Related to the town where I am. Not something imminent, but in the past.
Those of you who remember the Reddit furry...what that guy said, maybe.

What did the furry say? From just the other night? Too many threads flying around, it's hard to keep the knots sorted.

Also, it's interesting that the FBI admit to having contacted and interviewed the older brother (at the behest of a foreign government). In conjunction with what the mother said; she sounds a lot more believable now. The only thing suspect about the mother's statements are, how could she be sure that she'd been talking to the FBI? Does the FBI usually go overseas like that? How well could a southern Russian identify agents accurately? How easy would it be to fake being an FBI agent to a Russian woman? A lot more could be going on.

Not directed to you, but: Sorry to disappoint anyone who wishes to masturbate over martial law scare-porn, but not every neighborhood was being checked home-by-home. Almost all of the serious activity was in two places, Watertown and one section of Cambridge. Yes, the rest of us were told to stay home, the MBTA was shut down, etc. But this isn't really The Seige. 9/11 was more like that movie. This is just everyone save two places staying home to let the po-po catch a mass murderer who was still reportedly extremely dangerous. Yes, it looks crazy here, to you. Yes, it is crazy, to us. But not doom-crazy. So, those of you who dig the doom, quit that shit for the time being.

But then again, I'm only on the South Shore. Braintree, specifically.

Just trying to get a feel for what this "lockdown" was all about and its extensiveness. Thanks for your answer. That's what I figured. I for one, am just trying to get my head around the portents of this pornographication by the media and why it seems to be "gripping" the country. It seems like a test run for something else. Not just one event, but seeing if the interchangeable parts work on a permanent basis -- from populace to police to military to private firms. I personally feel doomed in my own ways, not projecting my doom unto you, just what this wall to wall coverage nationwide portends for us as a whole.

Well, you said it made your skin crawl, so I was curious. In fact, though, I don't think we are talking about the same furry. The reddit furry I was reading last night didn't say anything scary, and has since deleted his posts. Like I said, I'll stop chasing that rabbit b/c I'm obviously late to the party :p

That story is hitting the net now on local news channels:

"The search for the second suspect in the Boston Marathon Bombings and anybody else who may have been involved hit extremely close to home Friday evening.

After local and state police and FBI agents allegedly searched Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s UMass Dartmouth dorm room, authorities swarmed to the Rockdale West apartment complex in New Bedford’s West End. Three people were arrested on scene, and are allegedly friends of the second suspect.

Joe St. Pierre lives several doors down from the apartment at 69 Carriage Drive, and tells WBSM News he heard an FBI agent yelling at one of the people being taken into custody.

New Bedford Police say the three people in custody are being questioned by the FBI.

One neighbor says he had a friendly relationship with Tsarnaev, and the three that were arrested share the same cell phone bill with the bombing suspect.

Police say Tsarnaev spent a substantial amount of time at the Carriage Drive apartment."
