Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

I can't help but adore the Anonymous.

Also, what's a smart fridge?

Smart home gadgets—not computers—likely did the bulk of the nefarious work today.

Wow I literally just had a conversation about how to employ smart appliances to do this on like Wednesday. I hope I didn't give anyone any bright ideas.

That's really interesting. I think it shows how vulnerable systems are and how anyone has the potential to putll off stunts like this (at least anyone in the world of coders, who number 14 million).

The timing, on the other hand - well still doesn't say anything. A shot across the bow, or a wank-fest for some coder who figured this out?

Anyway, The Great Netflix and Twitter Temporary Outage of 10/21/16. Never forget!

I like how they use this map with enormous blood-red spots on the U.S. It's just like nuclear war, see?

Like I was saying to 8bit and my GF. How are FB and Google impervious to these attacks? Something does not add up. If they went down, I would have to agree, it would be semi pandemonium. Actually major. Maybe not FB so much but Google for sure. Not sure of the ratios of importance since I am 41. It would be interesting to see the effect Google going down would have on global society. I wouldn't want to see it, but there is something that definitely protects "them" and by way of which, us.

I'm sure but that makes them a prize target in terms of hacker prestige. The increasing mentality of war is a driver too. I'm guessing some chunk of $$$ is going into constant vigilance and red-teaming (which can backfire). Risk is unpredictable business. It is presumably impossible to foresee every vulnerability. It is also not guaranteed that all vulnerabilities will be seen by either, defenders or attackers. No telling what legacy weaknesses are built-in to the layers and layers of coding. Much depends on psychology baked into code.

A real prize would be hacking a distant spacecraft/probe. I wouldn't want to see it. But that person would be a champion. Then again sending commands millions if not billions of miles would require a dish or dishes worldwide in order to hack them. I dunno. Just thinking.

In the past few months I have been idly wondering how the fuck would the USS Enterprise (Star Trek) get their mandatory software updates as they came along? A very dumb question, but interesting.

They fucked it in the new movies anyway. Now you can even beam people into a ship light years away traveling at warp speed.

Sorry about the Chekov kid, I found him appealing as an actor.
