War crimes, eh. Just business.
Extramarital affair?! To the gallows!
I fail to see this indication of CIA having eaten another military appointee as either good news or bad news. A pox o both your houses, etc.

No one mentions an extra-marital affair in their public statement of resignation unless they're trying to short-circuit an extortion/blackmail attempt. His upcoming testimony is a bit of suspicious timing.

.
What the F does that have to do with running the CIA? More to the point, one would think performing such acts of relative immorality would only strengthen his standing as director of the CIA.
[yes, I posted it twice in both related topics -- actually, looks like JRiddler and perhaps a couple others already beat me to it in any event]

The good general had to go and was probably given a few choices of how he would like it to unfold. He chose this route because even though it might destroy his political career it should qualify him for his own reality show or as an advertiser for drone strike video games, or if all else fails "Dancing with The War Criminals". At a time of Bond Girl imaging, a Paula Broad - well, it fits the narrative as neatly as a Larry Beinhart novel. A drool of intrigue swirling in the flush of a world gone wrong.

Petraeus' biographer Paula Broadwell under FBI investigation over access to his email, law enforcement officials sayNBC's Richard Engel and the Washington Post's David Ignatius discuss the breaking news of CIA director David Petraeus' resignation.
By Richard Engel, NBC News
The biographer for resigning CIA Director David Petraeus is under FBI investigation for improperly trying to access his email and possibly gaining access to classified information, law enforcement officials told NBC News on Friday.
Paula Broadwell is the author of Petraeus' biography, "All In." She had extensive access to Petraeus in Afghanistan and has given numerous television interviews speaking about him.
Petraeus resigned Friday, citing an extramarital affair. The woman involved was not identified.
The law enforcement officials said they do not believe the FBI investigation will result in any criminal charges. They also stressed that Petraeus is not under investigation.
The CIA declined all comment on the case. Broadwell could not be reached for comment.
Broadwell's Twitter account describes her as a national security analyst and Army veteran. A biography on her website says she is married to a radiologist and has two children, both boys. The family lives in Charlotte, N.C. The biography says she is a West Point graduate and a research associate at Harvard University's Center for Public Leadership and a doctoral candidate in the Department of War Studies at King's College London.
Richard Engel is NBC News' chief foreign correspondent.
