This song is NOT meant as a commentary ON ANYTHING!!

Any attempts to interpret my posting of it within the context of any ongoing conflicts or conversations outside of the bald meaning of the thread title, "What are you listening to right now?" shall be considered null and void. Any resemblance to persons living, dead, or fictional or situations past, present, or fictional is purely and completely coincidental. Whatever shades of meaning might be inferred by the reader as reflective upon any other shades of meaning or circumstance are the sole property of that reader or poster him- or herself. I am simply rocking out here to one of my all-time favorite Tubes cuts, which is, in and of itself, a fine, fine thing.

Jesus Christ on a paradolia ham sandwhich, none of the youtube vids I have posted were, as Jeff recently accused me of in pm, "link-bating", nor an attempt to convey anything, though after being accused of it, and looking back over them I could see that it could be interpreted in that way, if your paranoid. Not that being paranoid is a bad thing, hell, I'm as they come, but I have never ever been a fan of online games, of any sort, I have never played arg, or wow, or any of them type psychological games. Just never had any interest. So I can't understand how someone could think that at all. It's not worth my time. As I ve said before, I'm a political junkie, not a virtual reality game player. But you guys go ahaead and beilieve what you will, because, you will anyway. Which puts me in a no win situatation, EVEN THOUGH I NOT PLAYING A GAME AND NEVER HAVE. Now, I'm second guessing stuff to post, (will it offend someone, will it be mis-interpreted) fuck it.

I just looked at five fucking videos thinking to post and ALL of them could be seen in such a way as to be something they are not if your thinking they are an attempt to convey whatever twisted signal one is looking for....

I'm good with accepting that as the last word on its merits, as I very much hope that you will be with the following.

First of all, I'm totally sure that I have sometimes responded to a perceived dig, jibe, insult or taunt from you when there was none. In fact, I know I have, since I totally flipped the fuck out in GD over absolutely nothing that you were responsible for in....wait a moment....this thread here.

Which was inarguably completely fucking loony of me. In my own opinion, at least. Although, as it happens, I very seriously doubt that even the looniest loon on RI could fail to see how loony I was being, in that particular instance.

But whatever the case, obviously, all posters are and should be free to decide whether said looniness was typical or atypical, as their judgment and understanding dictate. Which is none of my business, really, although this is:

I am both deeply sorry and deeply ashamed of myself for having flipped the fuck out over absolutely nothing that you were responsible for in that thread. And I very much hope that you'll forgive me for it.

As to the rest of the paradolia vs. dog-whistling debate, I fully concede that I could be wrong. Or I could be right. However, even if I were (the latter), objectively speaking, it would be such a trivial offense as to barely qualify as one, in and of itself. So fwiw, from that perspective (and as a matter of fact, from every perspective) as far as I'm concerned, you certainly don't owe me any apologies for that or for anything else. And call me a cock-eyed optimist, but since I feel fairly confident that you'll agree with me on that one, I'm just going to leave it at that.

I do have a little more trouble reconciling the outraged-innocence, I'm-a-political-junkie-not-a-game-player defense with the record. And I do take that a little more seriously than I do interpersonal sniping.

Because it does have kind of depressing implications for what presently passes for a high standard in the arena of political discourse when a soi-disant non-game-playing passionate participant in it is so fully justified in thinking he can make such a claim with very little risk that there will be anyone around who even takes either politics or discourse seriously enough to go through the empty exercise of bringing up some, any or all of the low-hanging challenges to it -- à la "Uh-huh. Right." -- and no risk at all that he wouldn't be able easily to dismiss them simply by repeating the claim in the unlikely event that there was.

But whatever. That game's still too small to be worth the candle, purely as a matter of principle. Praxis is as praxis does, to coin a redundant phrase. And....Why, if I just go out and apply that same principle to something practical, we all win!

Shorter version: I'm happy to settle for "Ain't no big thing" and to offer you an apology that's both due and truly felt. I hope that you are too.

These songs got taken down for copyright violation before I could post them a year or so ago, aren't addressed to anyone, and mean nothing. I just like the way she sings. Also I used to have that Raelettes single. But I left it somewhere in approximately 1976 and haven't yet figured out where.

Also, in case you're in any doubt about it:

I promise that no matter what you post from now on, I will leave you in peace. And I sincerely hope that you will henceforth flourish and prosper free from all further nuisance and molestation. So please, please don't waste another moment thinking about how something you want to post might look to anyone whom you have a reason to think sees the world through a lens of distorted perception.

And I do mean anyone, not just me. Because if there's one damn thing on earth I know, it's that no one has ever gotten themselves anywhere by trying to second-guess crazy people apart from crazy. Because the crazy have a home field advantage that pretty much borders on invincibility, in my experience. There's no predicting what the fuck the ground rules are going to be from one moment to the next, it's just a pure madhouse. If you absolutely can't avoid engaging with lunatics, you're much better off just honorably proceeding to the rules as you understand them and letting them drive themselves crazy trying to figure out where the nothing you're concealing is. Or from your point of view "isn't," I suppose. But you know what I mean, I'm sure.

I hereby certify the foregoing as 100 percent hidden-or-opaque agenda-free.

I believe this song has a Fred West theme to it. They are both from Gloucester and it's environs. She is beautiful.

See, that is why it's okay to be "rock poet" master of schlock like post-Birthday Party Nick Cave.

But, just like our boring-ass reality where we get not one but two shoe bombers, I'm more repetitive than that.
