In other words, now that we know the alleged perpetrator is not Muslim, we know -- by definition -- that Terrorists are not responsible; conversely, when we thought Muslims were responsible, that meant -- also by definition -- that it was an act of Terrorism.

Yes. It also reminds me of the Winnenden school massacre in Germany, where one teenage boy is alleged to have committed two sets of killings in two different places fairly far apart, and where multiple reports of a second shooter dressed very differently were subsequently consigned to the memory hole.
The emerging story of this double massacre in Norway strikes me as not just deeply horrible but also increasingly weird. The whole thing smells fishy. It's not just this fiddling about with his Facebook page (though who the hell did that??) His biography also looks weirdly artificial and cobbled-together. And if his motivation really was racial hatred, then why did he choose those particular targets? (i.e., one indiscriminate bombing in the city centre and one lengthy massacre of -- apparently -- mainly "Nordic" youths.) It also practically beggars belief that one man alone could have done what he did, so cold-bloodedly, so tirelessly, in two different places considerably far apart, and for such a very, very long time.
Not the least of the weirdnesses/anomalies is that he actually survived and is now under arrest. (What proportion of these spree killers either commit suicide in a paroxysm of self-disgust or are shot dead by the police? And how did the police even manage to arrest him? Are they exceptionally brave in Norway? Or did he just stop shooting and give himself up?)
Certainly I would not be surprised if he suffered a sudden heart attack or was found hanged in his cell before coming to trial.
PS I know the foregoing consists mainly of suspicions and speculations, but a) there's no law against it, b) this website is not called Relentless Suspicion for nothing, and c) what we don't suspect can't hurt them.
Bin Laden was unarmed in his bedroom and got his head blown off. Meanwhile, Anders Behring Breivik just got finished murdering 80+ kids, and must have been armed to the teeth, but he was taken into custody. ALIVE. But I'm probably crazy for finding this strange.

I want to hear the story of how this guy was taken into custody as well.
Could it be that the legal systems of Norway, Sweden and Finland were not "robust" enough to handle the coming social unrest?

Yup.

This is just being reported on the Iltalehti website as one of the recipients was a Finnish local politician belonging to the right-wing, xenophobic True Finn Party, who just forwarded the message without reading it to her contacts because it said "islam" on the title () and only later heard from one of the people she sent it to that the "study" included pictures of Breivik, some of them very same ones we have seen in the media after the attacks. The "study" was written by a "Andrew Berwick".
