Authorities Respond to Report of ’20 Victim Shooting’ Incident in San Bernardino: Fire Dept.

San Bernardino Fire Department units were responding to a report of a “20-victim shooting” on Wednesday, authorities said.

The incident was reported in the 1300 block of South Waterman Avenue, the Fire Department tweeted shortly before 11:15 a.m.

San Bernardino police confirmed around 11:30 a.m. there was an active shooter in the area of Orange Show Road / Waterman Avenue near Park Center Circle.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department warned people to avoid the area due to police activity.

A “hard closure” was in effect at Orange Show Road / Waterman Avenue and Park Center Circle in San Bernardino, the Sheriff’s Department tweeted.

The suspects, she said, are heavily armed and were possibly wearing body armor.

“It’s a very active scene,” Cervantes said. “It’s very fluid.”

The area is known for its gang violence, and is a fairly socioeconomically depressed. A RT tweet mentioned Planned Parenthood, but they've came out to say their facility isn't one that's affected.

Despite reports of a Planned Parenthood in the area, a representative for the organization told CNBC that the shooting was not at their facility. Last Friday, a gunman stormed a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado, killing three people.

Inland Regional Center, located on the 1300 block of South Waterman Street, serves residents of San Bernardino and Riverside counties who have developmental disabilities.

Weird as fuck. I have colleagues that grew up round those parts and they are perplexed as to the what and why of this thing.

Yeah I can't believe that this was the target. We've had a lot of conversations about the notion of "evil" here lately but terrorizing through a mass murder at a care facility for people with developmental disabilities is cartoonishly evil like an 80s action movie.
