martin Williams
Published on 4 Mar 2010

A convicted sex offender at the centre of a paedophile ring linked to Scotland has admitted sending pictures around the UK using mobile phones.

Carl Gardner sent hundreds of pictures of children to other paedophiles.

Police said eight other suspected offenders linked to Gardner have so far been captured, including two from Scotland. Many more could follow as investigations continue.

Two Scottish police forces are among seven who are assisting Norfolk Police in the Operation Compile investigation.

Jehovah's Witnesses accused of building 'paedophile paradise'
The Jehovah's Witnesses Church in Scotland stands accused of sheltering child abusers and keeping secret files of known paedophiles within the organisation which it refuses to share with police.

After a successful prosecution over child abuse within a Jehovah's Witnesses family in Ayrshire, Scottish police are understood to be preparing to bring a further case to court in the northeast.

And yet whilst ready to prosecute in these cases there arise....anomalies :

Like Moira Anderson

Pressure on police to release paedophile dossier
Mark Macaskill, Scottish Home Affairs

A SECRET dossier said to identify members of a paedophile ring could be published within weeks, after the intervention of the Scottish information commissioner.
Kevin Dunion has been asked by the family of Moira Anderson, a schoolgirl who disappeared almost 50 years ago, to review a decision by Strathclyde police not to release the document that may identify her abductors.

The 11-year-old was last seen boarding a bus in Coatbridge, Lanarkshire, in 1957 during a heavy snowstorm. She was on her way to the shops to buy a box of chocolates for her mother’s birthday.

The dossier, written by James Gallogley, a convicted paedophile who died in Peterhead prison in 1999, is said to implicate senior public figures in the abuse of children in Strathclyde during the 1950s and 1960s. It is also believed to list vehicles and safe houses used in Glasgow, Monklands and Paisley where children were hidden before being taken to sex parties.

Strathclyde’s chief constable has refused to release the document, saying its publication could destroy any chance of solving the case.

And of course Hollie Greig

4. Operation Algebra : Operation Ore reloaded ?

A few discordant notes can be detected in the background even as authorities trumpeted the success of the roll-up of the Algebra paedophile network & announced the launch of Operation Alba - a new drive against the menace of organised paedophilia
We learn the main accused consisted of :

Ross Webber, 27, a bank worker from North Berwick, East Lothian; Neil Campbell, 46, a married bakery manager and church bell ringer from the affluent Glasgow suburb of Bearsden; Craig Boath, 24, an insurance claims adjuster from Dundee; John Milligan, 40, a civil servant from Glasgow; and John Murphy, 44, a trained teacher who was working as a receptionist at a gay sauna in Glasgow.

According to Lothian & Borders Assistant Chief Constable Iain Livingstone

"There is no stereotype for the type of person involved in this kind of crime against children. It covers every sphere of life and lifestyle.

So any BIG fish caught up in this trawl through the dregs of perversion ? Any potential embarrasment in the offing for the upper echelons ?
well something caught the eye of the authorities squirming & wriggling amongst the bottom-feeders & maggots :

Exclusive: Paedo operation cops swoop on BBC high-flyer
Nov 1 2009 Charles Lavery, Sunday Mail
A SENIOR BBC producer has been charged by police investigating Scotland's biggest paedophile ring.
Cops raided his offices at Beeb headquarters in London and confiscated home and office computing equipment.
As part of that inquiry, police in Scotland traced the producer to BBC HQ in London and alerted the Metropolitan Police. He has now been charged with offences against children and is awaiting trial.
A source said:
"He was at the top end of the scale of the inquiry.
Information was passed quickly south so it could be acted on."

How efficient – I expect the parents of Hollie Greig are envious of the speed & efficiency with which “high-flyers” are swept up in such sensitive investigations – but apparently so only when the investigative lead seem to divert attention so conveniently a LONG way south from what dirt may be in one’s own back-yard.
Still I am sure that the Scottish political establishment were keen to take the fight to the perverts in their midst ?

Oh…they killed Kenny – or at least seem to have stunned him into inactivity :

Kenny MacAskill under fire over Operation Algebra paedophile report

Scotland’s justice minister has been accused of “breathtaking” incompetence after admitting he has not read a report investigating the country’s largest paedophile network.

By Simon Johnson, Scottish Political Editor Published: 30 Oct 2009

Kenny MacAskill promised that “lessons will be learned” after two men from Edinburgh, the network’s ringleaders, were jailed for life.
But he said he had not read a wide-ranging report produced in the wake of the case, insisting he could not “micromanage” or tell police how to run operations.
Opposition parties said the admission was “astounding” and called for Mr MacAskill to make a ministerial statement about how registered sex offenders were monitored.
Police, Edinburgh City Council and the NHS produced a report in the wake of the case, but Mr MacAskill said he had not read the document.
“It's for the individual operating authorities to look at matters,” he told BBC Scotland.
“They have to consider where they look and learn, and if they want legislative changes they come to me.”

Mr Mcaskill has an interesting background

….the Scottish Government’s current Justice Secretary, Kenny MacAskill has long standing ties to Levy & McRae, the same law firm used by the Lord Advocate to threaten media publication of the Hollie Greig case.
Mr MacAskill is now known to have served his apprenticeship at Levy & McRae and also worked at the firm for a considerable time during his years as a solicitor.

Mere co-incidence - or does somthing unpleasant break the black waters of a deep dark Loch ?

Whoa... Now that was obvious. And there's no way a handshake so weird can have been accidental. ("REAL GRIP OF A MASTER MASON", according to that illustrated guide you appended.)

