Yeah, I know. Not again. But there is something different this time. First, privacy. 2048 bit SSL encryption. User data logging is disabled. No IP addresses are recorded. You don't need a real email to register. Doesn't have any ads.
Not all features are ready. The chat is buggy on some mobile phones. But otherwise ready to go. Sorry if this seems like an ad but what I gather, this place is full of intelligent people. So I think is that if the first people who start using shadowsome.com are intelligent then they will gather more intelligent people after them.
There is a group called Mind Control and Behavioral Science https://shadowsome.com/groups/profile/2493/mind-control-and-behavioral-science which works as an example group. Any user can create groups or wiki-style pages etc.(wiki-style pages visible in https://shadowsome.com/pages/view/15489/genres). Shadowsome might seem a little pointless at this point . But I've started adding content and after a lot of content it will be more like a well indexed easy-to-search database where you can also connect with people. But If I'm the only one adding content then the content will not be very balanced.
Supports up to 300mb uploads that can be shared in five defferent ways:
1. Content is fully encrypted (unaccessable) for everyone except the user himself
2. Content is accessable only for selected receiver or friends (i.e. private messages are decrypted between the sender and receiver)
3. Content is available only inside an user selected group. Groups can be invisible (invite only) so this is a good way to share info between a private party.
4. Content is available for every Shadowsome user who are signed in.
5. Content is fully public and may be indexed by search engines etc. This is the best choice for content, which doesn't require privacy. The content will be available for anyone.
The major reason is that we're undergoing such tremendous social change. Everything people take for granted is changing rapidly. This is because information flow is increasing faster than at any other time in history. I have some favorite figures I like to quote in that connection from the French statistician Georges Anderla, who says information doubled between the time of Christ and Leonardo; that's 1500 years. It doubled again between Leonardo and the steam engine, 250 years; doubled between the steam engine and quantum theory, 150 years; doubled between 1900 and 1950, that's 50 years. And he concluded his study in the '70s; it had doubled between '68 and '73, that was five years. Jacques Vallee recently calculated that it's doubling every eighteen months.
