Crazy hypothetical: Imagine, most improbably, that the general consensus about Obama professed by the wingnut far-right fringe, that he and his closest allies represent...uh, an Islamo-communist deep-cover traitorous network bent on undermining and destroying the American economy, Constitution, and sovereignty...or whatever the hell it is they believe...(seems to me the same far-fetched suspicions could equally apply to the Bush administrations, but I digress)...let's posit that batshit-wacky scenario, for a moment, if you can bear it for even a moment...that would be a bad thing, right? If it were somehow based in reality, against all logic, intuition, and odds? Bad? Or would it maybe be a good thing?

I should have thought my reply through a bit more. I realize it is hardly satire even more hardly worthy of a chuckle. At any rate, the extent to which both the Booosh and Bomba Secret Shadow Camps were/are doing what you speculate about would certainly only be revealed on a need to know basis. As to the good or bad, it makes my head hurt too much to think about.

Obama Fed Grapes While Urging Press Conference To Enjoy Orgy

WASHINGTON—Standing before members of the White House Press Corps Wednesday afternoon as aides lowered a bunch of grapes into his mouth, President Obama encouraged everyone gathered in the West Wing briefing room to abandon their inhibitions and revel in a wild, drunken orgy.

Sources confirmed Obama, who had initially called the press conference to discuss the progress on an infrastructure development bill, suddenly requested everyone in the room strip off their clothing and strongly urged NBC’s Chuck Todd and CNN’s Jessica Yellin to kick the festivities off by engaging in oral sex in front of the podium.

“This afternoon I will discuss how the new water resource development bill could affect S. 601, but first, I think we should all give in to the basest of our primal urges and drink thirstily from the cup of lust,” said Obama, as the juice of the grapes he was eating ran down his chin and White House staffers placed a wreath of leaves onto his head. “This is a day of excess! So now, release yourselves from your attire and surrender your body and mind to the pleasures of the vita carnalis, and to the sheer majesty of the human flesh.”

“Do not resist,” the president continued. “Avail yourself of every journalist and cameraman in this room!”

According to reports, the six-hour-long alcohol-fueled orgy included nearly 50 reporters from a number of Pulitzer Prize–winning media outlets engaged in various sex acts. Multiple eyewitnesses confirmed seeing two AP reporters engaging in anal penetration against a lectern, an ABC News correspondent screaming in ecstasy as she was repeatedly penetrated with a live NPR microphone, and a naked secret service agent urinating on New York Times journalist Peter Baker.

Eyewitness accounts confirmed that as the reporters continued ravenously copulating on top of one another, Obama ripped off his shirt, leaned back in a large golden chair, and was attended to by a bevy of 23-year-old political bloggers who eagerly satisfied his every sensual whim.

Throughout the course of the lascivious ceremony, sources also reported seeing a fully nude White House press secretary Jay Carney prancing between the writhing, sweat-soaked nude bodies sprawled across the room while playing a pan flute and vigorously tugging his erect penis.

“Are we not but beasts, each and every one of us?” Obama roared, as a line of young White House interns frantically playing drums filed into the room followed by servants carrying large trays loaded with slow-roasted boars, cooked turkeys, salted fish, and one large goat on a spit. “Death may visit us all by nightfall, thus do not concern yourself with the petty, ephemeral nature of existence and instead embrace pure pleasure!”

“I urge you, don’t stop until your most depraved fantasies are realized,” added Obama, while pouring a large cup of wine onto Mother Jones reporter David Corn as he licked honey from the president’s nipple.

Reports confirmed that toward the end of the massive orgy, the swelling music quickly reached its apex as the dozens of heaving journalists growled with pleasure and edged towards climax. In the bacchanalian celebration’s final moments, a golden bust of a bull’s head was brought before the assembly, at which time Obama sliced the stomach of a USA Today political correspondent, spilling blood all across the briefing room.

By the end of the orgy, multiple participants reported having no memory of the full span of the afternoon’s events due to the sheer volume and variety of alcohol and hallucinogenic black henbane consumed during the festivities.

“When it began, I was admittedly apprehensive, but by the end I had become fully one with the ravenous sexual mammal that lives deep within my soul,” said NPR’s Ari Shapiro, who claimed to have had intercourse with somewhere between six and 32 different reporters throughout the event. “Honestly, I only remember flashes: a Newsweek reporter sitting on my face, me fisting Fox News’ Ed Henry, and lastly, me gaining consciousness again on top of a pile of CNN reporters.”

“It was the most marvelous experience of my life,” added Shapiro.