I'm not sure how this ties in with the paedophile rings, though - if at all. Do the Freemasons have any demonstrable history of involvement in the exploitation of children? In the west of Scotland, they do have the reputation of being very anti-Catholic, which can affect certain people's unemployment prospects and (notoriously) the results of the odd football match, etc. But beyond that, I have never been sure whether to regard them as being essentially very much more sinister than the Rotary Club or the Knights of St. Columbus. I mean, all old boys' networks and secret societies are at least slightly creepy and nepotistic (and therefore anti-democratic) - but is there anything specifically tying the Masons to paedophilia?

ON EDIT: Of course, Masonic judges are rumoured to go easy on fellow-Masons who land up in court on any charge, or to prevent the case reaching trial in the first place. I presume that's what your're getting at, semper occultus?

Hi Mac
I'm not sure where i'm going with this so no wonder you don't but there was this - FWIW

now I thought "Scottish Rite" actually originated in the US & isn't synonymous with Scottish Freemasonry per se - but I'm not sure that effects the basic point.

There a couple of other links I could make but they don't really relate to Scotland.

There were alleged masonic links with Dunblane child killer Thomas Hamilton & with NATO Chief George Robertson.

Some info is at the previous RI thread: Dunblane: aristocrats, Masons & Pedophilia.

Postman Patel (God Bless 'im) had the following to say on the subject of George Robertson:
Image
G W Bush and G Robertson were both born in 1946. GWB spent summer hols at the Perthshire farm of the Gemmell family whose son Bill(b.1952) not only was a mate of Tony Blair (b 1953) at Fettes but was best man at Bill's wedding and when GWB came to Lunnun and had a banquet with the Queen. Bill Gemmell was invited (as was US citizen Mrs Quinn who was, unkown to the public at large, mistress of Mr D Blunkett and eventually mother of his child).

Bill Gemmell's dad, big wheel in Edinburgh blue chip Merchant bank Sime Ivory was a major funder of Dubya's dads oil interests.

Mr G Robertson's rise without trace has always been a puzzle. A modest man , with a lot to be modest about.

Maybe if we hang around 100 years (or someone blows a whistle) we might have some light thrown on this fascinating subject.

.
This'll be a long post, or series of them. Long stretches of it may also be inhumanly dull, since I'm going to go through the Nimmo Smith report itself (figured it'd be best to start at the start).

I'd like to concentrate specifically on the "Magic Circle" allegations back in the late Eighties (before they became public) through to the mid-Nineties (before New Labour came to power - these kind of things, I reckon, are bi-partisan and cross-party, sadly) when the allegations were all over the news. For a while, anyway.

Before that, I just want to post up my own memories of the days when both Lockerbie and Dunblane happened. I have no big scoops from personal recollection on Lockerbie - was far too young - but I remember seeing it on the news and on the front of my Dad's Daily Record (he was a tabloid kind of guy) - and seeing the trench (in pictures) scattered with debris where the fuselage had come down, the houses with their roofs ripped open, and the clothes scattered everywhere - hanging from trees and chimney tops and fences. These were the clothes of the passengers on Panam Flight 103.

Not much later we learned that, of course, it wasn't just clothes that had come down, but people. Bodies had fallen from the sky in the middle of the night (in the run-up to Christmas) onto a peaceful and tiny Borders town. It was weird. It wasn't until some days later that there was mention of a bomb (I'll come back to this). Within days the jokes started going around, as they do. I was in primary school, and wore a pair of cheap trainers (sneakers) called Panams. Older kids would point at them and say: "Mind you don't crash!" There were other jokes... whoever said: "A joke is an epigraph on the death of a feeling," was right, at least when it comes to bad jokes.

Much later, while I was still in high school not far from Dunblane (stayed on at school till I was eighteen), Thomas Hamilton launched his massacre. I don't remember anyone saying, as was mentioned in the thread Byrne linked to, that the massacre had been reported hours before it happened - but I do remember another strange occurrence that has never, to my knowledge, been reported anywhere.

Soon after the attack ( but before the TV or radio had reported anything about it ) school headmasters in the area were understandably being informed by the police about what had happened - and I remember there was an announcement over the school tannoy system that a man had opened fire in the primary school at Dunblane... and that he had then left, and was still at large, and was believed to be heading towards a primary school in our area. There was a primary literally across the road from the secondary we were in. It seemed like both schools just closed down on the instant - the teachers simply told us to go home, and buses came for the younger kids (sidenote: in the UK it's possible for a twelve year old to be attending the same high school as an eighteen year old - it never occurred to me before just how dumb and conducive to bullying that is).

I suppose it was just a safety measure - maybe even the police didn't know yet that Hamilton had already shot himself in Dunblane Primary, and was no longer a threat to anyone else. But I definitely remember the announcement, and being told by a teacher (who looked terrified - perhaps he had kids at Dunblane himself) that the shooter was "headed our way." So we all just walked home, a bit non-plussed, until we found out more about what had happened.

There were no jokes about Dunblane. There still aren't.

Okay, enough personal stuff. Back to brass tacks.

I'm going to try and stay clear and factual on all this (it's against my nature, but I'll try) in order to avoid the kind of hyperbole that in my view has damaged the credibility of the "Magic Circle" allegations, in particular. David Icke may not be David Duke, but his article on "Paedophilia and Satanism" in the "Gordon Brown" thread should be used as a template of how not to write about these subjects. I give him due credit for doing the research, and for bringing these things to the attention of a far wider public than I ever could, but still... I don't like him, or his style, and I felt like (am I quoting Macruiskeen on another thread or subject here?) I had to wipe his saliva off my face after every paragraph. And who wrote the "Confessions of a Satanist" document anyway? ...But that's my personal feelings on Icke and his style, and this is not supposed to be about that.

To get to the bottom of all this, we need more detail I think, on each case in turn. I might repeat things that you have already said, Semper, but hopefully it will help answer some questions, particularly Mac's.

semper occultus wrote:I do believe there is sufficient material to make an interesting & important essay.

More like a book, man. :D And a long one too.

