Trump signed an EO for the creation of a sovereign wealth fund wtf. The hilarity never ends. Hopefully he will announce that the US is buying the NY Yankees.

Conspicuously left out of this tweet is Yasir Al-Rumayyan, the head of the Saudi sovereign wealth fund and chair of Saudi Aramco, who was seated right next to Trump throughout the match.

I wonder which Trump-grifter or Thiel disciple will be running the SWF?

I really can't keep track which is, I suppose, the point, anyways.

Just read that USPS has suspended packages from Hong Kong and China, NSF appears to be flagging all grant apps with a bevy of keywords used in most social sciences research, Musk still playing with the treasury and dems locked out, Netanyahu at the white house looking like the nazi he is alongside Musk, Trump about to abolish DOE, USAID already gone, all CIA employees offered buyouts, and T2 blithely states Gaza will be a US territory more or less.

Is this even fun anymore?

It's always fun and games until someone gets hurt...

WIRED
@WIRED
If you’ve been wondering what Elon Musk and his lackeys are up to since taking control of the US government, look no further. Our latest story names six 19- to 24-year-olds working with his DOGE organization, which now has access to sensitive federal systems.

https://www.wired.com/story/elon-musk-g ... engineers/

And these kids get doxxed with thinly veiled suggestions that they get the Luigi treatment.
Not to make light of it either way but we are obviously in a period of rising political violence on both personal and global levels, and Trump is caught right in the middle of it. If not Iran, it's easy to see even more direct warfare with Yemen. See how thin the US military can spread especially if Rubio decides it's time to start up the War for Taiwan.
btw- USAID isn't gone, just shedding any pretense of humanitarian purpose before being incorporated into Rubio's Start Department so that he can control the CIA's fuckery.

Elon Musk Wants to Get Operational Control of the Treasury’s Payment System. This Could Not Possibly Be More Dangerous

https://www.crisesnotes.com/elon-musk-w ... dangerous/

Musk’s DOGE team has been asking for what the New York Times reporting refers to as “source code information” since December and has been rebuffed. The CNN reporting specifically states that they were inquiring about the technical ability to stop payments.

David Lebryk has been an employee at the United States Treasury since 1989 and has been Fiscal Assistant Treasury Secretary since 2014, which is the highest position a civil service employee can reach; everyone above him is a political appointee. Donald Trump named Lebryk acting Treasury Secretary while his nominee Scott Bessent went through the nominations process; as of this writing Lebryk is still listed on the Treasury’s website as the acting Deputy Secretary of the Treasury. His understanding of the operational systems that undergird the functioning of the United States Treasury is far and away unparalleled. In particular, he is widely credited with being the person who is overwhelmingly responsible for the undisrupted continuity of cash inflows and outflows at the Treasury during the recurrent debt ceiling crises of the past 15 years while concurrently ensuring the debt ceiling limit was not breached.

Lebryk being put on paid administrative leave reportedly happened after he requested and got a meeting with Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, fresh from his confirmation by the Senate. Bessent’s full willingness to cooperate with DOGE’s desire to access the operational aspects of the Treasury’s payment system, even to the point of overruling Lebryk, is an extremely shocking development.
...
The danger is also not in the near future, it is here.

This is a misconception. Money puts human energy to work. Humans can store money that isn't taxed back. But government money isn't store energy.

https://www.crisesnotes.com/day-seven-o ... newsletter

The war over “Read and Write” continues. In court, in congress & in the press on Wednesday the Trump administration had been officially denying that DOGE programmers had Read and Write access. For the first time, the administration has acknowledged by name that Marko Elez has access to the top secret systems of the Bureau of the Fiscal Service’s payment systems. No one in government had publicly acknowledged that the 25 year old former Spacex programmer had such sensitive access. Their “defense” of this is that this is “read only” access.

We’ll return to whether that is true in a moment. For now it's important to step back and understand how enormous of an acknowledgement that is. To have “read only” access would involve enormous security risks and the ability to exploit extremely, absurdly, sensitive information to the benefit of Elon Musk, Trump and his inner orbit or anyone else that Marko Elez or DOGE employees (and in some cases, seemingly not employees) feels like.

Elon Musk and his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) have gained access to a unit within the Treasury Department called the Bureau of Fiscal Service. But what does this unit actually do? How critical of a role does it play in the operations of government, and potentially, financial markets? On this episode, we speak with Nathan Tankus, the author of the Notes On The Crises (https://www.crisesnotes.com/) newsletter. He explains both the technical aspect of this office, as well as the legal questions surrounding impoundment and the ability of the executive branch to cut off payments that have been previously authorized by Congress. We also talk about the operational risks and the potential disaster scenario should this system — which has been built in COBOL over decades — go down.

https://www.zerohedge.com/political/10-days-shook-world

What they found was an acting head of the U.S. Treasury named David A. Lebryk, who turns out to be the highest-ranking person in the civil service. Lebryk had been promoted to that position on January 20, but his former boss was the deputy head of Treasury, a Nigerian émigré named Wally Adeyemo, who had at one time been head of the Obama Foundation. His resignation put Lebryk in the driver’s seat of the world’s biggest outgoing payroll system

That’s right, you cannot make this stuff up!

Lebryk absolutely refused to turn over the passwords. After what was said to be a shouting match, he resigned on the spot. Then Elon’s crew took control of the passwords to the system that was sending out $6 trillion on autopay..

yeah, why would Wally, the deputy head of Treasury, be the "highest ranking person in the civil service on January 19th? and not Janet Yellen? How long had he had the lever? which position has legal authority and who has it now?

Isn't this how it's supposed to work? The political appointees are removed during the transition, and the highest ranking civil servant steps up temporarily until the new appointees are in place. I'm not surprised zerohedge makes it out to be some kind of scandal, because they're absolutely shit. They seem to think it's a good thing that the world's richest man and a bunch of kids with no experience or clearance got full control over classified systems that contain the personal information on every American. If this was happening under Biden there would be a two-hundred page thread by now about the Biden Coup.

it is all under the executive branch. if the prez doesn't have control of the branch then why are we arguing about who's prez? They are not afraid it is going to be stolen. They are afraid it will be publicized.
