Chillin said:
"I've been intrigued by everything about DMT for a while, it's too bad I can't explore the issue personally with a licensed therapist or something. My drive to understand and experience the universe is no less legitimate than that of the people who happen to be affiliated with a church."

Ditto; After reading Terrence McKenna's mind-stretching books re: his Amazonian psychonaut explorations, I developed a keen interest in following-up with my own searchs. However, it seems the local pharmacies don't stock DMT.

I was especially intrigued with McKenna's theory of alien-symbiosis, ie., humans are encouraged (instructed?) to raise domesticated herds of cattle, which create optimal forage-range conditions for DMT 'shrooms to propogate and grow, which in-turn 'reward' humans by providing them with arcane knowledge and genetic modification/evolution eneabling greater cosmic awareness and heightened sensitivity to transdimensional, alternative 'other' realities -- perhaps akin to modifying and fine-tuning our celestial radio recievers.

BTW: VERY interesting link provided re: Pickover, who pursues thoughts suggested by McKenna: "Right here and now, one quanta away, there is raging a universe of active intelligence that is transhuman, hyperdimensional, and extremely alien... What is driving religious feeling today is a wish for contact with this other universe." The aliens seen while using DMT present themselves "with information that is not drawn from the personal history of the individual."

Fascinating stuff.
Starman
