Hollywood going full-blown propaganda machine

Sometimes I peruse the "trades".
I guess the blockbuster financial success of "American Sniper" means they now can openly fall all over themselves trying to red-white-and-blue each other.
Check this out.

CBS Films Sets Boston Marathon Bombing Pic ‘Patriots’ Day'
"Patriots Day"? Really?
“There is nothing more compelling than a real story populated by real heroes,” said CBS Films President Terry Press.
It will have to compete with another Boston bombing movie Fox wants to do:

But the CBS one will star convicted racist hate-crime perp Mark Wahlberg. That's a big plus.
Then there's this:

American Sniper’ Helmer Clint Eastwood Finds Jewell Project; Can Fox And Warner Bros Work It Out?
by Mike Fleming Jr
March 31, 2015 7:03pm
EXCLUSIVE: Clint Eastwood is seriously circling the job of directing Fox’s high profile Billy Ray-scripted untitled project about Richard Jewell, the heroic security guard who discovered a suspicious backpack in the Olympics compound during the 1996 games in Atlanta. Jewell, who’ll be played by two-time Oscar nominee Jonah Hill, was vilified as a possible terrorist, and his good work in helping clear bystanders from the area before the bomb exploded turned into a trip to the Twilight Zone. Leonardo DiCaprio is a possible to play the Southern lawyer who helped Jewell navigate that hell.
TERRA TERRA TERRA with (swoon) heroes ....
The there's this. A sort of "Forrest Gump" for today.

Relativity Picks Up Eric Bress’ Spec ‘American Drifter’
by Anthony D'Alessandro
March 31, 2015 3:40pm
Eric Bress, the writer-director of The Butterfly Effect and scribe of Final Destination 2, has sold the spec American Drifter to Relativity Studios. Deal marks the second script Bress has sold in four weeks, the last being American Hostage to Bill Block at Merced Media.
American Drifter centers on a man who loses his father, a guy who has taught him to use his mind to do the impossible. Feeling guilty about his death and watching the love of his life go blind in an accident, the man travels the world through the fall of the Berlin Wall, Desert Storm, the LA riots and 9/11. Ultimately, he is reunited with his love.
And this was all in about five minutes of checking out the trades. Yikes.