I want to go back and start with "Fettesgate" again, which I believe is how the press first got hold of the Orr Report, in which the "Magic Circle" allegations first came to public knowledge. Then I want to go through everything with a fine tooth comb. It'll probably be really boring.

As it began, there were elements of farce to the tale. One of Scotland's most important police stations was burgled; documents were stolen and leaked to the press; embarrassed police officers rushed around arresting not the burglars but the journalists who had written about the burglary. Black comedy, perhaps. But among the material leaked were some less amusing documents: there was, for instance, a chart compiled from the records of calls made from an Edinburgh telephone in a two week period in January 1990. Over 150 calls were logged and the names, addresses and telephone numbers of 78 people and organisations called during that time, as well as the time and duration of the calls, were recorded.

The telephone in question had not been tapped. Had it been, the police would first have had to justify the tapping to the Secretary of State for Scotland and obtained a warrant. The chart had been compiled from metering records. In Britain, to gain access to metering records, the police need do no more than establish a friendly relationship with British Telecom and pay a small fee. There is no warrant procedure, no public record and no safeguard against abuse or invasion of privacy that metering represents.

The British government insists that police use of metering records is a harmless tool in the fight against crime. No invasion of privacy is involved, the government argues, so no legal safeguard is necessary. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and British civil liberties groups, as well as some individuals who have discovered, by chance, that they have entered police files through metering, strongly disagree.

The 'Fettesgate scandal', as the incident was quickly baptised by the Scottish press, began in the early hours of 19 July 1992, when burglars spent three hours in the headquarters of the Lothian and Borders police in the Fettes area of Edinburgh. Several confidential documents were stolen and Animal Liberation Front slogans sprayed on the walls.

Later that day, Alan Muir, reporter with the Sun, received a telephone tip-off about the burglary and duly reported it in the next day's paper. The story cost Mr Muir six hours in police custody the next day but no charges were brought against him.

Six days after the burglary, Ron McKay, a journalist with Scotland on Sunday, found himself rummaging in a grit bin near his office, to which he had been directed by a telephone caller. Amongst the litter and debris in the bin he found a set of documents which he, too, used to write a story for the following day's paper. Two days later, Mr McKay was arrested in a dawn raid on his girlfriend's house in Chatham, Kent, held overnight, and charged with reset - the crime, under Scottish law, of receiving stolen property. The charges were dropped six months later.

There were many rumours about who might have carried out the burglary. The IRA, the Animal Liberation Front, unspecified drug dealers and even MI5 were mentioned. There was also a persistent set of rumours about a gay network of semi-criminal elements who were alleged to have good police and legal contacts. Nobody has yet been charged with the crime, though some journalists who have covered the story in Scotland have come to believe that the identity of the burglar, said to be a police informer, is known to the police, but that the police fear he might embarrass the force in court.
...

As a result of the Fettesgate burglary, one Edinburgh citizen found that his telephone number did figure on the police charts. It was George More, one of Edinburgh's leading criminal lawyers, whose office had been telephoned a number of times from the number under surveillance. Whilst he admitted that to be metered was less unpleasant than to be tapped, Mr More was nevertheless indignant. "It is an unpleasant intrusion into my private affairs. One has to assume that conversations with a client, which covers when I talk to a client, are confidential, as they are meant to be. If we are meant to have a confidential relationship, and if you agree with the idea that the client and his lawyer have rights, then we should not allow them to be whittled away."
http://www.unlockdemocracy.org.uk/chart ... ilton.html

There are a lot of rumours as to what the documents really contained - most commonly they were said to list prominent people (mainly criminal lawyers) who were known to use rent-boys - not necessarily underage ones, though the legal age of consent for gay men was 21 in those days. It's obvious why the police might want to have some dirt, or leverage, on criminal lawyers... it might help them swing an otherwise shaky conviction by dropping a few hints to the defendant's lawyer about what is known of him, or it might be to do with making sure convictions don't happen, maybe to help out big-time criminals with police contacts (by which I mean organzed gangland figures like Tam McGraw rather than elite paedophiles). Others say the documents were more akin to the P2 membership rolls - lists of police officers and judges, their lodges, and their Masonic rank, which is how that angle first came into the mix.

It seems to me the most likely explanation is that the stolen documents were (on edit: largely consisted of) the Orr Report itself - the burglary took place on 19 July 1992 at Lothian and Borders Police HQ, and several months later we have the opening paragraph of the Nimmo Smith report into the "Magic Circle" allegations saying:...

1. 1 On 11 September 1992 there were reports in the press and on television of
the contents of an internal report by a senior officer of Lothian and Borders Police
to the Chief Constable, a copy or copies of which had been leaked. We shall for
convenience refer to this document as "the Orr Report"...

As a sidenote that might not be a sidenote at all, the internal police investigation into the Fettesgate burglary was carried out by the Assistant Chief Constable at the time... a man called Graham Power.

This Graham Power: -
Jersey abuse review says Graham Power did correct job

A review done early in Jersey's historic child abuse inquiry suggests the island's police chief handled his role in the investigation correctly.

The 2008 report, the first of three reviews by the Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO), has recently been made public on an internet blog.

It suggested Graham Power should keep a "safety zone" between politicians and police work, which it said he did.

But Mr Power was later suspended over the way he handled the inquiry.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/jersey/8561940.stm

Please check the link, because sometimes a picture says a thousand words.

Mr Power joined Lothian and Borders in 1991 and, soon after, news of Fettesgate broke. It involved a break-in at the force headquarters in 1992 by a police informant involved in the Edinburgh gay scene. Dozens of secret files on undercover operations and criminals were taken.

Mr Power, then the new assistant chief constable, liaised with the Lord Advocate's [Nimmo Smith] inquiry into the affair and, later, implemented changes to integrate the CID with the rest of the force.

