The RI Book Thread

I wonder if we could have a general book thread here in General Discussion just for short shout outs to excellent books with that RI frisson?

Apropos of this:

I found this an amazingly well argued book, taking on sceptics (so-called) head on and exposing the intellectual vacuity of their arguments regarding paranormal phenomena. At the same time it argues for a rigorously scientific and intellectual approach to these phenomena and for a measure of respect for the experiencers' personal experiences.

Here's two recent pearls I've come across:

Sad to say, I hear Summers' 9/11 book is not up to snuff.

These are two of Anthony Summers best (IMO). The pictured edition of Conspiracy looks as dog-eared as my copy. That edition has been updated twice BTW Rocketman, original 1980, updated 1989, further updated 1998. I also have the Sphere paperback edition released in 2007 containing the John Newman (author of Oswald and the CIA)postscript and now titled The Kennedy Conspiracy?

from Newman's postscript:
. . . I'm signing off on something I know isn't true . . .

- Jane Roman, former CIA CI officer, on being shown documentary proof of her part in Agency deception over Oswald.

As for, Official & Confidential, even though the most 'scandalous' aspects of the negative image of Hoover it projects rely too heavily on unprovable allegations (meaning the Hoover-Tolson photos and the Susan Rosenstiel story) I would venture to suggest that it still presents a far more accurate picture than the disgraceful whitewash served up in Eastwood's abomination of a film.
