On Monday, Infowars announced it has been granted press credentials that will allow Washington bureau chief Jerome Corsi — a prominent swiftboater and birther — to attend White House press briefings.
Later that same day, Infowars founder Alex Jones smeared the victims of the attack during the Ariana Grande show in Manchester that killed at least 22 people, describing them as “liberal trendies.”
“The same people — God love them — on average who are promoting open borders, bringing Islamists in,” he added.

Later during his rant, Jones characterized the victims as “a bunch of liberals who have already run up the white flag to the Islamists, and this happens so more of our liberties can be lost, and so governments in Europe, the U.K., and the U.S. can say, ‘Don’t criticize Muslims, or they’ll blow you up, because they’re the religion of peace.’”
Grande, whose first national exposure came on Nickelodeon, has many teen and pre-teen fans. As the U.K.-based Metro publication reported, “Twelve children under the age of 16 were among the 59 casualties taken to hospital after the terror attack at Manchester Arena.” One of the first confirmed fatalities was an 8-year-old girl named Saffie Rose Roussos.

One witness who saw the aftermath of the attack told CNN, “It was a lot of children, with blood all over them." These are the people Jones went out of his way to smear on Tuesday night.
He’s done stuff like this before. Infowars is perhaps best known for relentlessly spreading the conspiracy theory that the 2012 school shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, was a hoax. Leonard Pozner, father of one of the 20 children killed in that mass shooting, told the Daily Beast during Jones’ recent custody trial, “I wish I could be there in the courtroom to stare him down to remind him of how he’s throwing salt on a wound, and so he can remember how he handed out salt for other people to throw on mine.”
During that trial, Jones described himself as a “performance artist” instead of a journalist. But his act has real and negative consequences for people like Pozner, who described to the Daily Beast how he was threatened and harassed by Jones’ conspiracy-obsessed fans.
Jones’ promotion of baseless Sandy Hook conspiracies wasn’t enough to keep then-candidate Trump for going on his show in December 2015 and telling him, “Your reputation is amazing… I won’t let you down.”
Eight months later, Jones said he was advising Trump about “election fraud.” According to Jones, Trump took him seriously, telling him he’s “already concurred and absolutely was on the same page and was already right there with me or even ahead of me.”

Per James Wheeler, who knows Libya, on Twitter, the accused's father Abu Ismail was a high-up in Hakim Belhaj's Libya Islamic Fighting Group - the ones NATO backed to get rid of Gaddafi. More lately he's been associated with the Ghariani family, notorious Tripoli beardies. The father Sadiq is Libya's mufti and routinely attacks Haftar and the Tobruk government (secular-leaning) as apostates; the son Sohail has apparently been left to enter the UK on a few occasions to preach at mosques favoured by radicals.

Salman Abedi (the accused), per a Telegraph piece, went to Libya lately, according to a neighbour.

But again it's the US spooks who say it was Abedi, so season to taste.

It's now 44 hours since the incident. Three absolutely fundamental questions remain unanswered:

1. Could someone at long last condescend to inform the public exactly where the bomb went off?

Where did it happen?

- Manchester Arena said the incident took place “outside the venue in a public space”.
- The blast was reported to have hit the foyer of the building at about 10.30pm, British Transport police said.

So which was it, ffs? Or was it somewhere else entirely? Other reports say the bomb went off in or near the box office. Locating the epicentre of a large explosion is not exactly rocket science, so why have we still not been told exactly where it went off?

Note that we have never seen a single cellphone photo or film from the scene.

2. On the basis of what evidence, exactly, was Salman Abedi (22) identified to the media (by "two unnamed American officials") as a suicide bomber? How did he get to [wherever-it-was] with a bomb capable of killing or injuring nearly a hundred people? Why should he kill himself at all rather than just dropping the bag [or whatever-it-was] and leaving?

Exactly what makes it clear that he was the culprit rather than just another of the victims?

The bomber in the Manchester terrorist attack appeared to have carried a powerful explosive in a lightweight metal container concealed either within a black vest or a blue Karrimor backpack, and to have held a small detonator in his left hand, according to preliminary information gathered by British authorities.

Yeah, that NYT screed appeared just 15 minutes after my post. What the fuck is going on here? First, US officials name the alleged perpetrator, and now US media carry the first images of the alleged bomb-components.

Regardless of the reliability of any of this info: Who the fuck is LEAKING it to the United States, and why? This is a psy-op, any way you look at it.

It is also a disgrace and an embarassment to any nation that claims to be either a) independent or b) even minimally serious about its own national security. Amber Rudd should be forced to resign over this. (But of course she won't be. She will probably get a fucking Congressional Medal of "Honor", for services rendered.)

The Guardian reports that the British were unsure they even wanted to release the name because the investigation was ongoing, and it was strongly believed that another terror attack may have been "imminent." But once the U.S. networks forced their hand, the British government had no choice but to confirm the identity of the bomber.

There is little doubt that American intelligence personnel deliberately leaked the name of the suicide bomber. The question is why.

The question is why, right. The question is also: Why are they STILL leaking info -- now to the NYT -- well over 24 hours after the initial leak?

And of course: how?. How do "unnamed American officials" (sic) gain access to this information in the first place -- and so extremely quickly, too? Maybe they just invent it from scratch and order the Brits to play along.
