I've given him a seven-day vacation. I'm beginning to need one myself.

(And I'm not buying Percy's routine, either.)

Nordic doesn't want to hang out here anymore. Sorry, but I have a very hard time seeing his personal perspective as inhabiting the moral center of the board.

I left off the forum last night at about one o'clock, with the hope and expectation that he would remain true to his word and vanish for a while, but I should have known it was just a feint. I'm pretty much over all five stages of grief about him, just as I'm pretty much over worrying because certain people on this board dislike 17breezes rough posting style.

Regarding Percival, I'll tell you, it always irks me when someone like that complains that the mods aren't protective enough of their personal space and sense of respect. Those kinds of pleas tend to make me less sympathetic rather than more, frankly. I don't care for him, but his version of events deserves some representation here, if only to bring forth the dedicated challengers, like Alice. Ha! She couldn't resist.

Tell me, what part of his routine is defaulting your suspension of disbelief? Or is it just asking too much to have to listen to an Israeli go on and on about their ceaseless persecution at the hands of the Palestinians in the face of the events of the last few days?

The whole thing is a tough nut, and I think you're doing pretty much the exact right thing. I'm just sorry I couldn't have been more helpful. I just love locking threads. It's childish, I know.

Maybe it's that I never paid attention before, but I don't recall Percival being such a vocal advocate for Israel. Coupled with his long sulking absence, made me suspect that he may have jumped into the thick of it for disruptive pleasure.

You know, it's weird. Sepka can be as zionist as he wants to be and has never caught the shit that 17breezes has. Makes me think much of the strife is not really about the subject at hand.

It's personality pure and simple. Sepka isn't argumentative. She simply proclaims and then disappears, not taking offense at the responses to her outrageousness.

Percival had made it public that he is a zionist Israeli long before this thread, but I agree, it is funny to see him participating so actively after such a long absence.

You beat me to it! Chump's post to Alice had my finger on the trigger, too. Shades of vigilant, as well.

Let's ban his ass.

Agreed. I knew he'd be asking for it sooner or later.

I hate to say it, but this post trips my wire. Equating a jew (formerly) on this board - any jew, for that matter - to "pure human shit" is a bit too close to the hardcore dehumanising talk for a guy nicknamed "Nordic", in this environment.

Next time he looks at me cross-eyed, or says a fucking swearword to me, or just about anyone else, I'm gonna ban him. I'm sooo done. That wasn't the nice way for him to come back on the board. Uh-uh. Oh no you don't.

I must admit to having a soft spot for Nordic, but I'm cringing when he starts berating Jeff & the rules. You're a mighty patient fellow Jeff.

I don't have a soft spot exactly, but I do find unassailable moral high grounds hilarious. Especially in someone with such caustic lapses in judgement.

I used to have a malleable fontanelle, but it hardened into skullbone right about the time I realised there was only about one single self-identified jewish poster on the board. And when she goes, Bob's married to your mother's sister.

heh, I personally find "righteous" indignation blowouts funny too, but I do find it irritating when the berating of the admin & owner of the site starts becoming a regular thing with his posts. Perelandra called him out on that & I'm glad. May I send him a polite pm?

Sure, sounds good.

I don't have a thin skin, but the becoming a regular thing thing, that's just disruption.
