Mistakes were made.

The Mountain were the original crazy-motherfuckers-in-power, at least as far as the template of the modern era goes. Imagine being Saint-Just, in your early 20s and so damn radical, finding yourself in the position of making history.

Mistakes will always be made, unfortunately. OP applies to the Russian Revolution as well. Fuuuuck the Soviets fucked that up so bad.

Anyway, the French Revolution... mixed bag I guess. Good riddance to feudalism, or at least the beginning of its end. I guess what came after is a little more complicated.

I am reflecting on 1789, between worlds as the shadows lengthen, neither on nor off the bus yet.

13 page essay you might enjoy, assuming you haven't read it yet. The pages 10-13 are most relevant.

We could use a little possibilism right about now.
