Just absolutely equal parts arrogance and stupidity.

Iraq asks U.S. congressman to leave after he says they should ‘repay’ for war

BAGHDAD (AFP) – Iraqi authorities have asked for a US congressman to leave the country after he called for Baghdad to repay part of the money spent by Washington since the 2003 invasion, a spokesman said on Saturday.

Republican representative Dana Rohrabacher's remarks at a news conference in Baghdad stood in stark contrast to those by senior American officials, who have pressed Iraqi officials to decide soon whether they want US troops to stay beyond a year-end withdrawal deadline.

"We called the US embassy yesterday and we told them to ask the congressmen to leave Iraq," government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh told AFP. "We don't want them here. What they said was inappropriate."

Dabbagh said Rohrabacher and his congressional delegation had not raised the issue in a meeting with Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki, contradicting the US politician's comments that he had spoken about potential repayments with the Iraqi leader.

It was not immediately clear if Rohrabacher and the delegation were still in the country when the request was made.

"Once Iraq becomes a very rich and prosperous country... we would hope that some consideration be given to repaying the United States some of the mega-dollars that we have spent here in the last eight years," Rohrabacher told journalists at the US embassy on Monday.

Rohrabacher, a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee in the US House of Representatives, declined to give specifics on how much should be repaid, or over how long.

US embassy spokesman David Ranz said that while the mission "has a responsibility to host congressional visitors," the views of the politicians "do not necessarily express the views of the US administration or even a majority of the Congress."

He declined to comment on Dabbagh's remarks.

Around 45,000 American troops are still in Iraq, mostly tasked with training and equipping their Iraqi counterparts.

All US troops must withdraw from the country by the end of the year, under the terms of a security pact, but US officials have been pressing Baghdad to decide quickly whether or not it wants an extension.

Dabbagh said Iraqi President Jalal Talabani would lead a meeting of the country's political leaders "very soon" to deal with "issues related to the American withdrawal from Iraq."

Rohrabacher was leading a bipartisan US congressional delegation on a visit to Iraq, primarily to look into a raid by Iraqi security forces in April on the Ashraf camp housing thousands of exiled Iranians in which at least 35 camp residents died.

LOL. You couldn't make this shit up. Unless you were the ghost of Joseph Heller chanelling Kurt Vonnegut and smoking spectral leaf.

That is such a contemptible thing to say.

What's next, a rapist asking that his victim pay for his medical bills? For the wounds received when the victim fought back? And maybe a Mega-Fee for "pleasure delivered".

What a dick.

Rohrbacher should resign in shame over this bullshit. This should be more embarrassing than sending penis pix to women.

I can't wait to see the mega-bill Iraq's sure to send us for the clean-up costs of the environmental disaster all our mega-dollars of spending over the last 8 years has caused their country. Once they're rich and prosperous, of course.

I think there is a real difference between real 'libs' and 'media libs'.

I'm mostly referring to the folks who get their talking points from Comedy Central, loudly complained about ABC's Path To 9/11, and blindly worship Obama

I'm curious what an interminable, genocidal cocksucker such as this thinks the true worth of a city like Fallujah was to the people who called it home. Clearly worthless you fucking disgusting asshat. How the fuck is it that these fucking people and those who support them can simply not think their way out of an ethical wet paper bag? God, how the fuck is it that we are even in this mess? I will never, ever understand.

My boss is "hella liberal" -- he is liberal (which is very nice to have in a boss!) and super honest. He got into an argument with one of our very well off bar regulars who happens to be kneejerk republican. Nice guy and easy enough to be around. But my boss schooled him with the simple Socratic method the other day and the dude was on the verge of losing it. My boss was like "look at you! You're about to throw down because you know you have no answer for everything I've just asked you." Everyone shook hands in the end. I stayed out of it, since I am the new guy. I just laughed. But they're out there. People you wouldn't even think could be so dense -- are that dense.

In the mediatainment minds of Americans, Fallujah was this "great, but tragic battle for Americans"...noone realizes Fallujah is where the US military murdered several thousand civilians(including many children)
in 2003 and 2004. There's a few documentaries that goes into the true shocking nature of that campaign.

See the disconnect...Wikileaks and Manning release footage of US military gloating as they murder a van full of kids, reporters on the street and people coming to help...yet Manning and Wikileaks are the bad guys. Heck Ive even seen many so called liberals say Manning is a traitor online.