Mr Power said: "All of my command skills were learned during my service in Scotland and it was a very useful and valuable grounding for what I'm doing now.

"With the Fettesgate case, I had to make some very hard decisions. The experience of a case like that has helped me greatly with the current scenario in Jersey."

http://news.scotsman.com/latestnews/Jer ... 3839250.jp

The title bit of the link above is quite funny, looking at it now. "/latestnews/Jersey-police-chief-expects-abuse."

Yeah, well, he deserves some. I mean verbal abuse, of course.

Graham Power's suspension after he did such a good job (?!) was a little bit odd in itself:

The hand-written notes taken during the meeting to suspend Police Chief Graham Power were shredded or burned, it was claimed during a secret States debate yesterday.

The papers’ existence was at the heart of yesterday’s in camera debate over the procedures used to suspend Mr Power, who has been in charge of the States police for eight years. States Members voted by 29 to 21 not to adopt a proposition to force a full independent inquiry into the handling of the matter, but Home Affairs Minister Ian Le Marquand – a former Magistrate and lawyer – said that he would conduct his own review, having taken over the responsibility for the police since the suspension was made....

Although Mr Power (pictured) has kept a low profile since being suspended two months ago, a set of ‘briefing notes’ that he sent out to States Members ahead of a previous debate were leaked to the JEP. In the notes he claimed he had been suspended unfairly and against the set rules, and that his suspension was politically motivated and were an attempt to ‘publicly humiliate and demoralise’ him.
http://www.thisisjersey.com/2009/01/22/ ... destroyed/

I believe that was payback for Power's failure to keep his deputy Lenny Harper on a tighter leash. Harper didn't keep his mouth shut while the Jersey scandal was being swept under the carpet, as the island's tradition demands, and they both payed with their jobs and reputations. Presuming they weren't willing fall-guys, of course (Harper willingly retired).

Sidenote over. Back to the matter at hand - the Fettesgate burglary, which lead to the secret internal Orr Report being leaked to the press, and then on to the Nimmo Smith Report into the allegations that were found in Orr.

Here is a .pdf of the complete Nimmo Smith Report from Martin Frost's site: http://www.martinfrost.ws/htmlfiles/sep ... report.pdf

Here's the allegations as layed out in the report.

The inference [found in the Orr Report] is one of the existence of
a well established circle of homosexual persons in Edinburgh with influence
in the judiciary who may or may not have exercised that influence but who
have formed associations which in themselves lay them open to threats or
blackmail . It may well be the case that homosexuality per se is no longer
considered detrimental to the standing of a person holding public office.
However, the circumstances set out in this report indicate that homosexuality
may well have been used as a means to seriously interefere (sic) with the
administration of justice. "

1. 2 Whatever may have been the intention of the author of the report , this last
paragraph has been widely understood to contain an allegation that there has been
a conspiracy to pervert the course of justice which has resulted in decisions having
been taken by the Crown in the particular cases mentioned in the Orr Report for
the improper motive of preventing the public exposure of prominent members
of the Scottish legal establishment as being practising homosexuals or as having
engaged in homosexual activities.

So it seems like the Orr Report was specifically about adult homosexual rings within the judiciary, rather than paedophilia (so far), and there is no mention of Freemasonry (so far). Again, I stress, this is only according to Nimmo Smith's report, which as Semper has already said is widely believed to be a whitewash.

The Report goes on (and on, and on)...

It's all about adult homosexual stuff. I'll try to make this is as brief as possible (and I'm definitely not trying to debunk anything here) but since it's proven that the extreme right has an interest in spinning these cases, I just want to be a bit more careful and thorough establishing each point in turn than usual.

Here's where the report gets a bit more shady, if only because of the difference in the age of consent between gay and straight back then.

8.1 The information contained in this part of our Report is derived solely from
stories in the "Evening News " and from interviews with Ian Burrell , formerly
Crime Reporter and now Assistant News Editor , and David Forsyth, Reporter
on the staff of that newspaper. According to Burrell , when the police investigation
known as "Operation Planet" started in January 1990 he learned about it from
police sources. He began to look into background information which could be
published after the trial . As the investigation progressed "more and more people
were in the frame" and the size of the story was such that Forsyth was brought
in to help him. By way of background research... contact was
made with a male prostitute or rent boy who... arranged
for them to meet [with another Edinburgh rent-boy]. This person's real name is not "Jason",
which is a pseudonym, but we have no other means of identifying him.

...
"Jason" was described as being 18 years old, brought up in Manchester, "blond-
haired", and an habitual rent boy or male prostitute. [i]He claimed that one of his
first "punters" in Edinburgh picked him up in a car near Regent Road and drove
him to Waverley Station where he bought condoms and then drove him out of
the city centre to a big house, near which he made "Jason" duck down out of sight
in the front seat of the car. "Jason" was taken into the house where he was left
to wait in a room lined with books, in which he saw a photograph of the "punter"
on the wall showing him wearing "some sort of long robes". Thereafter he was
taken into a bedroom where the "punter" sodomised him.

...
According to Burrell "Jason" was able to describe the "punter"
as being maybe 5'9" tall , thin, perhaps in his 50s, and balding. He showed "Jason"
some photographs, but Jason was unable to come up with any plausible ident-
ification. Neither Burrell nor Forsyth was prepared to say to us that they under-
stood "Jason" to be describing a person who was a Judge.

I'm wondering if, in those heated times when people were first reading this report (journalists and such, I mean) the idea of a man who could not be identified as a judge, but who had a picture of himself wearing long robes, instantly hinted at a Masonic connection. Once again, not trying to debunk here - that vid of Gordon Brown's very specific handshake freaked me out as much as it did Mac. But I want to be sure, absolutely sure, of where the connections lie between the "Magic Circle" allegations, the paedophile cases (including older ones, like that of the ring who persecuted Eric Cullen throughout his short and miserable life), and Dunblane, George Robertson and the rest.

