It looks like I am going to be coming to this. Looking forward to meeting whoever can make it from RI, and just enjoying everyone's artworks. If an unsavory troll happens to show up, I bet it will be easier to spot him/her in person than via the forum, but I doubt any trolls will show, they don't like to come out from under the bridge usually.

You're not a troll, Seamus! Maybe a giant or a half-ogre, but certainly not a troll..

Awright, who's coming out for this?

I'm trying to be super frugal so I can at least make it for a few days. I've not had as much work as I would have liked, so not able to stay longer as I had planned :(

But, I look forward to meeting you folks :)

I'm in the final stretch of finishing the painting I want to show and am still planning on coming to Seattle. I really shouldn't spend the money, but what the heck--!?! Lotsa beautiful mountains thereabouts, so I can take many photos for future planetscape paintings and eventually recoup my modest costs. Wish everyone could be there...

Last count there were 8 or 9 RI folks planning to make the trip.

I also invited some known spooks just to make you all feel welcome. Pay no attention to the planter at the doorway.
(joking, joking, of course!)

You all have a great time, I'll be in Hawaii. 8)

Ehem, everyone gets that as a joke, right?

The things not in question should you visit: art on display, crowds, good food, and good drink.

Will do. I just got my original back from the printer today and will pack and ship it tomorrow or Friday. If I send it regular ground UPS, will it get to you in time? Or should I plan on springing for air shipping? (I haven't mailed art anywhere in ages--no idea of transit times or expense)

Lily... I should enforce the deadline, but if it costs you a significant amount, save your money by all means. A day or two will not make a huge dent.

That's much appreciated, PW--thank you. It was supposed to be back from the printer's last Friday, which would have made ground shipping easy, but here I am half a week later  And no one seems to have a box that it (plus rigid foam reinforcement) will fit into, so that's this AM's project--hit all the moving/packing/shipping stores. I used to have shipping supplies like this on hand and can see that I need to get that organized again...

So it looks like there is a good possibility I may not be able to go, due to the fact that I have had so little work. I wasn't expecting things to be this slow. If nothing picks up for me over the next couple of weeks, it's a no go, wich sucks. I was quite looking forward to meeting some RI folk. I will try my damndest, though, because I was so excited about it. I at least have my passport on it's way, so we'll see :?

Peregrine, that makes me sad that you might not be able to go. I mean, I'm sad I'm not going, but I knew from the beginning I couldn't so I didn't get my hopes up. I really hope things turn around and you'll be able to be there.