At press time, the reporters, all covered in ejaculate, blood, fecal matter, and food, attempted to question Obama on the estimated timetable of the water resource development bill.

U.S. acknowledges killing of four U.S. citizens in counterterrorism operations

By Karen DeYoung, Wednesday, May 22, 3:44 PM E-mail the writer
The Obama administration Wednesday for the first time acknowledged killing four U.S. citizens in “counterterrorism operations” abroad.

The deaths of three of the Americans — Anwar al-Awlaki, his 16-year-old son Abd al-Rahman Anwar al-Awlaki, and Samir Khan, all of whom were killed in drone strikes in Yemen in 2011 — had been previously reported. The death of the fourth, Jude Kennan Mohammad, a Florida native apparently killed in Pakistan, had not been.

The acknowledgment, in a letter from Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. to members of the Senate Judiciary Committee, came one day before President Obama is scheduled to deliver a major speech on counterterrorism policy.

Obama “has made clear his commitment to providing Congress and the American people with as much information as possible about our sensitive counterterrorism operations,” Holder wrote. “To this end, the President has directed me to disclose certain information that until now has been properly classified.”

Holder said that only Anwar al-Awlaki was “specifically targeted.” Khan was known to have been killed by the strike that targeted Awlaki, while the 16-year old was killed in what senior administration officials described as a “mistake,” when he was in the company of another targeted individual shortly after his father’s death.

Mohammed was indicted in 2009 by a federal grand jury in North Carolina, where he had lived near Raleigh. The indictment said he was believed to have left the United States for Pakistan in 2008 to “engage in violent jihad.”

Holder letter was first reported on the Web site by the New York Times.

Obama calls for end to ‘perpetual’ war on terror
By Agence France-Presse | Thursday, May 23, 2013 16:57 EDT

President Barack Obama Thursday laid out new guidelines for drone strikes and launched a new bid to close Guantanamo Bay, warning that a “perpetual” US war on terror would be self defeating.

Obama told Americans their country was at a crossroads, and must move on from the counter-terrorism policies deployed after the September 11 attacks to confront a new era of diverse global threats and homegrown radicals.

He argued that the idea of using military might in a “boundless” war everywhere that radicalism took root, be it in Pakistan or Arab Spring nations or Somalia, was now obsolete.

“A perpetual war — through drones or Special Forces or troop deployments — will prove self-defeating, and alter our country in troubling ways,” he said, seeking to shape his second term and own political legacy in a major speech.

“We must define the nature and scope of this struggle, or else it will define us,” Obama said, warning that some post 9/11 tactics like enhanced interrogation of terror suspects had “compromised our basic values.”

But Obama also mounted a firm defense of his covert drone war as legal and just and the best way to confront terrorism plots against Americans, though warned that undisciplined use of the tactic would invite abuses of power.

He said he had signed a new policy directive codifying guidelines for the use of US drone strikes because “to say a military tactic is legal, or even effective, is not to say it is wise or moral in every instance.”

The guidelines state that drone attacks can only be used to prevent imminent attacks and when the capture of a suspect is not feasible and if there is a “near certainty” that civilians will not be killed.

The rules would follow the same criteria as those used for attacks on US citizens who have aligned themselves with foreign terror groups.

Such criteria, however, would still give the administration wide discretion to use a covert strategy condemned by some rights groups and civil libertarians.

On Wednesday, the administration admitted for the first time that it had killed Yemeni-American cleric Anwar al-Awlaki in a drone strike in Yemen in 2011 — and three other US citizens also died in anti-terror strikes abroad.

Obama, in the speech at the National Defense University, said that he would be “haunted” for the rest of his life by the deaths of civilians in strikes he had ordered — but had no choice but to act when Americans were at risk.

But he said his policies had been successful in neutralizing the threat of action from core Al-Qaeda leaders in Afghanistan and Pakistan, though cautioned the raid that killed Osama bin Laden was too risky to become the norm.

Obama also signaled a major new effort to close the Guantanamo Bay camp for terror suspects in Cuba, which he billed as harmful to US interests, too expensive and a relic of a past age of counterterrorism tactics.

He pledged to lift a personal moratorium on transferring Guantanamo Bay inmates to unstable Yemen and promised to appoint a senior envoy to work in the State Department and Pentagon to oversee transfers. Yemen welcomed the announcements.

He also called on the Pentagon to designate a site on US soil to hold military tribunals for terror suspects now at Guantanamo Bay, and said Congress must now drop efforts to thwart his closure plans.

“I know the politics are hard. But history will cast a harsh judgment on this aspect of our fight against terrorism and those of us who fail to end it,” Obama said.