I'll have to leave it for now, though. Hope some of this info is new and helpful.

Postby semper occultus » Tue Mar 23, 2010 6:58 pm

Ahab – welcome aboard the thread mate – very interested in your personal brush with these events
I'm going to try and stay clear and factual on all this

not implying anything I hope ;-)

It'll probably be really boring.

well – may as well keep things consistent.

For reasons that will become apparent your post concerning the “Judge” is MOST relevant for my purposes.

5. Evidentiary underpinnings

I began this thread from a purely intuitive & subjective sense that something important & wrong is & has happened in Scotland .
I further feel that acknowledging & trying to understand these subterranean currents is key to gaining a true understanding of much about the state of Britain after 13 years of New Labour rule .

So is there any evidence that can support the idea of a particular paedophilic “nexus” in Scotland that can in some way be connected to influential elements ?

Following a lengthy build-up preamble I consider this my most important post so far as I seek to erect some evidentiary scaffolding around the admittedly unstable edifice that I’ve so far assembled .

Consider the following :

Law makes Scotland attractive to Net paedophiles, says expert
By Wendy McAuliffe, 24 October 2001 10:08

A leading criminal psychologist has warned that Internet paedophiles may move to Scotland to take advantage of weaker sentencing guidelines on the downloading of child pornography. The sex crime expert Ray Wyre has condemned the lack of consistency between English and Scottish child pornography law as "crazy".
He is adamant that the more lenient penalties for downloading or distributing indecent images of children over the Internet in Scotland will push offenders north of the border. "If (the paedophile) wanted to carry on accessing this material, it would seem wise for them to move across the border," said Ray Wyre. "Especially when England is moving towards sentences of ten years."
Scotland's Appeal Court ruled on Thursday that Internet paedophiles should not face more than a one-year prison sentence for downloading child pornography. The decision followed the appeal of the international weightlifter Alan Ogilvie, whose sentence was reduced from two years to six months for downloading 22,000 obscene images of young boys from the Internet. The three appeal court judges rejected the view that child pornography is a "victimless crime", but advised that the downloading of indecent photos for "personal gratification" should not necessitate a jail sentence of more than nine to 12 months -- except in "the most exceptional circumstances". The controversial ruling creates massive inconsistencies between English and Scottish sentencing guidelines for child pornography offences. In England, the Criminal Justice and Court Services Act was updated on 11 January to increase the maximum sentence for downloading child pornography to five years, and the maximum sentence for distributing obscene images to ten years. "There is no doubt that sentencing does have an effect -- I wasn't calling for longer prison sentences, but consistent sentencing across the UK," said Wyre. "For some people downloading child pornography, giving them a three or four month sentence seems crazy." Wyre is in favour of harsher penalties for Internet paedophiles across the whole of the UK, and is concerned that Scottish legislators are ignoring important questions about child pornography. "If people know that they are likely to be found out, and there is the possibility of a ten year sentence in England, this may make people think twice."

25,000; PAEDOPHILES IN SCOTLAND; Top cop reveals shocking figures.
Byline: NORMAN SILVESTER; EXCLUSIVE

MORE than 25,000 paedophiles are living in Scotland, according to
Bob McLachlan, who ran the Metropolitan Police Paedophile Unit, studied convicted and suspected child- abusers and identified 250,000 throughout Britain.

And he claims hundreds of English paedophiles are moving to Scotland because they fear vigilante attacks.

Mr McLachlan yesterday called on Scots police forces to set up dedicated anti- paedophile squads similar to those that already exist for drugs and fraud.

He says forces across the country are not doing enough to tackle the menace.

He said: "I don't think our estimate is alarmist.

The figures of 250,000 paedophiles in Britain and 25,000 in Scotland is conservative and could be many thousands more than that.

"The number of paedophiles and child abusers who actually appear in our courts is only a tiny percentage who are in the community. For every one caught and convicted there is at least one other that we don't know about." Government statistics show 110,000 people living in Scotland, England and Wales England and Wales are both constituent countries of the United Kingdom, that together share a single legal system: English law. Legislatively, England and Wales are treated as a single unit (see State (law)) for the conflict of laws. have convictions for sex attacks on children.

Mr McLachlan says the figure does not include people who were cleared by the courts or quizzed about sex attacks on children but released because of a lack of evidence.

He came up with the 250,000 figure using the latest police intelligence on crime patterns and specialist research material and warned that 64 per cent of paedophiles re-offend four or more years after their first conviction.

Mr McLachlan, who is retired, runs a child protection consultancy advising the police and social services on how to identify and deal with paedophiles.

For four years he headed the Paedophile Unit of the Serious Crime Group of the Metropolitan Police until he retired in June.

He featured in the harrowing BBC series, Hunting for Britain's Paedophiles, which showed the work of the unit as they tracked down some of the country's most depraved sex offenders.

In Scotland, 1800 paedophiles and other perverts have been placed on the sex offenders' list since it was first established five years ago. The numbers going on to the list are rising at the rate of 300 a year, but do not include people convicted before September 1997.

Police are investigating 742 Scots paedophiles who were caught by the FBI logging on to child pornography Child pornography is the visual representation of minors under the age of 18 engaged in sexual activity or the visual representation of minors engaging in lewd or erotic behavior designed to arouse the viewer's sexual interest. internet sites in the US.

Six have already been arrested, including four serving police officers. Officials at the National Criminal Intelligence Service, which keeps a list of around 300 British high- risk paedophiles, said they are aware of offenders heading for more remote areas of Scotland, particularly the Highlands, where they believe they can live in anonymity.

[b[Four years ago, child sex killer Robert Oliver tried to seek refuge north of the border after vigilante mobs hounded him out of five cities in England and Ireland.[/b] Oliver was one of the paedophile gang jailed for the gang rape and manslaughter of teenage rent boy Jason Swift.

