Chael Sonnen's disturbing story

I wonder what was in the hole? When I was watching and listening, I thought it was going to be about the Hollywood pedophile ring and Sonnen's friend was going to find some children in the hole. But it didn't. It's an odd story for sure, involving movies and pro-wrestling.
It reminds me of a story from a movie called Encounters with the Unknown, with Rod Serling. A boy loses his dog in a strange hole and tells his dad. A bunch of men tie a rope around the dad and lower him into the hole. While he is some ways down, he screams, they pull him up and when they pull him all the way out, he is gone mad, runs off into the woods screaming. Always wondered what could cause him to go mad like that.
