I have never noticed any hard core right wing patriot types posting here, a few Alex Jones fans here and there sure, but I have never seen anything at the level of this shitbag on these forums but I dont read everything or know everyone so who knows. I think they would stand out here and be pretty noticeable though.

I know I never would Elfie. I have made promises to my wife that I would always take good care of her and our family, plus my elderly parents need me, of course the main reason I wouldnt do something like that is because its completely and morally fucked up but aside from that I have many other reasons to get up everyday go to work and put food on the table and provide a roof, medical insurance and other things to those who depend on me.

The married couple who police say killed three people in Las Vegas, including two officers, had been kicked off a ranch where anti-government protesters faced down federal agents earlier this year, rancher Cliven Bundy's son said Monday.

Ammon Bundy told The Associated Press that Jerad and Amanda Miller were asked to leave his father's ranch after being there for a few days this spring.

He said that while details were still sketchy, the Millers' conduct was the problem. He called the couple "very radical" and said they did not "align themselves" with the protest's main issues.

"Not very many people were asked to leave," he said. "I think they may have been the only ones."

It does seem like there is some support here for Alex Jones, the Militias, the Patriot movement, and other such things- as well as occasional fulmination against that vaguely defined monster, the "NWO"- so folks such as the shooters could easily want to join in with us here. Nonviolence is one principle we can express to distance ourselves from them, but there are other important principles too.

It is so easy to get mixed up these days. When Bush was President the mainstream left was anti war, anti nsa/wiretapping etc etc, now Obama is President and it is the right who is preaching against the war and the nsa. I know it is all a psiwar and not everyone on the left ascribes to this bullshit but I do see a lot on the mainstream left like at DU and Kos supporting the war and making apologies for the NSA, and MANY on the left HATE Greenwald and Snowden (WTF IS THAT ALL ABOUT?!) something THEY WOULD NEVER WOULD HAVE DONE when Bush was President. So to me, it is just all so fucking confusing anymore, I am not as young as I used to be and I find I cant keep up with it like I once could and I try to be real careful who I align with and show support for because you just dont fucking know what is up and what is down anymore.


But for sure we do have some Alex Jones fans here, I have never seen them post anything too horrible but it is becoming increasingly difficult to give any Alex Jones fan a pass anymore, the guy is completely unhinged to the point any reasonable person should be distancing themselves from him immediately.

Drew would you expand on your psiwar and Larouche comment. I just want to understand, it sounds about right to me if I am understanding you properly. Are you saying these shooters ARE REAL but basically they are the result of various players pushing various conspiracy theories WITH THE HOPE AND INTENTION that it will TILT the crazies in to doing things like this and then the events are used to bring about certain ends.

Because when you say the shooting is the result of a psiwar I can only read it THAT WAY or youre saying the shootings are staged and I know youre not saying that.

I am genuinely interested in this idea so if you would elaborate how it works I would be thrilled to learn more.

To be fair, I'd likely be kicked out of Cliven Bundy Ranch for my nutball anarchist environmentalist intersectional antifa views. To a norm this would probably also be seen as an extreme along the same continuum.

Well yea I can see what you mean, but Miller identifies as a right wing tea party patriot and even the right wing tea party patriots at Bundy Ranch think he is too extreme.

Starting to get a clearer picture of what set these two off. First we learned they sold everything quit their jobs and went to Bundy Ranch with a desire to stay for the long haul, they lasted less than a week and were asked to leave. They came back and stayed with a neighbor at the apartment complex, still dont know why they didnt stay in their own apartment but it says they stayed with her for 3 weeks and left Sunday morning at sunrise then a few hours later the shooting took place. So being asked to leave the Bundy Ranch may have really upset them, they were likely out of money, his parents wanted nothing to do with him and her parents hated him, they had nothing left and likely no money.

Then I also learned of this:

I noticed he had on a T-shirt that said something like -ote For -- rdon for sher---. So of course I had to see if I could figure out who's campaign he was supporting.

It turns out that there is a guy named Gordon Martines who is running for Sheriff of Clark County. On Martines Facebook page regarding this incident it says:

"The Gordon Martines Campaign is saddened by the events yesterday in Las Vegas that left 2 officers and one innocent civilian dead. The shooters came to Nevada and reached out to our campaign to work and we had to deny their involvement after getting to know them and finding out their background and drug use was counter productive to our goals and beliefs. ..."

So, I thought, who is Gordon and why would the Millers want to work for him?

Well, there is quite a bit of information available on him. The article at Las Vegas City Life was interesting. Here is a snippet:

"Martines is technically a Metro cop, a detective, although he’s been on health leave for a couple of years. His campaign platform includes refusing to send friends, family or neighbors to secret FEMA concentration camps and refusing to enforce the Clark County handgun-registration law."

Wearing a sporty blue Hawaiian shirt, Martines spoke recently at a tiny health-food and supplement store in tony Summerlin. (Health-food stores are no longer the province of left-wing hippies.)

“If Martines gets the position of sheriff in this county, things are going to change a bit,” he promised the small crowd of about 20 people squeezed into a storeroom, decorated with a few Ron Paul for President stickers, in the back of the store. “If I am sheriff, there is no law abiding citizen of this county who is going to be sent to a FEMA camp.”

Some people believe that the government is building secret camps to which people will be sent in an inevitable clampdown on the general population. Sightings of black helicopters or National Guard units in training, and reports of emergency response-mass casualty exercises tend to reinforce the conspiracy theory."

After reading that she told her dad they were going out to Vegas to be part of a movement, I assume it was the Patriot Movement since they are big in places like Nevada and Arizona, and then moving out there and being turned away from the campaign and then Bundy Ranch, he was probably a ranting and raving maniac by then telling her everyone was against them and further brainwashing her. I can see how this played out and those two events coupled with reports she was told she couldnt own any guns if she lived with him because he was a felon, likely set them off on the killing spree. If they dont get turned away from the ranch or that campaign it seems likely the shooting would not have happened, at least not YET, but surely this shitbag was looking for any reason he could find.

This is confusing to me. I would describe the Patriot movement, the (U.S.) Libertarian Party, the various militias etc. as right wing. CrimethInc. and Socialist Alternative I would describe as left. I dunno how to describe the folks mentioned above but I see the narrow (and shifting) differences as existing within the confines of Liberalism. Liberalism. as in keeping the current system but trying to make things a bit more fair within the construct of that system.

RI has always mostly been 30-65 year old intelligent people who don't buy into the typical conspiratoid asshattery. It takes a certain humor, self awareness and education to even want to
be interested in this niche blog/site.

Maybe Abovetopsecret, which became quite a cesspool. Or the Godlikeproductions/Icke type forums. Or the "Jews control the world" conspiracy forums. But def not here.

I don't get how the shooters can post Alex Jones "false flag" crap, but then commit real life violence. And then of course Alex Jones says that event is a false flag. It's a feedback loop. Like if you
believe in government conspiracies, why would you create a violent major event? Which can be used by the state.

Yea, I just meant that I see a lot of liberals that I know self identify as being left wing liberals, who HATE Greenwald, Hate Snowden, support the war (because Obama) and are making apologies for the NSA. Yet these very same people were very anti war when Bush was President and were having a stroke when they found out about wiretapping etc.