His planned move to Scotland was blocked by the Scottish Office.

Two years ago, the Sunday Mail revealed how notorious paedophile James Clark, 58, had moved into the Portobello area of Edinburgh after being released from jail in England.

Police believe Clark, who has convictions dating back 27 years for offences against children, will eventually kill one of his victims.

His last conviction was for the attempted abduction of a nine-year-old girl after stalking her on the beach in Bournemouth in 1997.

He was released from The Verne prison in Dorset in October 2000 and immediately moved to Scotland. Police have no idea where he is.

Another high profile case involved David Steinheimer, who was jailed for seven years after he flew 4500 miles from Scotland to America for a sordid liaison with a schoolboy he groomed over the net - only to find he was the victim of an FBI sting.

The 38-year-old was arrested by agents in Houston, Texas. They had posed as the youngster in a bid to nail online paedophiles.

American citizen Steinheimer, from Illinois, had been studying history at Aberdeen University.

And its not only them coming-in but going-out that seems to be a problem as well

Scotland lacks control over paedophile travel
Stuart MacDonald

From The Sunday Times February 14, 2010

Police and courts in Scotland have failed to impose a single order banning paedophiles from travelling abroad, new figures have revealed.

Foreign Travel Orders (FTOs) were introduced in an effort to protect foreign youngsters from predatory sex offenders, particularly in countries plagued by child sex tourism, such as Thailand, Cambodia and India.

However, the power has yet to be used in Scotland despite the fact that 13 such orders have been imposed by the authorities in England and Wales since 2007.

The disclosure has provoked concern that paedophiles are not being properly monitored, allowing them to prey on vulnerable children abroad. At least 17 sex offenders are currently classed as missing and thought to be overseas.

The failure to impose FTOs is revealed in a study by Beth Weaver, a social work lecturer at Strathclyde university, who analysed the implementation of Multi-Agency Public Protection Arrangements (MAPPA) for monitoring high-risk offenders.

FTOs, one of the measures made available under the MAPPA scheme, can be imposed by judges or sheriffs at the point of sentencing or applied for subsequently by police forces.

The figures also show that limited use has been made in Scotland of Sexual Offences Prevention Orders (SOPOs), which prevent paedophiles from visiting designated areas such as schools and playparks. Only 45 have been issued in the past year. The number of offenders returned to prison for breaching SOPOs almost doubled last year and the number who received convictions for further serious violent or sexual crimes rose from 8 to 44.

Richard Baker MSP, Labour’s justice spokesman, urged Kenny MacAskill, the justice minister, to launch a national review into the current monitoring system and said consideration should be given to banning all sex offenders from travelling abroad. A Scottish government spokesman said: “The infrequent use of FTOs is not unique to Scotland. Ministry of Justice statistics indicate only 12 such orders had been obtained in the rest of the UK in 2008-09. Clearly it is important to raise awareness amongst police forces of the benefits of these orders and to encourage consideration of their use.”

Police 'ignore' rights of sex trafficking victims
Human rights watchdog suspects sexual exploitation of overseas women being wrongly treated as immigration issue

Severin Carrell, Scotland correspondent
The Guardian, Tuesday 9 February 2010

The police and immigration services may be illegally ignoring the human rights of foreign women who have been forced into prostitution, the Equalities and Human Rights Commission has alleged.

The commission suspects the sexual exploitation of women from overseas is being treated routinely as an immigration issue, with the women often regarded as criminals rather than as victims of coercion, violence and trafficking.

The investigation………..will focus primarily on Scotland after evidence emerged that Scotland may have a disproportionate number of human trafficking cases but has seen no prosecutions for trafficking.

Major police probe as immigrant Roma children exploited

A child prostitution ring which is sexually exploiting immigrant Roma children as young as nine is operating in Glasgow, the Sunday Herald can reveal. Police have been running undercover surveillance operations in empty homes and unmarked cars in the Govanhill area in the southside of Glasgow for months in the hope of catching those behind the ring and the men paying to have sex with children.

Our investigation has also uncovered:
That high-grade intelligence about the ring led to the mounting of the covert operations;
An eyewitness who saw at first hand the sexual abuse of Roma children on the streets of Govanhill;
The name of the key suspect thought to be the leader of the child prostitution ring - a Roma man from eastern Slovakia now living in Govanhill.

Last night, Superintendent Mike Dean, who is leading the inquiry from Gorbals police station, confirmed that undercover detectives were hunting those behind the child prostitution ring and called on the public to help the investigation.

Jim Miller, from Govanhill, told the Sunday Herald how he stumbled upon a child being forced into prostitution on Allison Street, one of Govanhill's main thoroughfares. Miller has already given a statement to the police.

"Roughly two months ago," said Miller, "I was out walking my dog at about 10.15 in the morning. The dog ran into a close which was filled with rubbish, bin bags and old bedding.

"It was dark, and as I walked through the close I saw a man with his trousers around his ankles having full sex with a young Roma girl who was about nine or ten. The man had made the girl stand on a car battery in order to have sex with her.

"The guy just looked at me," said Miller. "I was flabbergasted. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The wee lassie looked totally bewildered."

Miller says he hurriedly left the close in order to get the police and spotted a Roma man waiting outside. At the same time the man he had seen having sex walked out of the close, as did the young girl. The Roma man, waiting outside, took the little girl by the hand and got into a nearby car, with a third man at the steering wheel, and drove away. Miller said he noticed that the girl walked with a limp.

The Sunday Herald knows the identity of the Roma man believed to have been pimping the child. Police sources confirmed that he was known to the police and a possible suspect in the child prostitution ring.

