Oswald had in truth been a CIA asset whose purpose was to ferret out suspected Communist sympathizers serving in the Corps
but Oswald's background is such a huge smoking gun if you'll pardon the metaphor.
And this background of Discordianism is also very interesting. I get the feeling that the Discordians were not just a joke but I'll be damned if I can figure what that's all about. I got an email from someone (sorry I can't remember who at present...but I'll try to dig it up if someone wants) tracing a lot of the 9/11 truth movements less likely conspiracy theories to the Discordians.

Did you know when you wrote that, that the hologram theory was started by a
Discordian? (note from DE...some guys came on my blog and insisted that they had proof that only high energy beams from space could have downed the WTC. I asked, tongue in cheek (I thought) if they were Discordians.)
I first came across the hologram theory here:
http://www.questionsquestions.net/WTC/webfairy.html
"Webfairy's Reign of Error"
WF seems to have a bunch of sites now, but: http://www.thewebfairy.com/911/
I had actually met WF a year before 9/11, on a web security forum grc.com.
A guy named Keith Little (PCHelp) had written a negative review of an
antivirus program called Lockdown2000, and was being sued by the makers of
LD2K. I had just gotten interested in computer security, and had found his
review - which resulted in some personal threats from the makers, which led
to Little doing some more investigation into them (PCHelp's investigation is
here, btw:
http://www.pc-help.org/www.nwinternet.c ... index.html ).
Right after I found it, the lawsuit was announced, and an ad hoc group
formed at grc to "Help PCHelp", I was part of the group - one of my first
online interactions - but the group was essentially by two forum friends,
The Webfairy and Abu Jamal. I did a LOT of research into LD2K and the
principals, my first in depth research, and my 1st exposure to multi-level
marketing, and there was a TON of weirdness, including former FBI agents
promoting LD2K... Anyway...
The Webfairy was a Discordian, obvious through many refs to Eris, and she
would claim she could "poof lies and nonsense" with her "magic wand". Abu
Jamal was a Muslim, who owns muslimamerica.net, and was a frequent poster on
Muslim NGs. AJ started giving legal advice, and when questioned, said he
wasn't a lawyer, but had studied law (while in jail); and eventually
disclosed that he had served as judge for his religion's capital court.
This raised only a few eyebrows - since a "capital crime" usu refers to
'being punishable by death'. AJ never clarified when pressed on this
point. Within a week, AJ had viciously stabbed WF in the back, kicking her
out of the group, and proceded to exercise a weird cult-like control over
the dozen or so core members of the group (there were only 2 vocal
dissenters in the forum wondering WTF was going on), eventually making
statements about the PCHelpers being the "chosen ones" and weird crap like
that. I stayed around lurking because I was fascinated, but terrified at
how quickly this took hold. Fortunately, I was moving shortly after this -
I took a leave & never looked back.
However, I felt sorry for what happened to the Webfairy. Googling her years
later, I found the "Reign of Error" link above. I also found this: a short
story by T Casey Brennan called Conjurella: The Last Witch -
http://pweb.netcom.com/~mthorn/thewitch.htm<http://pweb.netcom.com/%7Emthorn/thewitch.htm>.
Brennan is a comic book writer from the 70s (Vampirella) -
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/T._Casey_Brennan - and claims that he shot JFK
as a MK-ULTRA ( see http://tcasey.inri.net/ ). The Last Witch is the story
of Brennan meeting the Webfairy. (Sidebar - Brennan also claimed to be the
reincarnaton of Aleister Crowley...)
Up until finding those links, the whole incident was just another weird
surreal event in my life. After, it seemed decidedly weird that the
principals were (what I can only describe as) an extremist Muslim and a
Discordian who would later go on to loudly promote one of the most
ridiculous 9/11 "truth" claims, who was also associated with a purported
MK-ULTRA survivor.
(Add into the mix that GRC was run by a Steve Gibson
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Gibson who told the forum around this
time that he was consulting for the FBI. From the Wiki page - "Gibson has
generated controversy by taking unusual positions on security and other
technical issues, and for doing so with a demeanor often perceived as
self-aggrandizing." A page well worth reading http://www.grcsucks.com/ "Gibson
is masterful at stirring up an emotional response in the people who come to
his site, and then manipulating these people into believing exactly what he
wants them to. The tragedy is that these people come to him looking for
facts and information, and come away thinking that they have found some! Gibson
tries to present himself as a selfless source of public information, yet his
entire site is full of emotional manipulation, misinformation, and
misdirection." Which somehow resonates, and is part of the reason I'm
sharing this with you...)
Unfortunately, all the forums this activity occured on back in 2000 are
completely gone from the GRC site So I had thought "all the evidence had
been wiped". But I recently came across two links that at least confirm
AJ's presence on GRC wrt pchelp:
http://www.eggheadcafe.com/anti-virus/g ... 68413.asp("Check
out grc.security.software and you will see abujamal FLOODING the group by
cross posting the same garbage that destroyed the pc-help group. I don't
know what his problem is but from what I've seen he's done more harm than
good in these groups.")
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/527921/posts ("Beware like all
TROLLS he has many aliases but he is easy to spot from his email addresses
and the propoganda he spreads. He claims the only hope for America is Islam
and that if you insult him that you should be careful his more militant
brothers do not get to hear of it from him. Do a little research on him with
the above search criteria and you will turn up alsorts of fundamentalist and
radical activist crap, screaming for jihad and many more of his cut and
paste ramblings posted to enflame and poke a reaction.")

Breaking news - I never looked into Keith Little's past, but while writing

the critics of CoS.

Not sure if it is the same, but I am looking into it...
Anyway - it was extremely weird - that an extremist mulsim and a discordian
(& future 9/11 disinformer) were involved in this online MK cult on the site
of the FBI's phony IT guru... As far as I know, I am the only one who's
pulled all this together...

Hi all: It has always seemed to me that Discordianism is basically about culture jamming, as I understand it. I had a grasp of its intentions before I'd even heard the term "culture jamming." It would not surprise me at all to learn that it had been co-opted or infiltrated by intelligence agencies.
