Golly. There's just no evidence RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR EYES of War-Propaganda-for-Young-Males during the current -we're-out-of-Iraq-as-noble-winners-PSYOPS campaign.
Isn't WAR, just like soldiers with a mission... noble and romantic and beautiful and epic and all buddy buddy and....?
Target audience: youth.
Who want a Big Boy Role in History.
And heroic status.
...cuz, ya see, "war gets you loyal friends."
Film motto-
"Separated by war.
Tested by battle.
Bound by friendship."
Hmm.
"War, battle, friendship"
"War, battle, friendship"
"War, battle, friendship"
"War, battle, friendship"
And as for the author's essay on writing the book...nothing heals urban youth like a good war, right?
Poor horsies. Forget the millions and millions of children destroyed by wars and the miltary's enforced poverty states.

Saying this author wrote 'Warhorse' to glorify war reveals a talent for story reversal that the CIA would blush at, not to mention appallingly bad taste.

Ironically perhaps, the warhorse in War Horse, Joey, is a catalyst not only for peace, but for reconciliation also.
A superb achievement in film-making.

This is a truly wonderful movie in every way; Academy Award material, most definitely. Not only was the film itself brilliant, but the lead actor, Jeremy Irvine, was also simply magnificent. The story was engaging from start to finish, the characters were believable, and the anti-war messages in the movie were clear and right on.
It would be impossible for me to recommend War Horse more highly. It's a movie for anyone who enjoys the bond that can develop between humans and other animals and the lasting and very real relationships between them that this bond can promise. Ironically perhaps, the warhorse in War Horse, Joey, is a catalyst not only for peace, but for reconciliation also.
A superb achievement in film-making.

This angle of psyops...during the bogus 'end of the Difficult-But-Noble Iraq War'....is beyond you? How do kidz see the advertising?
Have you heard the veteran interviews on National Propaganda Radio?
The thing with people living in psyops since WWI is that, like fish in water, they don't notice it or get how it effects people other than themselves.

See above. Two minutes before your post.
Do you claim that Hollywood has not been a war propaganda factory since WWII?
Do you claim that Spielberg has not been a mil-intel psyoperator all his career?
Do you claim there is NO psyops value to this production/ad campaign in context?

Oh, and is there "peace and reconciliation?"
Or a few weeks breather before the next phase of the permanent economic war system and post-9/11 permanent oil occupation?
DUH!
Sorry, that was unkind. But dammit, get real. Sentimental slop is dished out to keep the system going. In War Horse, war was shown as pointless slaughter and a total waste of lives.
Simulist wrote:You are a crank, Hugh.
And sadly, perhaps even tragically, you've done more in your career here to poison the well concerning an awareness of psyops in the mainstream media culture than you have done to illuminate.