Miller quickly located two police officers, informed them of the events and passed on the car registration number. Miller says that when he returned to the scene there was a used condom and tissues at the site. "I was almost hysterical by this point," said Miller. "I'd just seen a child being raped in broad daylight."

Police say they have received various reports of child prostitution in the Govanhill area. The ages of the children allegedly involved ranged from nine to 14.

These add up to something very important.

To consider Ahab’s Fettesgate postings :-

embarrassed police officers rushed around arresting not the burglars but the journalists who had written about the burglary . Black comedy, perhaps.

or maybe a very unfunny indicator of a culture & system designed to maintain cover-ups , intimidate & exert control over independent channels of information & to exercise state-sponsored suppression of dissent .

So it seems like the Orr Report was specifically about adult homosexual rings within the judiciary, rather than paedophilia (so far), and there is no mention of Freemasonry (so far).

What’s worrying is that from the days of PIE up to “James Rennie, 38, then the chief executive of the gay and lesbian helpline LBGT Youth Scotland” the two are horribly inter-twined - mainstream Gay Rights “Dr Jekyll” seems to have somehow spawned a twisted Mr Hyde freak that stalks in its shadow ( these Scottish analogies just keep on coming !)

I believe the heart of the “Nexus” is politico-legal.

I would argue there is a strong basis for hypothesising the existence – at the fundamental politico-legal level – of influences that are in every way conducive to the continued existence & flourishing of the “Nexus” that I have speculated about.

To get a bit more RI about it - is the “Monster” from the black-deep emitting some Cthulu –like call to the devotees of its foul cult – calling them to it ? *

* My continued cack-handed use of this analogy is meant as a bow of respect to Danny Casolaro who died in the name of telling the truth about bad people & as a respectful tip of the hat to Jeff’s late lamented & unique blogging style & should in no way be construed as trying to make light of the subject matter.

Re: “Loch Ness Monster” – the Scottish paedophile nexus

Postby MacCruiskeen » Tue Mar 23, 2010 7:41 pm

Yes, Ahab, thanks for all that. I've been out of Scotland for most of my adult life and knew very little about the things you describe.

while I was still in high school not far from Dunblane (stayed on at school till I was eighteen), Thomas Hamilton launched his massacre.

This is very strange, because much the same thing happened here in Germany during/after the Winnenden school massacre (March 11th 2009): the pupils of another school, a mile or more away, were prevented from leaving for over an hour because the alleged lone killer was allegedly on his way over there to start a second massacre.

There are many anomalies in the case. A German journalist & historian called Andreas Hauss has written about it in great detail, and even taken legal action against the public prosecutors. What he says is hard to summarise and too lengthy to translate, but essentially he concludes that a) there was more than one killer involved, b) the alleged killer (the 17-year-old schoolboy Tim Kretschmar) was probably not the real killer, and c) there has been a massive cover-up.

Fwiw.

PUBLIC FIGURES NAMED IN PAEDOPHILE RING

http://conformandobey.co.uk/pages/nick-davies-97.html

By Nick Davies, The Guardian (UK)

Policemen, social workers and prominent public figures have been accused of belonging to a paedophile ring which indulged in a relentless campaign of physical and sexual abuse in children's homes in North Wales.

The names of the alleged members of the ring have been given by witnesses in public sessions of the North Wales Child Abuse Tribunal, but they have been suppressed by the tribunal's chairman, Sir Ronald Waterhouse QC, who has threatened the media with High Court proceedings if they print them.

The Guardian today publishes for the first time detailed evidence about the alleged ring, which is said to have been based in Wrexham, and to have infiltrated local children's homes over a 20 year period.

Witnesses claim that members of the ring used their connections with police and social services to conceal their activities. All of the accused have denied the allegations.

Those named to the tribunal include:

A man who bears the same surname as a prominent Conservative supporter. Two witnesses have told the tribunal of a rich and powerful man who belonged to the alleged ring.

The son of an influential peer who admitted to police that he had been having sex with an under-age boy from one of the homes. Despite his admission, he was never prosecuted.

A powerful public official who has previously been cleared of abuse. Six witnesses have given separate accounts to the tribunal of his alleged rape of young boys. Another has reported him attending parties in Wrexham which were supplied with boys from a children's home.

Two social workers and two police officers, one of whom was accused of abuse on four separate occasions and exonerated each time, another of whom has since been jailed in another part of the country for gross indecency with a child.

More than a dozen other local men, including an executive with a local authority, a senior probation officer and a director of a major company.

The following comments come from the following site

http://nameshamesocialworkers.blogspot.com/

PAEDOPHILE POLICE ESCAPE PROSECUTION
High Level Masons such as Chief Superintendent Gordon Angelsea and at least 12 of his colleagues were "let off the hook" for sexual abuse crimes on children (some of who are now dead) in the North Wales Paedophile Ring Cover-Up.

PAEDOPHILE POLITICIANS ESCAPE PROSECUTION
High Level Government Masons such as Lord McAlpine, ex aid to Margaret Thatcher, was accused by numerous children of sexual crimes in the North Wales Child Abuse Cover-Ups. He escaped public exposure by a specifically appointed Masonic Paedophile Judge.

The following are people known to abuse children regularly, and some of the names will shock you, but i can assure you i would not name them if i were not sure of the information.

Lord Graville Jenner(Labour Peer)
Jenner was accused of raping a 15 year old boy at the holiday in in Glasgow, the night before the boy was due to give evidence, the judge was taken out to dinner by the defense team for Jenner, and it was arranged that the boy was not allowed to Jenner in court as his rapist, or he would be in contempt of court. Jenner won his case and he walked in to the house of commons to a standing ovation by MP's. I stand by what i have said for many years, the house of commons and Lords are filled with perverts and rapists, and the police and the courts will defend them all the way, as they are all in the same private club.

Lord Kaufman(Labour Peer)

He is well known to police in London for sexually abusing young boys, he likes them under 12 when he can get them.