Obama offered no solution for inmates deemed too dangerous for release but who cannot be tried because evidence against them was obtained through coercion and may not be admissible in court.

As he addressed Guantanamo, Obama was repeatedly heckled by Medea Benjamin, leader of the Code Pink anti-war group, who shouted : “You are commander in chief. You can close Guantanamo today!”

Obama, though irked by the interruption, said that such passion showed the need for transparency : “These are tough issues and the suggestion that we can gloss over them is wrong.”

He also called on Congress to amend the legal authorization for US anti-terror operations, adopted in the shocked aftermath of the September 11 attacks, saying it did not reflect the evolved threat.

“Not every collection of thugs that label themselves Al-Qaeda will pose a credible threat to the United States,” he said.

“Unless we discipline our thinking and our actions, we may be drawn into more wars we don’t need to fight.”

He sounded like he would back a federal gay marriage mandate if it ever were too happen, said gitmo finally needs to close, gave at least lip service that the drones should be reigned back a bit,
acknowledged they killed four Americans, is staying calm against a litany of GOP/right wing attacks, etc...

Just saying...we'd be doing a LOT worse under Romney. I mean to the point where it's no comparison. Also notice how Obama isnt getting us involved in Syria or elsewhere. Again, imagine if Romney was in charge.
I dont think all is lost with Barry.

*EDIT* wait a second...it may become a little dangerous if he were to go too progressive/radical/gamechanging...if ya know what I mean.

it's already dangerous. I don't think, despite all the crap we read around here, that we really have any idea how unprecedented the political situation is. A solid 30-40% of the population is acting in a hostile manner not inconsistent with mental illness. They control many businesses, they literally hold a large part of the economy by the throat, yet Obama's supposed to fix it.

We as left leaning-ish folks want to hold the Obama administration accountable for a few issues, but the right wing doesn't care about those issues in the least. The vibe with them as we all guessed back in 2008, is basically on par with Southern good ol boys and townfolks circa 1930 when they realize there's an n-word in town. That unspoken nod and gaze. "Earl, you grab the truck". It's, kind of scary. Our sometimes criticism of the President and their beef doesn't even seem on the same galaxy let alone the same planet. Some of the anti Obama stuff truly frightens me.

Jon Corzine Will Not Face Criminal Charges Over MF Global

July 9th, 2013

Shocker.

Via: Marketwatch:

There will be no criminal charges for former New Jersey Governor Jon Corzine over the use of customer funds leading up to collapse of MF Global.
The criminal probe into whether there was wrongdoing on the part of Corzine by the Department of Justice will now be dropped due to lack of evidence, said a report in The New York Post, citing a person with knowledge of the matter.

Holy fucking shit.

There was hardly anyone more blatantly guilty of simply STEALING vast sums of money from the financial firm they ran.

Vast sums of money.

I personally know a guy whose college fund for his kids was wiped out -- STOLEN -- by MF Global.

And he's skating away, scott free.

WOW.

FUCK. Obama.

Obama Promises Disappear from Web
by John Wonderlich July 25, 2013, 11:31 a.m.
Change.gov, the website created by the Obama transition team in 2008, has effectively disappeared sometime over the last month.

While the front splash page for Change.gov has linked to the main White House website for years, until recently, you could still continue on to see the materials and agenda laid out by the administration. This was a particularly helpful resource for those looking to compare Obama's performance in office against his vision for reform, laid out in detail on Change.gov.

According to the Internet Archive, the last time that content (beyond the splash page) was available was June 8th -- last month.

Why the change?

Here's one possibility, from the administration's ethics agenda:

Protect Whistleblowers: Often the best source of information about waste, fraud, and abuse in government is an existing government employee committed to public integrity and willing to speak out. Such acts of courage and patriotism, which can sometimes save lives and often save taxpayer dollars, should be encouraged rather than stifled. We need to empower federal employees as watchdogs of wrongdoing and partners in performance. Barack Obama will strengthen whistleblower laws to protect federal workers who expose waste, fraud, and abuse of authority in government. Obama will ensure that federal agencies expedite the process for reviewing whistleblower claims and whistleblowers have full access to courts and due process.
It may be that Obama's description of the importance of whistleblowers went from being an artifact of his campaign to a political liability. It wouldn't be the first time administration positions disappear from the internet when they become inconvenient descriptions of their assurances.

Obama's vision for lobbying transparency has similarly been discarded along the way, but the timing here suggests that the heat on Obama's whistleblower prosecutions has led the administration to unceremoniously remove their previous positions.
Mazars and Deutsche Bank could have ended this nightmare before it started.
They could still get him out of office.
But instead, they want mass death.
