By supplementing the amount of blood pumped through the body, Mr. Cheney’s pump allows him to do many things he would do with a working heart. Such patients can bicycle, golf, play tennis, drive, shop and generally do what they did before they developed severe heart failure. They need to take an anticoagulant, like warfarin (sold under the brand name Coumadin), and have blood tests to monitor the amount.

Mr. Cheney’s pump was placed near his heart. With most patients, a power line emerges about waist level and connects to a controller, a minicomputer that plugs into a pair of one-and-a-half-pound, 12-volt batteries. Patients wear a black mesh vest over their clothing that holds the controller and batteries.

Where's a good EMF weapon when you need one?

A simple, home made, HERF gun would probably do the trick.

With him goes the knowledge of his treasonous crimes and crimes against humanity. I imagine his last breath is one of relief.

Dick Cheney & his heart pump - The dead walk the earth

If the earth is a place where the dead come to be made alive again, then Dick Cheney has valiantly resisted all treatment.

Dick Cheney: Reinstate the torture program

Former Vice President Dick Cheney said Sunday that President Barack Obama should put waterboarding back on the table.

Intelligence derived from the Bush-era enhanced interrogation program "probably" contributed to the death of Osama bin Laden, Cheney told Fox News' Chris Wallace.

"Which raises the question, if we were to now capture another new high value target, which is certainly more likely given this apparent trove of information that they recovered in bin Laden's compound, should the president reinstate enhanced interrogation including waterboarding?" Wallace asked.

"Well, I certainly would advocate it," Cheney replied. "I'd be a strong supporter of it."

"We went to a lot of trouble to find out what we could do, how far we could go, what was legal and so forth. Out of that emerged what we called enhanced interrogation. It worked. It provided some absolutely vital pieces of intelligence."

"It was a good program," he continued. "It was a legal program. It was not torture. I would strongly recommend we continue it."

CIA Director Leon Panetta has said waterboarding is torture but the former Vice President disagreed.

"Waterboarding and all of the other techniques that were used are techniques that we use training our own people. This is stuff that we've done for years with own military personnel. To suggest that it's torture, I just think is wrong."

The former vice president called the Obama's administration's investigation of CIA interrogators that may have abused detainees an "outrage."

"These men, all devoted, capable officials shouldn't have to look over their shoulder and worry if they follow the orders of this president to carry out this interrogation program at some point down the road when there is a change in policy, they can expect to be prosecuted," he said.

I find it very, very harmful to my belief in the inherent goodness of the universe that this.... this THING is still not only alive in some technical sense, but so hale & hearty as to be able to give interviews vigorously supporting officially sanctioned torture.

Dick Cheney receives heart transplant

Former Vice President Dick Cheney received a heart transplant on Saturday, his office announced.

A statement from the former vice president's office said the 71 year old is now recovering in the intensive care unit of Inova Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, Va., outside Washington.

The statement said Cheney had been on the transplant list for 20 months and did not know the identity of the donor.

"Although the former vice president and his family do not know the identity of the donor, they will be forever grateful for this lifesaving gift," the statement read.

That picture of Cheney with the Queen is hilarious. She has a glare that makes even Cheney look uncomfortable.

I was thinking about the same thing.
