Rick Perry: Scariest Main GOP Contender I've Seen

Postby 8bitagent » Sun Aug 14, 2011 5:06 pm

People though Bush was creepy? This guy takes that and multiplies that creep factor by a thousand.

I can't ever recall a GOP frontrunner for president more frightening and sickening than Rick Perry. There's still hype about Bachman(for fundies) and Romney(for the fiscal conservatives)
but Rick Perry is a whole other beast of scary. While Bachman dips from the Palin folksy pool, and Romney dips from the make you fall asleep pool...Rick Perry seems like an evil politician in a hollywood movie.

Anyone else get a seriously nasty vibe from him, that even Mccain and Bachman didn't give?

Some have argued a theory that Obama is merely serving out a wishy washy 4 year term to pave the way for a hardcore fascist GOP leader to take the reigns in 2012.

Least Stone would have plenty of material for a "Rick" movie starring Josh Brolin

It’s Official: Pres. George W. Perry to Seek Third Term
Image

Have you seen the crazies he hangs out with?
http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2011/08/11/maddow_on_perry_new_apostolic_reformation/
According to a cover story in the Texas Observer this month, pastors in the movement believe themselves to be modern day prophets or apostles, directly linked to God. Their aim, explained the article author Forrest Wilder, is "to infiltrate government, and Rick Perry might be their man."

The new prophets and apostles believe Christians—certain Christians—are destined to not just take “dominion” over government, but stealthily climb to the commanding heights of what they term the “Seven Mountains” of society, including the media and the arts and entertainment world. They believe they're intended to lord over it all. As a first step, they’re leading an 'army of God' to commandeer civilian government.
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
Don’t forget that.

Yeah I read a number of articles on the far right Christian extremists Perry has dug his heels in with. These are scary fundies, not the typical megachurch Rick Warren types...I mean seriously scary
Erik Prince types. Even after all the unspeakable evil the Bush regime wrought, I can still get that folsky childlike vibe from Bush in interviews. Whereas Perry is pulsating with evil servile disgustingness.

You're totally right, 8bit. Whereas W was obviously just a mind-controlled freak show, Perry comes off as a bona fide ultra-fascist who knows exactly what he's doing. Scariest part- I think he might be their guy. GOP's person, that is. I dunno about de-throning Obummer or not. Though MSM reports his poll numbers just slipped below 40%.

Post some of those articles about Perry's fundie connections?

He is a creep deluxe. He took money from pharma and tried to force Guardasil on the little girls of Texas. A few hundred mad parents stood that off for us and told Perry to go screw himself. That is about all I need to know about this asshole.

He got invited to Bilderberger too which means he may be the banker's choice.

Oh how I cannot wait for "campaign season" to ramp up. With Democrats who were heretofore centrist, Rick Perry's candidacy could attract some of them as a centrist has no ideals anyhow. Centrists want to be left alone and the economy to work. I agree. I wanna be left alone too and make money. However, there is perfectly nobody on the left anymore to affect any kind of popular progressive and grass roots movement. Kucinich against Perry? C'mon. A total blowout. Maybe Naomi Klein? She's Canadian. Barbara Eherenrich? Glenn Greenwald? Al Franken? Stephen Colbert? All I can say is, I am glad that there is the possibility (?) Rosanne Barr is running. She'd mop the floor with Perry.

There will not be a revolution or any kind of awakening in this country. Stick a fork in it. I think we're just simply in for the ride now.

After the in-your-face fascist period of the USA is over we can then welcome President Duane Alejandro Mountain Dew Camacho.

The only thing to me that's particularly "scary" about election season is that — amazingly! — most people still stress over all the drama. (As if the people really running the show wouldn't still be running it just as much as they are now if Rick Perry won. Or Barack Obama. Or Sarah Palin. Or Michele Bachmann. Or, if given the oath of office, an egg salad sandwich on rye.)

It's Carrousel time once again, baby!

This.

Although I do believe it could be much, MUCH worse. And probably will. If the shift doesn't hurry up and happen.

ImageUnder Scrutiny, Perry Walks Back HPV Decision
by Jay Root8/15/2011

Updated Monday, 2 p.m. CST: Perry spoke to Des Moines-based WHO radio and was asked about his HPV executive order: “That particular issue is one that I readily stand up and say I made a mistake on. I listened to the legislature, they said that was not going to occur, and I agreed with their decision. I don’t always get it right, but I darn sure listen.”

And he said something similar to ABC13 Houston’s Ted Oberg: “I obviously made an error in not having a conversation with the people of the state of Texas rather than just kind out of the blue an executive order. There was a better way to do that, I realize that now. One of the things I do pride myself on, I listen. When the electorate says hey that’s not what we want to do. We backed up, took a look at what we did. I understand I work for the people, it’s not the other way around.”

Original story below:

For years, Gov. Rick Perry has taken flak for his 2007 attempt to require girls to be vaccinated against the human papillomavirus, the most commonly sexually transmitted disease and the principal cause of cervical cancer. At the risk of angering fellow conservatives, Perry has always insisted he did the right thing.

That unapologetic approach changed this weekend.

The presidential elections. You're right, Simulist- mostly it doesn't matter. But I think it matters a little.

Here's how I think they matter: because most of us believe in the legitimacy of presidential elections (even a little), we allow ourselves to be ruled rather than to revolt.

The ruling class therefore courts our belief, even requires it.

I can appreciate that perspective. Isn't that exactly what happened the last time Zbig and the Trilateral Commission took an obscure Democrat into the White House? Funny how smooth Zbig was able to segue from Carter's wishy washy single term into support for 12 years of Reagan and Bush.

Although the hardcore fascist leader is going to be Mitt Romney. Perry, Bachmann and Palin are just there as the sideshow that makes Romney appear centrist. One of them might be drafted as the VP on the ticket to please the Tea Party Christers.
