Sensational tapes recorded by the First Lady months after the President’s death are to be released ahead of schedule by her daughter Caroline.

I've been thinking about this subject all day today, so when I watched a stunning TED speech by Eve Ensler that Jeff linked to on Facebook, one thing that she said really hit home:
Eve Ensler wrote:...the huge responsibility that comes with connection..."

The American public is largely disconnected from reality and puts a great deal of energy (that might be better spent on revolution) into denying that anything hinky is happening at all. If they remain disconnected, they will have no responsibility to make painful changes. And they won't risk being labeled "a conspiracy nut" either, something that almost every Lefty I know seems to deeply fear.

Like most older Americans, I remember exactly where I was when the news came that Kennedy had been shot in Dallas. If this story of Jackie and RFK's private opinion turns out to be true, my hope is that the energy in our minds that still surrounds that awful day will somehow drive a lot of people to reconnect and react--to buck their programming. But it's a hope, not anywhere near a belief. Over the past 25 years, I've watched as just about everyone I know has withdrawn from visible activism. Friends who used to march in anti-war demonstrations are now way too nervous of being filmed at one and targeted by fascistic federal agencies who might retaliate and make travel difficult...or even cause them to lose a job in a brutal job market. But none of them will look squarely at their own fears or discuss them rationally. Instead they disconnect from activism and tiptoe past outrageous abuses of the Constitution, afraid to even acknowledge that conspiracies exist.

Why don't you combine this thread with Jeff's since his was posted first

Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.

Honestly if ever there was a TV show that fitted Hugh's thesis it was this one. That show was so popular when I was a kid, I never watched it tho.

But it probably belongs in another thread.

LA Times: Jackie's tapes: The truth comes out in September

Jackie Kennedy's tapes: The truth comes out in September

Previously unheard recordings of Jacqueline Kennedy either do or don't include some shattering allegations, depending on which media source you believe. Jackie recorded the tapes with historian Arthur Schlesinger Jr. in March 1964, months after President Kennedy was assassinated.

The British tabloid Sunday Express writes that the tapes show that Jackie "[b]elieved that gunman Lee Harvey Oswald was merely 'a patsy'.... Suspected her husband was having an affair with a 19-year-old White House intern.... Wrote-off most of JFK’s extra-marital dalliances as 'Jack's meaningless flings.' " The Globe and Mail adds another allegation: that Jackie believed Lyndon Johnson was involved in her husband's assassination.

Or maybe the tapes don't reveal anything of the sort. "Tabloid reports about content of the tapes are total nonsense," a spokeperson for ABC News said, according to the New York Post. ABC has the tapes, which it will air in part in a special with Diane Sawyer in September.

The tapes form the basis for the upcoming book "Jacqueline Kennedy: Historic Conversations on Life with John F. Kennedy," which comes out in September. Daughter Caroline is credited as an author on the book, which includes a forward by historian Michael Beschloss. The book, which has a retail price of $60, comes with an eight-CD set of Jackie Kennedy's recordings.

Those recordings have been under seal since they were completed. The book and CD release -- and TV special -- are planned to coincide with the 50th anniversary of John F. Kennedy becoming president.

^^^^^

Listening to Imus in the morning many years ago Michael Beschloss mentioned that Barb took Georgie W to the parade that day to see JFK..

I say

to see JFK assassinated that day

one thing: 'a patsy'

'a patsy' in this sort of usage would mean a person who something was blamed on. A patsy in a gun murder case would not be expected to have even pulled a trigger.

TNT Greenlights ‘Dallas’ Revival
Fri, 8 Jul 2011

TNT has given the greenlight to DALLAS, an all-new series based upon one of the most popular television dramas of all time, about the bitter rivalries and family power struggles within a Texas oil and cattle-ranching dynasty. Famous for its ratings-grabbing cliffhangers, the original series was known for its wealth, seduction, scandal and intrigues. Set in the big state of Texas, TNT’s new DALLAS — from Warner Horizon Television — also lives life large and in the fast lane and brings a new generation of stars together with cast members from the original drama series.
......
The original DALLAS aired from 1978 to 1991 and centered on the Ewing family, a cattle and oil dynasty occupying the expansive Southfork Ranch in Texas. A long and bitter rivalry between brothers J.R. Ewing (Hagman) and Bobby Ewing (Duffy) eventually led to J.R. losing control of most of the Ewing industries. In the new DALLAS, this explosive rivalry now lives on through another generation, with the future of the family fortune in the hands of the Ewing offspring: cousins John Ross Ewing (Henderson), the son of J.R. and ex-wife Sue Ellen (Gray), and Christopher Ewing (Metcalfe), the adopted son of Bobby. Brewster stars as Elena, who is involved in a love triangle with Christopher and John Ross. Gonzalo stars as Christopher’s fiancée, Rebecca. And Strong stars as Ann, Bobby’s wife.

Did these Jackie tapes come out or what? This is more than a year ago - were these released in full and did they contain anything of interest on the assassination?

For Jack Riddler: No. Nothing at all. Nothing of interest on any subject. Schlesinger agreed to let any talk on November 22 events slide because she had already discussed JFK death elsewhere, with Manchester also. Listened to every CD of the audios a number of times and wondered why I spent $60. Nothing was revealed about affairs with Holden or Agnelli or any of the other topics promised in posts above. Very dry. Very dull. But what could one expect from a probable CIA asset trained to give "minimum information with maximum politeness."
