I think the only argument along the spectrum of outright fraud to complete, gospel truth, that you could make on the truth end is that O'Brien had some of these experiences and then got sent a new handler: mark Phillips.

I haven't read TOA...and I have seen the video but it was obviously an edited version as it didn't have this footage. I don't know how a doctor knows if a carving is "ritualistic" or not. I'll check out the video...but the carving is old, I take it and that is what the doctor means by authentic? Surely there could be no doubt if it was carved or not.

anyway, there is this phenomenon of these victims of such experiences getting connected up with guys who seem less trustworthy and push the person (in my opinion) to add details that are simply not tru but make a complete picture that supports (I'm afraid to say) certain assumptions.

I think Phillips figured out, for example, that their initial audience was more rightwing and the story began to shift, if I recall, to have UN in charge of the NWO. I think they moved from there to her recollections of Bush turning into a reptile to get the Ick crowd. I may not have the details right, but that's the kind of thing I noticed.

Jeff, of course, posted the picture of Cheney that suggests O'Brien was certainly right to describe Cheney as "oversized"...to keep it PG for the moment. But if there is some kind of intel involvement, or just the fact that such pictures are available, shows that even that detail is not really proof of anything...though it was rather chilling when Jeff posted that.

Here are the basic problems I have with O'Brian/Phillips. None of them disprove anything, though you can't actually DISPROVE something. And these factors can be explained either as a complete hoax or a troubled O'Brian put into the hands of a devious handler. I can't think of anyway that I would trust Phillips at this point.

1. My first real suspicions were raised when I read a piece by O'Brian and looked up their website. The piece said their daughter was forcibly committed to a psych hospital against their (the parents') wishes. Also turned out that the two live in my hometown, so I wrote to ask if there was something I could do...petitions, help generate some local press, whatever.
The response I got back was really all I needed to distrust the couple. Cathy wrote back and said that I should simply buy their next book to get more of the story.

Can you IMAGINE reacting that way if your kid was in this situation? Think of Noreen Gosch. One reason I find her believable (though people did come around her in a similar manner to Phillips...I think of Ted Gunderson primarily) saying something like that. From a marketing standpoint she's terrible, because she's given away just about all the story (I still would like to get her book though.) So, even though I distrust some of the influences around Gosch, I certainly buy her story. Plus, of course, so much is documented.

2. Phillips' background changes depending on when an article on him was written. It's really not clear. But one version...and the version that would have to be true to explain how he's able to work with O'Brian as he does...is that he has some kind of intelligence background and JUST HAPPENED to have the skills to "deprogram" Cathy. If this doesn't raise alarm bells, it certainly should. First off, if it's not true, then it's all a pack of lies. Secondly, though, if it IS true, then this guy admits he has an intel background that INCLUDES DEALING WITH PROGRAMMING PEOPLE. What kind of camper does this info make me? An unhappy one, that's what kind.

Personally, I think, from the little I've read, that option A is more realistic but you never know. He kinda looks like Robert Culp from I Spy and "Greatest American Hero", so I'll say he looks the part.

3. Their story, to me, sort of contaminates the whole field, which, assuming simple hucksterism is not the motivation, is probably the point. For example, I see "Project Monarch" as confirmed only in two places. One is in O'Brian and one is by Paul Bonnaci of Franklin Coverup fame. While I think it's hard to argue that Bonnaci was not victimized by Larry King, et al, I'm not sure I trust DeCamp (the Nebraska senator who befriended, defended and authored a book about Bonnaci and the Franklin affair and also bragged of being great friends with former CIA head Colby who actually gets interviewed for the Franklin documentary.) I'm PRETTY sure (not completely) that the Monarch part doesn't come out to much later. I know Bonnaci mentions it in his court case against Larry King (which, by the way, he won because King didn't show or send a lawyer, though the fact that it wasn't simply tossed out was kind of a victory) and he also mentions it to Noreen Gosch as he explained that he helped kidnap Gosch precisely for project Monarch.

I'm not cracking on Bonnaci at all, who also now claims to be DID and actually had separate alters testifying at the trial, but I am cautious about Decamp and how he might be pushing an agenda and getting Bonnaci to embellish his story. (In fact, I had actually dismissed much of Bonnaci when he claimed he saw Hunter Thompson directing the snuff film he was forced to participate in. THEN I saw that famous quote from HST's last book where he talks about how its autumn again, the time that children are kidnapped and traded as sex toys (I can provide it if you've not seen it...rushed at present. I went and looked in the book itself and it's right on page one. Last book he wrote before he killed himself/was suicided.)

Back to O'Brien, though. So I'm a little skeptical to say the least. The best we can say is that her case muddies the waters. I think (can't recall her name just at the moment) the woman Jeff interviewed who is a victim with a story similar to O'Brien's) was very perceptive in the way she described Phillips and O'Brian (she didn't use their names, but clear who she was talking about.) So I'd go and read that interview for some clarity. (someone will post the name of the woman...sorry I'm blanking on it. Coffee hasn't kicked in.)

All for now. O'Brian likely a victim in a variety of ways here, but I'm afraid her actual story can't be of much help as I really think these stories shift around based on what's "hot" among researchers at the moment. Maybe if Phillips provides, free of charge, and online guide to deprogramming these Mind Control victims as he claims he's trained to do, I might revise my opinion of them a little bit. (He does have a piece where he talks about the structure of the programming but it is no different from what is already out there...the greek letter "levels" and all that. I think that first started with the infamous "Dr. Green" lectures, but, as seems to be my problem today, I can't remember the name of the man who gave that lecture. I can find that too, if someone is interested. Describes the whole alleged elaborate system of alters created in this process.
