The constant use of the word “
like” in a sentence where it,
like, doesn’t belong. Today, every other word is "like". It's especially prevalent in the younger,
post literate, thanks to Common Core and the dumbing down of America generations, but I catch myself using this slang interjection. It drives me crazy! People over 65 seem immune.
Can you imagine:
" Like four score and like seven years ago our fathers like brought forth on like this continent a new like nation, conceived in like liberty, and like dedicated to the like proposition that all men are created like equal."
This "like" phenomenon will never end because, today, I'm sure teachers use it as much as their students, parents as much as their kids, etc...
Since when did everyone transform into valley girls?
Other words or phrases I hate:
"baby daddy"
"as if"
