Russia had wiretap on bomb suspect

WASHINGTON — U.S. officials say Russian authorities secretly recorded a conversation in 2011 in which one of the Boston bombing suspects vaguely discussed jihad with his mother.

Officials say a second call was recorded between the suspects' mother and a man under FBI investigation living in southern Russia.

The officials spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the ongoing case.

They say the Russians shared this intelligence with the U.S. in the past few days.

The conversations are significant because, had they been revealed earlier, there might have been enough evidence for the FBI to initiate a more thorough investigation of the Boston bombing suspects' family.

Tamerlan didn't leave for Russia until January 2012. Do Russians generally wiretap US residents while they are living in the US? Does this come with or without the blessing of Homeland Security's Domestic Wiretapping Czar?

I would guess the tap was on the mother's end
By 1964 there were 1.5 million mobile phone users in the US

Are there even ends anymore?

By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

Is the story changing again? Is Misha being downgraded as the primary influence on the older brother?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article ... n-man.html

This is from the Mail Online, mostly re-hash but the new emphasis is here:

"clip......Although The Daily Beast claims that now officials know more about Misha he might be a less important part of the case than previously thought.

During his hospital room interrogation, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev told FBI agents this week that he and his brother were influenced by the internet sermons of Anwar al-Awlaki, the American-born preacher who was killed in a U.S. drone strike in Yemen in September 2011.

There is a long trail of hardened terrorists who have acknowledged coming under his sway. Among them are Faisal Shahzad, the Pakistani-American who attempted to set off a car bomb in Times Square in May 2010, and Nidal Malik Hasan, the U.S. Army officer who killed 13 people in a shooting spree at Fort Hood in 2009.

The charismatic cleric was seen by the Obama administration as a uniquely dangerous terrorist because of his sermons, his intuitive grasp of U.S. culture, and a burning desire to strike his birth nation

Police Commissioner Ed Davis has some odd links to 7/7 bombings & Ian Blair - commissioner of London police at that time - according to this snippet from a BBC interview

( not sure if this stream link works or not )

Ed Davis.mp3

…no doubt linked to this outfit…

Ahahaha...of course. Naw see they got greedy. Alex Jones conspiracy theorists, anti war...al Qaeda magazines. Ok. Sure. Whatever. Oh...Anwar fuckin Awlaki. The guy were now told bought the damn 9/11 hijacker plane tickets(yet was dining with big wigs at the Pentagon a few months later) The cipher of all ciphers, the Adnan Kashogi to my Forrest Gump. Yeah got it.

Large flight 11 plane part nestled next to the "ground zero mosque"? WMD's in Syria? Ok, sure. Oh, but Anwar al-Awlaki. From beyond the grave(if he's even dead)
I can't find the search function, but I know I did a big thread on "anwar aulaqi" back in 2007 here. That guy had protected provocatuer intel asset written all over him.

This is like how Zacarious Moussaoui directly links to Nick Berg, Paul Wellstone's crash pilot, Mohamed Atta, and Melvin Lattimore(WTC 93, OKC 95, 9/11)

Officials know more about Misha??? Great, let's hear it.
He's not that big a deal, though? Oh, really? Convince me.

"Misha" may still be undergoing rehearsals at Langley before his first appearance on stage.

Great question. I happen to know someone who might have the answer who left me a voicemail on 3 days ago voicing his concern that there was something "not quite right" about what happened in Boston. Sorry to be cryptic, but I just haven't been able to get in touch with him by phone since. When I do get the answer to your question, I'll let you know.

I vaguely reached out to a friend who might know something, too. Probably knows absolutely zip. But, I felt the need to alert him anyway. Just in case those two khakis dudes wind up deserving an official reprimand, maybe even having a portion of their next paycheck docked. It was my patriotic duty, my civic duty.

Boston Police Chief on the Record as Seeing a Video on Dzhokhar Tsarnaev dropping a backpack that then exploded, killing several people.

"I watched this young man put a satchel on the ground that blew up and killed an eight-year-old boy, and a young woman standing next to him. I have no sympathy for him whatsoever," he said.

Davis saw the act thanks to CCTV monitoring near the finish line on Boylston Street. He said he was taught how important surveillance cameras can be in identifying criminals by London's former Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sir Ian Blair.

Blair showed Davis how the City of London Police used CCTV after the July 7, 2005 bombings that targeted civilians on London's public transit system during rush hour.

...

However, he thinks the government will likely install more cameras throughout the country as a result of their role in identifying the Tsarnaev brothers — a move he supports.