Lord Britton(Leon, former home sec when Maggie was in power)

He is very well known for raping young boys. The police raided his house when a young boy staggered in to the street half naked, and when police asked what happened he told them about Britton and his friends and took them to the house. When they called in to report what happened , they were ordered to take everyone in, and when they got there there were 2 officers from the security service waiting. The boys were paid off, and a short time later, Leon Britton was summoned to meet his fellow MP, William Hague on the beach in Brighton at 5.45 in the morning, where he was told that he was to be made commissioner for the UK, and he would not be allowed to be in politics again in the UK. That was how he became commissioner and he stayed there for many years, until the corruption inquiry went ahead, which saw a large number of people from different countries being made to resign.

GORDON BROWN(PRIME MINISTER of the UK)
Brown is known for sexually abusing numerous boys, as well as girls. He is known for a particularly vile rape in Aberdeen in the 70's, when he and 2 others paid a prostitute for access to her 9 year old daughter. They all raped her several times, and some years later the girl went to court to get custody of her little brother because of her mother's abuse, and drug use. She won the case and has had custody of him ever since. The records have vanished from court, but the victim still remembers what happened, and who did it.

Anthony Charles Lynton Blair(Tony Blair, former PM of the UK)

He was charged and appeared in court at Bow Street magistrates court for importunity in a public toilet with another male. He tried to get sexual favour from the other man, little did he know that the toilet was being watched by police. Blair was fined £500, and walked away with nobody knowing who he really was as he used his middle names to cover who he was. Charles Lynton is the name used, and his friends in court got him off with a fine, because he is one of them.

Edward Heath(former PM of the UK)

He is very well known for his perverted abuse of young boys. I spoke to one of his victims and he told me about others who were present, and more important, who was supplying the children to him. The person bringing children for him to abuse is Sir Jimmy Saville. He was seen by the witness, victim, taking young boys onboard Heaths yacht the morning cloud when they were at party conference. Saville is known for supplying a number of high profile MP's with children for them to sexually abuse.

This is the first part, i will reveal more tonight and tomorrow.

This is the next part of MP's who abuse children.

Lord Robertson(Former head of NATO)

He is very well known to police in the UK. He was removed by the US government because they found out about his perverted taste for boys. They were going to expose him if he did not resign, so we got the"I'm resigning for family reasons bull shit)Robertson is a dangerous predatory paedophile, but as bad as the one i am about to name next.

Lord Hardie,
The former Lord Advocate for Scotland, is a known paedophile, who some years ago had his BMW stolen by 2 victims, when they were caught, Hardie told the police to let them go, and he did not bring charges against them. Why would a judge not charge them with theft, unless they had information which would destroy him.

Lord McAlpine,
Former treasurer of the conservative party.
He is known to the police in the UK and abroad, for sexually abusing young boys, including using a coffin to put the boy in, then they simulate burying him by sprinkling gravel on the top of the coffin, the child is screaming with terror and will do whatever he is told due to being so scared of being put in the coffin again. This person is alleged to have murdered at least 2 boys and buried their bodies on his estate. I got this information from a police officer who was involved in investigating McAlpine, and he is certain that he has committed murder several times, but he is to well protected to get him.

Micheal Portilo(former MP Kensington & Chelsea.

Portilo is well known within the conservative party, as are others for his perverse abuse of children. He also likes adults now and again, particularly his friend and fellow MP Peter Lilley. He was giving portilo a good time in the DTI building on the day of the 92 election, he was on his knees, (I'm sure i don't have to paint a picture for you.
He also like Morocco Del sol, where he delights in having young boys for sexual abuse. He used to go to the same hotel and on one visit, he left top secret documents behind in connection with the UK's defense systems, was it an accident, or was he being blackmailed? He also goes to the Isle of White regularly with Lilley and other friends where they have access to children. He is disgusting and i want him in prison where he belongs.

2 comments off the top of my head - its "Grenville Janner" & "defense" spelt US style - although it doesn't seem too literate generally !

Hehe, nope, not at all. In fact, I applaud you for starting this thread, and for bringing to light so many cases, and links between cases. Including many (very many!) that I myself was shamefully unaware of. It's just I have trouble keeping my own head straight on all this, as anyone would. There is so much material, going back so far, that each case and each inquiry could fill a thread on it's own.

Btw, glad you brought up the murder of Moira Anderson. I can recommend the book "Where There Is Evil" by Sandra Brown - she makes a good case for the likelihood of her own father (Sandra Brown's father, not Moira Anderson's) being the killer.

In the book there is quite a lot of time spent on the fact that her dad, Alex Gartshore, as well as being a member of a Coatbridege-based paedophile ring, was also a Worshipful Master in the Masonic Lodge (Orange Order). He recieved a number of suspiciously lenient sentences for other sexual crimes, mainly molestation, both before and after Moira's disappearance.

It claims her body was dumped in the Tarry Burn in Coatbridge, an area that has never been thoroughly searched. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/u ... 708514.ece

For what it's worth, the Tarry Burn is also known as the Witch's Pond, or the Witchwood Pond.

The name Witchwood first appeared in 1860 with the loss of the Carling Croft to the newly established iron works. Since Carlin is the old Scots word for Witch, it is thought that this name was continued in an anglicised version as Witchwood.
http://www.northlanarkshire.gov.uk/CHtt ... d=2812&p=0

Sandra Brown describes it as a very spooky place - although considering the fact that her father confessed to dumping a child's body there, it's not surprising.

Got to get to bed now, but I hope I can explain better tomorrow why I am (as it may appear) wasting my time going back through an old report that none of us believe in, and quoting huge chunks of it in your thread. :D There is a reason for it. Maybe it would be better done in a separate thread, though, because I don't want it to get in the way of the case you are building here, which is deeply disturbing.
